Unique and awesome location. Very clean and modern facilities in the room. The location feels very local and small business, which we prefer over big chain hotels. The rooms are equipped with a wonderful big and automated skylight and a fan which is nice when it's hot outside. The temperature was agreeable during the night. If you don't have any other plans, make sure to have a breakfast here too! As the hotel is small-scale, you will have a freshly prepared breakfast with amazing local bread, good coffee, yoghurt, eggs, fruit and freshly squeezed orange juice. All served by a dedicated and lovely host, Anna (in the weekends).

The rooms were relatively small but manageable. Just don't bring too much luggage. There is however a big space under the bed where you can store your suitcases. The light in the bathroom was quite dim, so difficult to use for applying make up (we were attending a wedding). If you need darkness to sleep, bring a sleep mask. The wonderful skyligh, which is a blessing by day, makes for a lot of light in the early mornings too unfortunately.

It felt much more adventurous to stay on a boat than in a hotel! The barge is very tastefully designed and the rooms are well equipped. It was lovely to light the stoves as the weather was still quite chilly. The steps into the boat are steep, so one has to be careful getting on and off the boat. However even our elederly parents managed. The location was very convenient for exploring the centre of Amersfoort. The breakfast was amazing. Elene was a delightful host.

We liked everything!

This little B&B just oozes charm. The room is small, as mentioned on the website. But that is part of the charm. I am 188 tall and managed to stretch out on the bed. The bathroom is a nice size, and the rooms were immaculately clean. Elenè the host, is super friendly and helpful, and her assistant, Anna, even went as far as to make me freshly squeezed orange juice and fruit when I was ill in bed. I am vegan, and my wife eats normally, and the breakfast for both was amazing. The location is also perfect as it's very close to the old town. I would highly recommend this stay for what is a beautiful city.

Location was good with a couple of nice places to eat. Bed was comfortable and it was nice to be able to sit in the lounge area of the cabin. Bed was comfortable and everywhere was very clean and well laid out.

Going to the toilet during the night was difficult as you had to climb the stairs out of the main cabin area and down another set of stairs to the bathroom. Also I'm tall so the shower was a bit of a struggle. Our car was broken into which was parked in the car park nearby so would recommend making sure that the car is empty and is in a visible area in the car park.

I stayed at Vita Nova for two nights and it was an amazing experience. The boat is beautifully renovated and spotlessly clean. The rooms are small but comfortable, and the beds are very cozy. The best part of the stay was the breakfast. Elene is a wonderful host and she makes the most delicious food. I would highly recommend staying at Vita Nova to anyone looking for a unique and charming place to stay in Amersfoort.

The breakfast was great. The host is a wonderful person. She was very kind and consideration. Made us a lovely breakfast before we went out. Really liked the location, near the heart of Amersfoort.

Staying on a boat can be a bit cramped, especially for a taller person. Nothing to take away from the host and the place, but just something to be aware of if tight spaces are not your thing.

Great location for a walk into the town. The boat made a nice change to the usual accommodation. We felt well at home here with the tone set by decent coffee and an honour system with the drinks and snacks. The boat was clean and tidy. The communal area was pleasant and somewhat made up for the small rooms.

The room was very small. It would have been nicer if the conversion didn't have so many rooms and instead had fewer bigger rooms, but then this would have increases the price of a stay. For an overnight stay it was fine but would feel cramped for a longer stay. The stairs into the boat were very steep and not recommended for those with mobility limitations.

Super nice experience! This cosy, unique canal boat accommodation provided a great charm, while still providing modern comforts. The location was ideal providing easy access to the vibrant city centre of Amersfoort while still offering a peaceful retreat. And what a host! She is so lovely and kind. And the accommodation is reasonably priced as well, so what's not to love here? Absolutely recommended!

The novelty of staying on a boat was easily matched by the sheer eccentricity of the entrance, guest room and cabin. Such an atmospheric place and unlike any other b&b I've ever stayed at. The room was clean, very smart and everything worked well. The breakfast was to die for and Elene was the most charming and efficient hostess - thank you for a wonderful stay experience.

A really interesting place to stay, right in the heart of the historic city of Amersfoort. The boat has been equipped really well for it's role as a B&B. Glad we ordered the breakfast, it was superb, and Elene was a great host and provided lots of useful information about the area.

The room was well-equipped with it's own en-suite facilities, but was quite small. This is not surprising given it's on a boat, but if you like to spread out be aware that it is quite tight for space.
