The hotel is in a very quiet location. It is outside the center. The beautiful old town is easy to reach by foot. The staff is always kindly to help with restaurant reservations. We liked the "lounge" with self-service, where you can have a little drink and meet other guests. We had a nice chat with people from Switzerland. Those who still master it can put on records on a turntable.

The room was lovely, and the breakfast was a delicious buffet. The location was even better than expected - only a short 10-minute walk from the city center. The staff was very friendly! They let us drop off our luggage earlier, and check in later than originally stated. They were super accommodating with our changed check-in time, sent us texts, and called us to inform us of all the necessary information!

Our room overlooked a park where sheep grazed on grass around a pond. We sat on the balcony every evening. The bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was modern. The breakfast was delicious and seating was on a sun porch.

We rented bicycles from the hotel but they are simple 3-speed bikes with back pedal brakes. I am accustomed to hand brakes and therefore could not stop in time to avoid an accident. I recommend going to a bike shop in the town.

Old hotel building is charming within easy walking (10 minutes) of main city square. Very calm an peaceful next to canal. Friendly and helpful staff. Relaxed atmosphere. We had a nice room in new wing. Huge modern bathroom and small terrace with table and chairs in garden. Air conditioning worked very well which was great in the middle of a heatwave!

No real facilities as such but not a big drawback. However nice lounge with self-service bar.

The staff was incredibly nice, the room was wonderful, the food was great and the location was excellent (by a gorgeous park near the center of the city).

There were renovations at our time of arrival, which we were not aware of. The sound really didn’t bother us much, but it would have been good to know beforehand so we could have brought earphones for the morning.

The very spacious room with a sitting area for 4, the cleanliness, tha varied breakfast, and how beautiful the hotel architecture and decor is - it felt very warm, this place clearly has a history the owners have wanted to preserve. Most family rooms are crammed bedrooms but ours here felt like we could spend the day there playing games and drinking tea while in most other hotels that would need a costly suite. There was also a lovely lounge downstairs. Plus the location was great too: within walking distance to the city centre, but immersed in green, AND with own parking area. We'll definitely try to go back.

Minor detail: the bit of roof above the children's window did not have a gutter so we heard the raindrops falling on the roof just below the window through the night.

The building has a big "wow-factor". The interior and stained-glass windows give it a very luxurious feeling. The staff was very friendly and helpful, although after 20:00 there is no staff on-site anymore. We were upgraded to the bridal suite which you can imagine was really pretty and spacious. The location of the property is great, a quiet place in walking distance of all the sights. Our bikes could be stored in an open bike shed.

We had to book a slot for breakfast to prevent crowding. Since the slot was very specific (8:10) we expected it to be quiet. The opposite was true. There was no one checking the reservations and the breakfast was an open buffet. There was way too much movement and people in a small place. It was not corona safe - and it knocks some points of an otherwise really great stay. In this price bracket I expect a bit more coordination by staff and safety measures in place.

Beautiful hotel, very friendly helpful staff and very good breakfast with a varied choice of food to suit everyone. Access to a lounge with an honesty bar available for clients to serve themselves with a wide variety of drinks and pay on check-out. Amazing trust.

Breakfast at an appointed time, but excellent in what is has to offer

I was on the top floor in a room with very small high window, so the view was limited. And the bathroom had a small glass sputter door, so that water came everywhere

Location beautiful, breakfast good, staff very welcoming and a beautiful building. Loved the decor.

2 small things that would make it perfect:1) the tv was fixed at the wall in one position which made it difficult to operate from the bed. A flexible mounting would be good. 2) the bathroom sink was slow to empty… if housekeeping could regularly treat with pipe cleaning fluid…?
