The hotel is great. Very good value for money, pet friendly and the staff were very professional and accommodating

Unfortunately right next to the hotel is now emergency housing and across the road is the Auckland city mission. We were twice followed and intimidated by people and the morning we checked out there had been an assualt right outside the hotel and the road was blocked off by emergency services. Very unfortunate as this is completely outside of the hotels control and the hotel itself is lovely and very good value for money. That aside the hotel is a stones throw from the Sky City complex so is well located

We loved the vibe of the hotel and how helpful the staff was for us. We really liked that. There was a restaurant downstairs where we could take a vantage of the breakfast buffet or slip in for a meal. Anytime of the day our room was super clean and comfortable.

There was not quite enough room for our things. There was not room on the one bathroom rack to hang two towels and a hand towel, and there were no hooks anywhere to hang anything on. There was only one suitcase rack so we had to put our other suitcase on the floor, they were not quite enough in the closet. it was not quite set up to bring dinner into our room Even though room service was offered.

Super clean and very well-appointed. Everything was in working order, the location was great and the room had an iron and ironing board, Tea & coffee facilities, aircon, ceiling fan (with remote and dimmable light) and opening windows. It was fairly basic but we certainly didn't want for anything at all. Staff were great. Location was surprisingly quiet. Will definitely stay here again. Hotels so close to the CBD in Auckland are generally really expensive, and I had very low expectations of this place, I was delighted to find it was so great.

The little fridge in the room made some crazy noises. The sign says to hang your towels up but it needs a larger towel rack (I used the wardrobe bar). That's scraping the bottom of the barrel to find something I didn't like. Everything was great.

Excellent location. Walking distance to landmarks, CBD and a bus stop across the road. Room spacious and clean. On-site restaurant a bonus with a great menu. Staff extremely friendly and helpful. We had 2 separate bookings for consecutive nights and they happily combined the 3 nights into 1 booking so we didn’t have to change rooms.

Couldn’t really fault anything other than face washers are not provided. The restaurant was not open on Sunday and Monday evenings which was annoying despite the sign out front still saying open 7 days.

The Auckland City Hotel looks really cool inside and it’s interesting to read about its history. The location was exactly what we were looking for to experience and explore downtown Auckland. It’s a stones throw from Sky City, which was perfect. Room service from the restaurant downstairs was also a big plus as we got in late and didn’t want to take the kids out into the city at night.

It was a little difficult to find the parking garage, having to use your phone to screen cast to the tv (it was slow and complicated), the beds were uncomfortable and the room was either too cold or too hot.

Friendly, well-presented staff, easy to deal with. Situated short walk to Ateo Center and center of city, pubs, viaduct which was awesome, and allowing us to park before check in time was also much appreciated towards filling in time at the viaduct <3

Would have given the hotel a higher review, however milk cartons in fridge were totally frozen, and my partner mentioned we weren't provided with a hand towel, perhaps a slight overlook by staff, but hey hoo, luckily for them I'm pretty easy going and don't wish to getting room staff into trouble as I'm sure they all work hard. Not the hotels' fault, but also believe Auckland council are definitely letting their city down with street cleanliness, up that side of the city, and as walkers, also didn't completely feel safe with areas of poor lighting.

I loved that I was able to change/upgrade to a room with a kitchenette. Staff (Pla) were so friendly and accommodating. The room was clean and fresh and I actually had a great view (even though it was a windy cold day/night. Auckland City Hotel never disappoints. It has the best room rates and the bond is only $50 per night which you get back on checkout. Its my new go-to place in the CBD.

Some suggestions/feedback: 1. Have extra blankets in the rooms please. The rooms have the free standing air-conditioning units with outlets cut ino the wall for the a/c hose leading out of the building into open air, wind comes through the gaps and it gets really cold. 2. Leave instructions on how to turn on the "heat" function on the a/c unit. It tried multiple times and only the cold function worked. No big deal, I just folded the bed covers in half to stay warm 😁. Had a great sleep after that.

Good apartment with all the facilities we required for our stay just up the road from the Sky Tower and not too far to walk into the CBD and waterfront. We had a great stay, used the car park for the 1st day and it was exactly what we required as a family of 4 adults for our first 2 days in NZ before moving to another location.

We hadn't realised that many places in NZ charge 1.5% - 3% on every card transaction including this hotel. I'd prefer to support charities than line the pockets of the banks even more.

I felt safe staying here in a clean space. The staff were helpful and I liked the fact their desk was 24/7. I liked how you had to swipe to use the lift too, felt more secure then other places. My room had a desk and the shower pressure was good. I liked the foyer too, the little touches made it a cool space. Location is a very close walk to the Sky City bus terminal.

You could hear people talking and moving about the hallway. The street outside is quite rough, you need to make sure you are careful especially if you are on your own. $100 deposit upfront (they do return it) but I don't remember reading about that when I booked.

The beds were clean and tidy - I did my usual bed bug inspection and couldn't find any traces so that was good. The location is very central and is very close to a Korean mart and various restaurants so it was ideal for my trip in Auckland. Only a 4 minute walk to Queen Street as well. The room I booked was roomy and had a lot of space so it was generous for 3 people staying. Having a Smart TV was good - I know some hotels will cheap out and only have cable available but it was great to have the options of apps such as Netflix, Youtube and Amazon Prime on the TV. The bathroom was also very clean and tidy, with all the necessary amenities supplied.

The wifi was limited to 2GB - which would have been enough for an individual but there were 3 of us staying in the hotel room. We ended up paying extra to have the unlimited wifi so we could watch movies and shows.
