I had an excellent stay at Viajero Hostel and I can't recommend it highly enough! From the moment I arrived, the friendly staff, especially Jasmine, made me feel right at home. She went above and beyond to ensure my experience was memorable. The hostel itself is impeccably clean, and the facilities are top-notch. Whether you're looking for a comfortable lounge area, well-equipped kitchens, or cozy dorms, Viajero has it all. I traveled as a solo female- I always felt safe in Sayulity but specifically at Viajero. The Stuff is incredible and you will leave feeling like family. The food and the bar are also great and super convenient. Shoutout to Alex the bartender, he is the best and you will love his creations! Sayulity is also a great spot to learn or get better at surfing. I ended you going to La Lancha many times for better surf and there were always people at the hotel who were down to join.

Obviously everyone talks about the hill being a negative (because who likes walking up a hill?!) but honestly the separation from the main street and town is MUCH appreciated. Plus it's a free workout!

I had the most incredible time at Viajero Sayulita! From the moment I arrived, I was welcomed with open arms by the amazing staff and volunteers. Nico, Mikey, Alex, Pao, Osvaldo, and the rest of the team truly went above and beyond to make me feel at home; they all made an effort to learn my name within just a few days. The facilities, beds, rooms, activities, and overall vibes were all absolutely immaculate—everything you could want for a perfect stay. The attention to detail from every staff member was remarkable, and you could feel their genuine love for their jobs in everything they did. Don’t let the hill put you off choosing Viajero; it’s absolutely worth it! I came not knowing how long I’d stay, but I ended up staying nearly a month, and I wish I could have stayed even longer. The friendships I made here, with both the staff and other guests, will last a lifetime. I can't thank everyone enough for the unforgettable experience—I’ll absolutely be back as soon as I can. Great place to stay. The apartment was spacious with all you need and great to have a kitchen. Pool, restaurant and bar area was great and a rooftop for morning yoga, sport or stretching. Super friendly staff. Music stops playing around 11:00 at night. We were there in the off season, not sure how it normally is.

Really annoying steep hill to get to the property, but hey, it’s a good workout. One guest got bitten by a neighboring dog.

It's the people here that have made it an absolute memorable stay. Nico, Alex, Jasmin, Max, Chica (semi-resident dog), Gato,......... So many freaking good people both working here and visiting. This place is not for the pretentious it's for the real.

What I don't like is what I find with most corporate entities. They did not build with nature. This area is having extreme difficulty in regards to water because of the overdevelopment and there is no water catchment or a real incorporation of nature into the architecture.

Nice and new, the areas are clean and the room too, it is quite comfy for the price that you pay, great view on the rooftop, quiet area around the hostel, you can only hear people at the bar on the rooftop some nights but other than that it’s quieter than the city center which is very loud. And only a 5 min walk… I was in a girl dorm room and felt really safe. You should bring a padlock for the locker but it’s just for reassurance because I felt pretty safe having my stuff out in the room, the girls and the staff were very respectful. They offer laundry service for 200$MX with a 24 hour delay for your clothes to be dried and folded.

I had an awesome week there surfing. I chose Viajero because I wanted to be able to meet other travelers easily, while the private rooms were nice. The room was great, and so was the chance to hang out with other people. The staff were extra great. Very welcoming and fun, and careful to include everyone. Views from the roof and the rooftop bar were awesome. I loved being just out of town, but it was a very easy walk down the hill to all the restaurants, bars and the beach. The place has a dual personality between being some kind of tranquil sanctuary and a party place. Both things are represented, and that's cool. I actually liked it that it was such a mix of visitors. As one of the older more sensible (? LOL) travelers, it was a blast hanging out with the younger crowd some nights. The vibe varied through the week - the weekend was the only time I had any doubts about what I was doing there with the EDM dance party LOL. The rest of the week was awesome with karaoke night, salsa night, etc. I don't see it as a negative but it's worth being aware that you may be a little out of your comfort zone at times if you came for the nice private rooms and yoga LOL . You will definitely be mixing with lots of different people at different life stages from all round the world. But I'd say that's pretty damn cool overall, so I'm listing it as a positive!

As a solo traveler, this hostel is both welcoming and easy to meet like minded people. From the moment of check-in to checkout you are sure to have alot of fun! Activities are on every night and you are only a short walk from town to all the delights Sayulita has to offer. Carlos on the front desk was there to answer any questions and address any problems you may have. Estaban at the bar and Fernando in the kitchen will always put a smile on your face. If you're a solo traveler coming to Sayulita, Viajero hostel is you're best choice!

I enjoyed everything in this stay, the location is great with an amazing coast view from the pool and bar area. the staff is super friendly and helpful, they are always willing to help you with no matter what questions or doubts you have. I want to especially thank Valeria and Nicolas from the front desk since they were accommodating and solved all my questions.

I don't have any complaints about this place, the only thing they could change to improve it is to maybe lower the price for private rooms since there are other options around that are more competitive and offer better deals.

Marlon, Fernanda, Jonathan and all starf are amazing. Nice and delicious food. Excellent and clean rooms by Olga and Janet. This is by far the best hostel in sayulita.
