Beds were clean and comfortable, The location was excellent; we walked a lot but had taxis to get to the airport and to meet our day coach trip as we weren't sure how best to get there otherwise,, We took a tram to get to one destination and were impressed that trams were near the hotel. If we had been there longer we would have used them more. The staff were very happy to book us taxis, which arrived as requested. It was an easy walk to the English Church on Easter morning. The reception staff were very pleasant and the one who took are bags downstairs when leaving did it very willingly. Although we only had small cases we found negotiating them quite scary, especially with bags. (see: what we didn't like)

Not being used to such steep stairs (and a rehab professional) There should have been much better stair rails, especially on the upper flight of stairs, and the lighting could have been better also. The worst bit was the turn near the top. The very dark decor didn't help. As the hotel facilities listed a kettle we were expecting a kettle, mugs and milk, plus coffee and tea. I have just spent a weekend in a budget English hotel where this is standard, I realised that this might be an English idea but perhaps it could have been made clear on the listed facilities, especially as there didn't seem to be any nearby shops. The staff on duty seemed a bit surprised that we wanted more than just the kettle that was provided on request.

It is very accessible by tram and metro. Also, good location - not far from the city centre.

Location, near the Rijk and tram/ metro easy walk via canals to more central locations

I stayed in the basement and I expected the room I got as I was contacted by the hotel explaining the rooms location and limitations, however I was only there for 1 night and I could have upgraded. Room had everything I needed and exceptionally clean. However I would not like to have been there during hot weather as although there is a small window and a floor fan which would have struggled to keep the room cool in hot weather.

Location, value for money, generally very clean, staff were very friendly and nice.

The room was very small so it’s better for a solo traveler, not for couple, and if you’re travelling with big luggage, you won’t have space to open or store the luggage. The walls were pretty thin. The whole evening I could hear conversations and noises from the other rooms. There were some girls who were talking on the phone for so long. The fan in my room were quite dusty as well. The shower leaked water but luckily the floor was heated. I think there were no lift? Not sure because I was in the basement room and I saw only stairs and spiral staircase so if you have big luggages it’s not gonna be pleasant.

Fabulous location on tram Line 4 allowing access to town centre, my work location as well as canals, parks and many restaurants and bars in easy walking or tram distance, as you prefer. Best hotel breakfast I've had in a long time (not cooked): beautifully presented, variety and quantity. The hotel has works going on and they give each room a free drink in compensation for potential disruption - I was never bothered by this work. My birthday occurred during my stay, and they gave me balloons, a card and a free drink, even though I had never mentioned it was my birthday. Staff universally excellent, friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay again.

Although the room was called a 'small' room, so my comment should be considered against that honest description, it was very small indeed, especially for two people. Given the relatively high price - unfortunately normal in Amsterdam - the size of the room meant, to me, it was not great value for money.

The rooms are small yet comfortable and clean. The service was smiling and very attentive- as soon as a problem arose, it was handled with care and a smile. All questions were answered and the staff's (David from reception and others) willingness and attention gave a welcoming familial feeling.

The showers are a little small or there should be a different closure so water won't run out to the bathroom's floor. There's little room to move around in the room and reach windows. Please consider another layer curtains to the windows viewing the inner courtyard walkthrough.

A rich and varied breakfast with fresh products (real orange juice, freshly squeezed... even sliced fruit) and anti-waste as you can take away what you do not eat for a snack during the day. Very good formula, not to be changed. The staff is all very nice, friendly and listening, at every level. The hall is very warm with its sofa around a fireplace (gas but very stylish). The rooms are not large, but functional and clean, and the hall is an excellent place to work. The location is very good, close to the centre - but in a residential area - and 10 minutes walk from the museums, also very well connected to the train station. I would recommend it and will definitely come back.

I have been woken up two nights by a strong smell of mariuana used perhaps by a guest near my room (but this is Amsterdam!! ;)). Perhaps a better door seal would prevent this kind of nuisance

Hotel location is ideal, its not smack bang in the middle of the bust centre but an easy walking distance to everything. Room was comfortable and perfect size as we did not plan on staying in the hotel a lot, very nice entrance and welcomed with a smile

Only problem i found was 4 days before the trip the hotel preauthorised the stay to my card although I had chosen the pay at hotel when arrive which was alot more costly. This was taken off my balance and then when we arrived at the property my card was charged for the full amount again along with the extras I had asked for I had to get the hotel to cancel the pending payment which did not go back on to my balance until the day we were leaving. If I hadn't had other money aside it could have ruined the trip. I don't think a preauthorisation should be taken and if it is then I should not have been charged more money for the privilege of paying at the property

One of the best hotels I stayed at, way beyond my expectations. My 10 month old baby got sick during our stay and the staff was so friendly and helpful they was always there for us and made sure we had new bed sheets and clean stuff for our room. I would definitely recommend the loft for traveling with your family. Worth 1000% your money. Service is amazing, staff is great and hotel rooms are beautiful! I worked at different hotels in Amsterdam and I know this type of service is rare so don’t doubt but book!

Nothing everything was amazing

Loved the lobby/seating area with the fireplace, great books, pleasant soft music. The continental breakfast was generous, fresh and tasty. Staff was generally very pleasant and helpful.

I knew my basement room would be small, but I thought steps would have been taken for warmth. The heater wasn't very effective, and there were no rugs or carpets on the cold hard floor. No bedside table, just a tiny shelf. There was only one restaurant in the immediate area.
