The setting and location is brilliant, 5-10 mins from everything and everywhere, railway, tram, bars, coffee shops, restaurants, pancake houses, cake shops, red light area etc. Reception staff were very helpful, bar staff attentive and very warm with plenty of advice. The room was perfect for our needs, great canal view, clean and tidy. The cleaning staff were also attentive to all details and very thorough. Beds are comfortable and rooms are warm and secure, good lighting and plenty electrical outlets. Bathrooms are pods but contain everything you need, great shower! The hotel has lovely decor throughout, is generally quiet and you could easily keep yourself to yourself if you prefer. However we found everyone (staff and guests) to be very friendly and happy to share information and experiences whether for eating out, transport or places to visit. When we return to the 'Dam', this is where we want to stay. Thoroughly appreciated and enjoyed our stay.

This hotel is fabulous. I would go back in a heartbeat. The room was beautiful and kept immaculate. The staff are so polite helpful and so sweet (it was my partners birthday and they covered the room with balloons and left a gift with a lovely note). This was beyond our expectations and such a sweet gesture from the staff. We really appreciate everything the staff done for us. Location was amazing 10min walk from the central train station. 10min walk from anne Frank house 10min walk for food/coffee shops Basically as central as you can get! We can wait to book up again.

My stay at Hotel Sebastians was perfect from the time I arrived and throughout my stay in Amsterdam. I must add that the staff is absolutely amazing. They truly made my birthday celebration trip so enjoyable and memorable. The accommodations were stellar! The rooms are decorated in a glam boutique aesthetic while still feeling cozy & unique. The breakfast is made to order, and even that was perfect! The location of the hotel works perfectly for travelers looking to explore, sightsee, shop, and check out locally owned restaurants. The neighborhood in which the hotel is located is also very quiet! Above all the staff at the hotel went out of their way to make my friends and I feel comfortable and that's what made my stay one of a kind! Best birthday I've had in a long time!

I chose the hotel to be near to the station as arriving to & from Schiphol airport with cases. An easy 8 minute walk. I also chose the hotel as I wanted to be looking onto a canal. The hotel was delightful with a luxurious Art Deco scheme, a lift, an atmospheric bar. The rooms were quite small but ours had a cute balcony area, 2 steps down for sitting and watching. Bathroom small and compact but very clean. Very quiet room. All this I would expect in a typical townhouse. There was always someone on the reception desk, they were so helpful, friendly and good fun. Very convenient for walking Amsterdam and some good restaurants.

We didn’t actually have breakfast in the hotel, but we could have chosen exactly what we would have liked the night before, there was no fruit on the menu though, maybe I should have asked. The garden at the back didn’t really exist (in May). I think the price was high for a hotel with no extra facilities. I didn’t like the web photos which were all taken at nighttime.

The room was comfortable and clean. It was decorated nicely. It had a wonderful view of the canal. We were on the third floor making it very quiet for sleeping.

For the price, I had expected some small amenities such as a bellman to take our luggage to the room and down to our driver when checking out. The bottled water in the room was not free and should have been. There were robes but no slippers. There were also no extra pillows for sleeping in the closet. I'm sure we could have requested some of these but again for the price when compared to comparable hotels, I shouldn't have needed to.

The staff at this Hotel were very pleasant and helpful. Our room was room 229 and we loved it. It is typical Amsterdam we had a great view of the canal. This room had a lot of charm but may not be suitable to all. We were at the top floor of the hotel and had high ceilings but they also had two beams going through the sitting area that were no higher than 5 and a half feet high. This added to the charm but may not be to everyone's liking. Beds were comfortable showers great with plenty of hot water. The bar area and breakfast area were charming as well. Tony greeted us at check in gave us an overview of the area. Our rooms were ready even though we were a little early. Location could not have been better. We were located on a canal in the Jordaan region of Amsterdam about 2 blocks from the Anne Frank house, half mile from Central Station, and Dam Square. The furthest point was probably the museum area and that was no further than one and a half miles and it was a simple pleasant walk. Melanie worked the front in the morning and Shaina (may have spelled name incorrect ) worked evening both were helpful and pleasant. The rooms and beds were very comfortable and kept clean and well appointed. I would recommend this Hotel to anyone looking for Dutch charm and perfect location. I would stay there again.

The hotel could use a change of carpets and a little freshening up.

Hotel Sebastian has an excellent location. You can walk everywhere; museums, stores, restaurants, cafes, train station. Room was exceptional; spacious, clean and design and colors were wonderful. Bathroom was large with a bathtub and a shower, 2 sinks with large drawers. Plus, bathroom floor was heated!! Lots of towels in addition to bathrobes. Useful amenities were not forgotten. There were a coffee machine and a kettle which I appreciated since I mostly drink tea. Mattress and pillows were so comfortable! I have back and knee pain, so I am sensitive to uncomfortable beds. However. I was nicely surprised with the comfort of the bed! The thing that really cheered me up was the beautiful magnolia tree by our window. It was in full bloom and birds chirping around it…it took my breath away… We had no issue with noise or bad smell. On the contrary, it was extremely quiet during the night. Finally, front desk staff were outstanding. They were always there when we had questions or need help. I look forward to staying at Sebastian’s again!

Breakfast is nice and really good for the price, but it can be improved a little bit.

I loved this hotel...location was right on a quiet canal and our room faced the water. The decor is beautiful and the bed was amazing as was the bathroom. Would recommend upgrading to the canal front room--loved it! Very close walk to Centraal Station for the train/metro and all the shops, Anne Frank House, Dam Square, lots of restaurants and bars..beautiful cobble stone streets. The breakfast was just right to start the morning but lots of restaurants close by if you wanted something bigger/different. Definitely would stay here again for the staff and the hotel itself!

There wasn't a true bartender at the bar so despite all the alcohol there, the menu was limited and the bartender was actually the front desk clerk when we visited so not sure if it was just the timing of when we were there? This is super minor and would be the only thing I could list in this category. Only listed as an FYI to others but still loved the hotel.

The hotel has a boutique hotel vibe and is really well appointed, with incredibly welcoming and helpful staff. The location is perfect for being in the Jordaan area with its great cafes and restaurants and a short walk to the station-but out of that area. The room had a great view on the canal and was really well decorated. It also had a number of very practical features including blockout curtain, aircon, large bathroom with double basins, and plenty of storage space. There is also a lift, which is very useful.

From the impeccable guest rooms and amenities to the friendly and accommodating staff, everything was simply perfect. from the heated towel racks, warm bathroom floor, electric shades, spacious room, comfiest beds, high tech pad in our room. Your staff members were sweet, kind, positive, and went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed and at home. We cannot recommend your hotel enough and only regret not booking a longer stay in Amsterdam. Please keep up the fantastic work! We were in three different countries and 4 hotels during our long Europe family vacation and Your hotel is truly one of the best we have ever stayed at. I can’t wait to come back!
