wonderful pool area and courtyard. Room was quiet, comfortable and air conditioner worked well. Good view of the town. great location near the main plaza. I would stay there again.

The hotel had its own US dollar to peso exchange rate so the hotel charged us more in pesos than our Booking price in US dollars (which was supposed to include taxes and fees). I showed them the conversion rate at check in but the woman said that the hotel had a different exchange rate than the official rate.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The hotel is clean and updated and offers a large outdoor pool that gets morning sunshine and has lots of pool furniture, and a large work-out room (gym) that has a nice variety of treadmills, ellipticals, and weights to use. Our room was clean and spacious, the linens and towels were clean and fresh, the bed was comfortable. The bathroom offered plenty of counter-space. The shower was hot and had good pressure. During the day, we appreciated our outdoor balcony and the natural light shining into the room. At night, we loved that our room was dark and quiet (the fan helped drown-out any exterior noise). I'm a light sleeper, and I slept great. The staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel location is easy walking distance to shops, restaurants, and the town center. We would definitely stay here again.

The room included a coffee pot, but after the first day you are required to purchase any additional coffee from the front desk. Not a big issue, but free coffee would be nice. Also, the room did not include a refrigerator which would be nice. We did not have breakfast at the hotel because it seemed pricey; however, it was easy to find many affordable breakfast spots near the hotel.

Everything was good. I liked that most of the other guests appeared to be Mexican nationals. The elevator was curious for a city with a very low crime rate - makes me wonder about past incidences - as one must tap the room key card on a reader before pushing the button or the elevator won't go. And it will only stop on the floor selected. And down only to lobby.

The A/C controls were older and didn't seem to have an option of setting a goal temperature and then going on or off with that temperature setting, even with the help of the maintenance guy. I had to keep turning it on and off when it got too warm or too cold. Also the late night arrival check-in process was not smooth. I arrived at midnight, as I'd informed them to find the door locked unless one already had a key and no bell to alert anyone inside and no one in sight. Fortunately a registered guest arrived and let me in. Check in instructions were confusing and finally an employee assisted me.

The doorman and valet parking were very kind. They clean very well and we had a King size bed, what was very comfortabele. Good mattress! It's an old hotel, so the furniture is old fashioned, but it works so it's fine. The bathroom is small, but also it works.

The ladies in the front desk could benefit some customer service communication skills or anything in that direction. As for the males who were most of the time the valet parkers, knew how to give good customer experience! Weird as they work in the same hotel, but the woman have an arrogant attitude around them.

Great location for walking to main plaza (Centro historico). Longer, but doable walk to the ADO bus terminal and La Plancha park. The room and lobby were comfortable and had good wifi.

The pool wasn't open when we visited. The room did not have a refrigerator, and they charged for in-room coffee. Sidewalks in the historic city center are very narrow. Might consider staying along wider Paseo de Montejo as an alternative in the future.

The location is great, very central. Very decent facilities. The room was clean when we arrived and was getting cleaned up and tidied every single day which we loved. People in the reception are very polite and eager to help. Recommended but maybe do choose a bigger room.

The room was very small (we knew that already). But because we were out all day it didn’t feel too uncomfortable. The room was also a bit dark and traffic noise from the road also apparent.

When you enter the hotel, we loved the nice smell. The room is really big and we had also a small fridge, cutlery, sink, microwave, kettle, complimentary water and a coffee starter set. The bed is quite big and very comfortable as well as the pillows. Once we met the cleaning lady who was extremely sweet, nice and careful. They cleaned our room daily. The wifi is with a good speed. The pool is small but nice to enjoy around on a warm day. We could also leave our luggage for a couple of hours before we leave Merida.

When you open the door for the bathroom, there is not much space. I thought the location is a bit more central and less confusing to find but in general it is pretty good. The furniture can be updated a bit. The fitness didn't have that many machines, sadly. Due to construction work, the parking wasn't accessible so they had to drive our car to it but at least there was available parking.

The gym was a nice bonus as there were times when there were too many people in the pool to do any sort of swimming. The hallways had carpet which reduced the noise.

The rooms on the lower floors near the pool should have double glazed glass as the noise is too much (and the pool is open late at night due to Merida's serious heat and humidity).

It's a 10-15 minute walk from Gastronomica street (Calle 47) and Montejo street (where another bunch of great restaurants are located). They also give you 2 bottles of water each day. Finally, there is staff checking on the underground parking (included) all day/night.

Everything! The Staff is a Team of Angels. And I loved my room. The location is at the center of everything. You'll find yourself booking additional nights and wanting to stay longer. I needed to book a stay very quickly due to a previous booking (a house with a pool near the Continental car-maintenance shop) which was not only a scam, but a non-refundable booking. This Hotel was a Godsend and the best pick. Hotel Gamma had a beautiful, comfortable room available for me that didn't have loud people or couples deep in Marvin Gaye moments. The hot water never wavered and I slept very well. Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful!!

Only one thing: Sulfur smell in the mornings, but it goes away by noon. That's all.
