October 2023
The Delphi was excellent in every aspect of a typical hotel (very clean property and rooms, excellent cleaning service, great amenities, great location, etc.). My review will focus on some of the things that made us feel special and welcomed. First, the free coffee deal (it's a nice big coffee machine that can dispense different types of drinks, and the coffee bar is always stocked up). I haven't seen Coffee with milk provided free in many EU hotels. For me, this was an awesome touch. Second, the hotel has a stock of GVB (Amsterdam city transport system) cards for purchase at their lobby (I asked for it just to check). I found this very convenient since we had the ability to use the trams/metro right from when we checked in. The tram stop nearby didn't seem to have a ticket dispenser and I'm not sure how far I would have to go to get the tickets if the hotel hadn't offered this perk. Third, the hotel staff were SUPER helpful with multiple small requests. We encountered a (light) rainy day during our stay, but we were able to borrow umbrellas from the hotel (for a small refundable deposit per umbrella) and go about our day as usual. We were able to get change for our cash (something that we—surprisingly—struggled with at other big hotels in our trip). We also had the misfortune of a broken suitcase, which the hotel was kind enough to help us dispose after we got a new one. They also have a service to book airport transfers. I didn't use it since I had an online booking, but found the hotel's taxi rates slightly lower than my booking. Finally, they had a nice welcome basket with some chocolate, stroopwafel, chips, a couple of small water bottles, a discount coupon for restaurants, etc. for us when we checked in. This was more than what we had experienced in other hotels we stayed during our EU trip (3 or 4-star hotels in Paris and Barcelona).
There's nothing not to like with The Delphi. I rated location 9/10 since there's a 3-5 min walk to the nearest tram stop and it's a 10-15 min tram ride to the city center (really nitpicking here, it's not a big deal — it's even possible to walk into the city in about 20-25 mins). The other mild issue we faced was a bit of noise from the road (since we kept our windows open to enjoy the amazing weather without A/C). Our friends reported that there was still some noise even with the windows closed (they had a room facing the road). Slightly better sound-proofing on the windows would make the rooms perfect, but I really don't think anyone should pass up on staying at the Delphi if this is the only issue they're concerned about.

It is a centrally located property in the heart of the city in the Ouid West area of Amsterdam ( A leafy Lane) and the tram station is just around the corner. The staff was very extremely helpful right from arranging taxis to helping us with quick meal options when we requested. Also plenty of restaurants around for meals and that helps since the Hotel Delphi only serves breakfast. Vondelpark is just about 20 mins walk and many sightseeing options just a tram away. Enjoyed our stay at the Delphi and would definitely visit again. A special mention about the MR MORRIS at the Reception who a such a great help during our stay at the Delphi. Indeed a hardworking and pleasant personality.

The location was lovely – a peaceful and quiet area. Also, it was super close to the trams. The rooms were cozy and comfortable. The staff were super nice, always ready to help and very friendly. I once mentioned to a woman in the kitchen (I'm really sorry I didn't get her name) that I can't drink regular milk. That's why I was making my hot chocolate with water. Since then, whenever she saw me having breakfast, she would bring a glass of warm oat milk without me even asking for it. It was so thoughtful of her and I really appreciated it 🙏🏻.
In terms of what stood out, there's really nothing I didn't like, but I did notice that the breakfast was a bit smaller than what I've seen in other places, although it was still sufficient. Overall, I had a great stay!

We chose this location because in the past we have enjoyed staying in this neighborhood, although at a different hotel. Every Delphi employee we encountered was friendly, helpful, and made sure we had everything we needed to make our stay pleasant and comfortable. Our room was beautifully clean and quiet. A breakfast buffet was available each morning for a reasonable price, and we loved the coffee/cappuccino machine in the lobby where we could get refills throughout the day.
We liked everything.

Beautifully furnished hotel with an exceptionally friendly front desk. The room was lovely with a nice view of the surrounding streets and was spotlessly clean. The amenities provided were generous and ample and had everything we could possibly have needed for a longer stay, although we only stayed for one night.
We had a comfort twin room which was just a king bed frame with two separate mattresses on it that slid apart and off the side of the bed occasionally. It was no problem for us, but would not be so good for people who are not comfortable still essentially sharing a bed.

The hotel and the room is tastefully decorated. It has a beautiful common area which serves coffee, tea and fresh fruit during the day. Super fast wi-fi is also good. The location is good too - 5 mins walk from a tram station which then takes you to everywhere needed. The neighbourhood is quiet.
I am a bit irritated with the power socket. The room helpfully comes with an electric kettle which is live essential for me. But there is no power outlet at the desk except underneath, 10cm above the floor. You will need to move and put the whole thing on the floor, and squat on the floor, to make tea.

The receptionist who checked us in was very friendly and made us feel immediately welcomed. He even informed us that our room was ready even though we arrived before check in time, which was greatly appreciated since we had been travelling since early that morning. The room was clean, comfortable and air conditioned and the basket of snacks was a nice touch. The hotel is also located in a pleasant neighbourhood with nice cafes and restaurants etc. We were only a 15 minute walk from the Museumplein and a 5 minute walk away from a tram which took us everywhere we needed to go in the city!

The location is good, not nosy and reachable by the tram. Nearby wonderful park - Vondelpark. Also overall appearance of the hotel is stylish. Breakfast was tasty. Also, we had a welcome gift with Dutch waffles- thank you! Room was spacious and with kettle and tees.
They took deposit - honestly it feels so strange, I stayed in a lot of hotels but I was never charged me a deposit. So, I wouldn’t expect it from 4 star hotel. Personal was kinda relaxed and slow (but friendly). Room wasn’t clean enough - there was a dust layer on the bed tables and in the bathroom near ventilation. Also, I suppose it’s because of the season - price was really high.

Excellent quiet location but within walking distance of centre and public transport. The Delphi is beautifully looked after, it has cool vibes and the staff is friendly but professional. It is not like your usual big hotel chain, it has a more intimate quality. The room was perfect for one traveller, with a small fridge and kettle/coffee etc. The beautiful lounge and its free coffee machine is available during the day. Breakfast includes all options one can think of, it is a self service breakfast. The staff allowed me to drop off my bags early as I had landed at 7am in Amsterdam and they arranged for my room to be ready a little bit ahead of the usual check in time.
Nothing.

The hotel is nice, the room I stayed was reasonably dimensioned, especially for Amsterdam standards, and had everything needed. The neighbourhood where the hotel is located is nice, there are bars, restaurants and shops nearby and the tram stop to go to the city centre is also close by.
The hotel is not really in the centre, you need to take public transport to go there. Amsterdam has always been expensive for hotels, but now it is almost insane. In this madness, the price of this hotel looked reasonable, but still it is expensive, especially if you are alone, as I was.
