Excellent communication with the host/person in charge of the reservation; lots of space in the room, very comfortable bed, big shower and bathroom area, good lighting, very cute area - close to a few shops and restaurants.

Steep stairs to get up to the room (hard to maneuver with large luggage), outlets not easy to access and use for electronics, quite a distance (approximately 30 min walk) from Dam Square. Also, because of the way the ventilation was set up, the window was open a bit to accommodate the apparatus used, which brought in street noise. Also, could clearly hear other guests talking (loudly) inside the building, at times.

Commune Suites is a small Bed & Breakfast style accommodation, located in a beautiful residential neighborhood. there are 3 guest rooms and a kitchen. Alex is a gracious host and offered great ideas for sightseeing and restaurants for our short stay. the rooms have a modern style, large comfortable beds, very nice shower/ wet room facilities, coffee and kettle. a short walk to main streets and canal area. pleasant walk to museum area.

as mentioned in the booking, there is a steep flight of stairs to get up to the first level of rooms; Alex met us at the property upon arrival and helped with bags. It may be challenging for anyone with mobility issues.

The room was a good size and the bed was large and very comfortable. The host Alex provided an excellent breakfast prepared freshly each morning. The property only has three guest rooms so it feels more like staying in a private house. The location is in a quiet residential road but very well placed for the museums and other main tourist sites in Amsterdam.

It would have been nice to be able to open a window for a bit of fresh air but this wasn't possible.

Having experienced the Commune Suite firsthand, I can confidently say that this will be my go-to accommodation whenever I find myself in Amsterdam again. The combination of a prime location, serene surroundings, spacious quarters, and a host that feels more like family makes it an unbeatable choice. I eagerly look forward to returning to the Commune Suite for another delightful stay in the future

Elegant, relaxing and warmly welcoming. The suite is spacious and comfortable, well equipped and centrally located for exploring the stunning city of Amsterdam. Fresh continental breakfast prepared by host Alex, who obliged us with our many questions about the city, best places for coffee and our onward journey. Highly recommended.

Not a negative for us, but consider that the charm of staying in a residential Dutch property is that the stairs are quite steep and may be challenging to those with mobilty restrictions.

Upon arrival, the host allowed us to drop off our bags and explore the city before checking in later that afternoon. The location is ideal, everything is within walking distance and you are also tucked away from the noise of the busy city! The rooms are very spacious, they are lovely and bright with space to hang up clothing or store suitcases. Our room also has a mini fridge which was the perfect size to store large water bottles, especially during the height of summer!

There seemed to have been a mix up with our booking, originally we were not provided with the room I had viewed and booked online - instead shown one I had never seen before/ advertised anywhere. However, the matter was sorted instantly by Alex who was very helpful throughout our stay! The stairs are very steep and small (especially if travelling up to the 2nd floor), meaning rooms are inaccessible if you require wheelchair access. Additionally, the floor boards above were extremely noisy, with the surrounding walls also being very thin. Despite this, I would definitely recommend this accommodation to anyone travelling to Amsterdam.

Fantastic location-near Center, easy walk everywhere! Sleek, spacious, comfortable, well appointed room and bathroom with lovely tub! On top floor. We were only in transit, so only stayed one night. Alex our host was lovely, and made a delicious breakfast with good conversation. Will definitely come back next time we're in Amsterdam!

We loved everything, but heads up, if you have difficulty with stairs do not request top floor room. Very steep stairs.

Well located in a quiet street in downtown, walking distance to lots of places like Heineken Experience or Canal. Plenty of good food nearby, esp a Thai restaurant and a steakhouse on the same street. Staff being quite helpful and friendly. The embedded heater somewhat didn't work during our stay and the staff kindly provided a backup heater to us to keep warm during the night.

Pretty difficult stairs esp if you are with heavy luggage, of course the staff always helped guest to lift the luggage to their room upstairs.
