Well, the best and most important thing we can say about this stunning little gem of a hotel is that it is the BEST HOTEL in Chefchauan! If you choose to stay here, you will have the best time ever... :) The little motto at the front of the hotel says it all... very thoughtful with a deeper meaning that tells everyone to enjoy living today, don't wait till tomorrow. This little quaint hotel is tucked away in a quiet beautiful alley away from the busy main alleyways. From the moment we walked through the door, we were greeted by two very friendly men who treated us like royalty. We were shown our lovely room and offered a different room if we would like to change. But we were extremely happy with our budget twin room, it was large enough to put all of our luggage and the bathroom was nice and worked very well. The beds were extremely comfortable and warmer blankets were there if we needed them for the cooler nights. We slept so well every night and looked forward every morning to enjoying our breakfast on the rooftop terrace. The views are stunning and breathtaking.... looking across towards the Kasbah and the blue city below and the Spanish mosque high on the hill above. Breakfast was yummy, fried eggs or an omelette, plenty of different types of bread, soft cheeses, olives, jam and honey. Tea, coffee and freshly squeezed orange juice. Just delicious! My husband and I were relaxing on the rooftop terrace one afternoon and the wonderful, friendly owner came up and offered us some fresh grapes from his grape vine and asked us if we'd like to enjoy some tea. We highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for quality accommodation in a beautiful part of the city. We would give this hotel 10 stars, thank you to all the friendly staff we met during our magical stay there. We hope to come back and see you soon.

We LOVED everything!!

The location is very close to the famous Bob Souk gate which is the main entrance of the Medina. Once you get off from the taxi outside the Medina, it's a quick 5 mins walk to the hotel. The staff was kind to come and pick us up from the Medina gate, and helped me to catch a taxi at 6:30 am in the morning to go to the CTM bus station.

The rooms are not as much spacious as they appear in the photos. However, I feel that the same could be the situation at other properties which are inside the Medina.

The host was very responsive, he gave clear instructions to arrive at parking, he came to pick us up from there and helped to deal with the parking too. Room was clean and the location of the stay is perfect. Everything in Chefchaouen is accesible by foot from this stay. Breakfast was very good too.

The terrace and the view from there doesn't look like the pictures in the advertisement description. Floor wasn't so clean. Toiletries, hair dyer, etc aren't available. But there were mentioned in list of facilities.

The location of this place is great, but like everywhere in Chefchaouen you have to climb plenty of stairs! It was easy to find using Google maps. Plenty of shops in the street but you have to go to the main square for food (maybe 5 minutes). This dar has the traditional opening in the middle, but unlike the riads, it is covered. We had a window towards the opening and to the street, while our second room had windows with amazing views over the city. The roof terrace has a great view over the city and is perfect for sunsets. Breakfast was good, served on the terrace so a bit cold in December.

Beds were quite hard. Although booked for 3, we had towels for two and no toilet paper in any of the rooms (we had to go and get it at reception). Staff was not so easy to find.

We changed hotels while in Chefchaouen and I really regret not having found this hotel since the beginning. The rooms are really nice and the staff even if a bit dry was really welcoming. Then there is the terrace which honestly has some breathtaking views. Everything was really clean, well-kept, and very comfortable. The room was spacious and had loads of natural lighting. Even if you pay a bit more this is a great option for Chefchaouen.

Nothing, we really enjoyed our time in this place.

To begin, the room was comfortable, quite, and cozy, with a great set of windows and view of the city. The rooftop had great seating and an equally beautiful vista. The staff is super welcoming and helpful, breakfast was great, and they greeted us with tea. Prime location right in the heart of the Medina, but quiet and calm at night. Would stay here again and again.

Wish we could have stayed longer.

Room 7: A beautiful room, exquisitely decorated with traditional furniture. Fantastic amount of natural sunlight and an excellent level of cleanliness. The views were wonderful, especially from the terrace where we enjoyed a delicious & satisfying breakfast. The location was ideal for us, up on a slightly higher level away from the noise of the kasbah & medina and following the route from Bab Souk. Plenty of eating and shopping around there. We really appreciated the upgrade from Room 5, which was also a seemingly nice room.

Overall, it was a wonderful stay at Dar Sababa. The attentive manager gave us a nice welcome and offered us a better room, however the staff surrounding him, mostly young men, had a disinterested attitude and were more concerned with their mobile phones. The manager’s attitude even changed while he was around them. A minor point, I suppose, but worth noting.

Location was great and about a five minute walk to the square. Lots of places to eat and shop. Breakfast was good and served on the rooftop.

This place was good for the price and location. Since no taxis can get into the area you will have to carry your bags a bit up hill to get to this Riad. I would suggest taking a small bag or arrange for the Riad staff to meet you and help with the luggage. Also, the Riad is quite small and there are no elevators so if you are not able to go up the stairs I would not recommend you stay at this small Riad.

The location was perfectly at the centre of the attractions in Chefchaouen. The check-in was relaxed and easygoing; we felt at home. The rooms were spacious and comfy. The terrace was superb, with an amazing view (at night as well). The breakfast was divine for a Riad, even though they served it 30 minutes earlier than usual just for us (we left the place at 7h30, and the staff made all the effort to prepare the breakfast for our group before everyone else). But, above all, the staff was PERFECT! Super friendly, helpful, and ready to help at any time (really at any time). We were a group of 10, and we felt at home from the first moment we stepped in! This is THE place to stay at Chefchaouen.

Nothing was disappointing. Everything matched our expectations or exceeded them.

Located nearby the Old City Square & Kasba with ample restaurant choices, shops & facilities. City tours can be arranged & restaurant recommendations by the staff, an amazing breakfast was served as part of the accommodation tariff. Cafe Clock has music & great food. Twins Cafe has great coffee. 24 hour Reception. The city is known for its blue painted buildings, particularly in the Old City.

Stairs, stairs & more stairs 😂
