The hotel is small and intimate with alot of character . It’s located a few minutes walk from a busy shopping street with some nice restaurants and bars. Very importantly the no 5 and 24 trams stop on that street and can bring you to Central Station and The Jordaan and can also bring you to Station Suid which links directly to the airport . Breakfast is really nice and relaxed and all the staff were friendly and professional . All in all it was a lovely place to stay in Amsterdam . It’s not in the centre but the links are so good that it’s not a problem and the more peaceful area is a nice contrast to sightseeing in the city centre all day . I would highly recommend this hotel.

Lovely hotel, has so much character. I loved the decor, reminiscent of 1930s style. Very nice bar area with comfortable red velvet chairs you can lounge in while enjoying a drink or two before bed. Room was nice, very clean with a comfortable bed and pillows you can snuggle into after a long day of exploring the city. Breakfast was a buffet with a nice and delicious selection of food to eat. Hotel is in a nice quiet area of the city, so you can get a good night sleep. It's a very short tram ride to the city centre (tram no. 24) and even shorter ride to the museum quarter (tram no. 5). Both trams leaving from the same stop, that is 3 minute walk from hotel, called Beethovenstraat (as the name of the road). Museum Quarter is 15 min walking distance if you want to walk it. Book tickets in advance (online only) for Anne Frank House and Van Gogh Museum as they get sold out really fast. From Schiphol Airport, using public transport, take any train going to Station Zuid (South Station, just 1 stop with train no.3). When you come out of the station walk straight, climb the stairs and you'll come out onto the road with tram stops. Catch tram no. 5, ride for 2 stops to Beethovenstaat and walk for 3 min to Apollofirst Hotel. You can also catch Airport Express Bus 397 from Schiphol that stops near the hotel. If it's your first time in Amsterdam, be aware, there are A LOT of cyclists. It's amazing and I loved it, but some of them are so fast, you wouldn't see them until it's too late, so be aware of what is happening around you. It was a wonderful stay, in a great hotel and a city that is very unique indeed.

Rooms are lovely and comfortable, location is also great as it’s round the corner from a tram stop which takes you up and into the city centre

Our bathroom sink was leaking underneath Bht aside from that no issues at all. Bed was comfortable, the place was really clean and staff were great.

We enjoyed our stay at ApolloFirst very much! The front desk staff was very welcoming and knowledgeable, always greeting us with a cheerful hello. The location was fantastic. We were within walking distance to many attractions, and there were multiple trams nearby and metro within walking distance. The location ws calm and serene, with views of a park. I appreciated that we could open the windows for cool fresh air. The room was larger than usual, with a table and chairs.

We had no idea there was a refrigerator in the room--though the blame falls mostly on us. It was in a cabinet built into the desk. It would have been very convenient to have used it during our four-day stay.

Excellent location. Close enough to walk to the museum quarter but also plenty of public transport if needed. It was lovely to walk around the neighbourhood with many local shops and eateries. The area has a very pleasant vibe. The hotel faces a peaceful green space with trees and benches. There was a sculpture display during our stay. Our roomhad a nice view of the green space in front. The room was clean. The bed was very comfortable. We slept very well. There were tea and coffee-making facilities but we didn't use them. The bathroom was clean. The in-bath shower was good and easy to operate. We enjoyed the continental buffet breakfast plus some ready-cooked foods. Good variety. Very helpful and friendly staff, especially Sam who served us in the breakfast room every morning.

Bathroom: there were no hooks for clothes. Only one small bath-towel hanging bar above the bathtub near the shower. The towels (changed everyday) were thin and one day I found myself using one with a small hole. In this day and age, I had expected there to be a climate change consciousness in allowing guests to reuse towels at their discretion.

The Apollofirst Boutique Hotel was terrific. No two ways about it. The service, the comfort, the breakfast all were superb. Perhaps most memorable were the efforts management took to help us replace a broken nebulizer, which was vital to my ability to breathe and enjoy the Amsterdam. They didn't delegate this chore to staff, two executives saw to it themselves. Other staff were helpful and gracious, and multilngual. Breakfast, hot and cold, was delicious, all the more so because of the environs. Diners could choose from a beautiful indoor space lit by chandeliers or a quiet garden through French doors. We developed a fondness for two brothers who saw to diners' every need. A well-stocked hotel bar offered other options later in the day and evening. The entire interior is beautiful and well maintained. The elevator is small, but that only added to its charm. Our room had a balcony overlooking the garden. The hotel is on a tree-lined residential street around the corner from restaurants, shops and, importantly, a tram stop.

Sorry, my wife and I couldn't come up with anything to complain about. Our stay really was perfect. We wholeheartedly recommend it.

Entering this glamorous hotel is like stepping onto a film set from the 1920s with its black and gold furniture and marble floor. We loved our 3 night stay here at the Apollofirst. The staff were very helpful, giving us tram routes, advice for taxis, as well as choices for dining in the area. Our room was large by European standards, and we appreciated the tea and coffee making facilities. The garden and breakfast room were pretty and welcoming, and the food was plentiful in quantity and choice. We enjoyed the quiet location away from the noise of the crowds yet conveniently serviced by trams into central Amsterdam or the Zuid railway station.

There was nothing we didn’t like.

We loved this hotel for its staff, comfort and all around feel. The area was lovely although a smidge out of the way from the city centre - peaceful and upscale though. The breakfast was lovely although pricey for me, as I start the day with only coffee and toast. The comfort room was a bit small for two however the incredibly comfortable bed made up for it. The deluxe room was very spacious with that same awesome bed. Highly recommend!!!

The only thing that annoyed me was that I asked to rent a bike for only 15 minutes - I had left my phone at the car rental - and I was told I could only rent for 4 hours minimum! Thought that was silly.

The facility matched the description. It was very comfortable and my one stay of luxury during my holiday. Breakfast was excellent. All staff were very pleasant.

There was no air conditioning running in the bar and public areas in the afternoons when I would come in after a big day out and want a relaxing beverage… so it was more comfortable to go to my room. The bar area in that regard seemed un-inviting. Also the person at the desk didn’t come back to offer or ask if further refreshments were wanted..the one time I did stop.
