Loved our stay! Beautiful rooms, great location - easy walk to restaurants, fast and yummy room service, love the pool and sauna, really friendly service. And such a great price!!

Buffet breakfast could’ve had more options. Was basic but still yummy! Eggs bene from the menu had salmon that tasted off (my whole family thought so) chef smelled and didn’t agree, so we assume maybe they just use cheap salmon that is just funky in general. Few things in the room were falling apart, could do with a bit more up keep.

The breakfast was outstanding and exceeded my expectations. The room was great and I enjoyed the pool and sauna.

Was a bit of a wait for breakfast but was fine as there was plenty of comfortable seating available and the staff were great at ushering those waiting into the restaurant when it was their turn.

Overall we enjoyed the accommodation with the spacious room and large bathroom and opted for the club membership with access to an exclusive lounge, which we believe was worth it. Our experience was heightened by the club membership and the great service we received, the food, the drinks and the access to another space to hang out. Grateful for staff member Alastair. The super large bed was so comfortable. The complimentary travel toothbrush, sewing kit, shaving kit, slippers, etc, all well received. Enjoyed the large room with the separate lounge and tv area. Loved the handheld shower head in the bath, which was separate from the actual shower. Found it handy to have the two toilets. Appreciated the decent sized milk in the fridge verses small potels found at other hotels. Grateful for the large bottled water.

The hotel has a grand feel to it but is in need of major updating, which would be exciting to see and experience once done. The pool needs some maintenance on the missing tiles. Sauna needs to cater for gender shared sauna for couples and families verses female one in the female changing room and the same for the males. Games room would be great in a suitable location that allows parents to relax nearby. Spacie machine either didn't work or wasn't turned on. Be good to have a microwave in the room. Couldn't believe we couldn't access Netflix or Chrome cast. This is a must in this day in age. Minior issues exiting the carpark. E.g. touch screen didn't work and when parking is paid for/included in the room package, it should be programmed in to recognise the registration.

The facilities, comfort, and the cleanliness was excellent. The room was well equipped with a great bathroom, with shower and bath. Had to request bathrobes and slippers though. The bed was massive and very comfortable. The staff were excellent, very helpful and friendly.

The bar on site was convenient for a quiet drink with ample comfortable seating, but, quite expensive, considering it's for paying guests. The restaurant could be better, if there was a little more on the menu, especially seafood. Also, in breakfast, it could be improved if there were pots, for tea and coffee, as opposed to filling a cup on a saucer at the hot water station then walking the length of the restaurant to your table, without spilling the contents. Other 5 Star hotels, I have stayed in offer cups and saucers, on the table and pots for the aforementioned.

We have stayed at the Cordis, Auckland (5*) and I can highly recommend The Grand Millennium is SO much better. The rooms are a great size even on a budget, the staff are very helpful including the staff in the kitchen when we requested some cutlery and bowls. Bathroom size was big and they were really well lit. We had a great view to. Location is perfect for walking to Queen St. It's maybe a 5-7 minute walk. Park on level 8 for best parking (that's the reception level) or park on level 10 and wheel your bags down the entry ramps. Parking is $25 for 24hrs self park, right next to the hotel. You can come and go as much as you please within that time.

Not a bad review as we would stay again 100% just picking out things. The pool area had a not inviting feeling it was a dark tiled pool and lightning was "mood lighting" on the high ceilings and some tiles in pool were missing. Parking was tight/small but no complaints thats what you get for a city. If i also had to really nit pick it would be lighting in the room to.lots of lights but a bit brighter would be a bonus. But that was no worries for us.

Club room top floor was quiet with no noisy kids running in the corridors a bonus to sleep in. Buffet breakfast standard but okay, just the urn of coffee was awful being over stewed for some time by 10am Car parking included in Club rate was good. Staff in Club room was very pleasant and helpful with suggestions for nibbles etc Reception staff good, except key did not scan at room once walked the long corridor so had to return to have that sorted.

Nothing except perhaps a view of the Skytower from our room would of been wonderful rather than a carpark and apartment building, but that is Auckland these days.

Decent breakfast that includes hot and cold options. No omelette station or custom offerings. The hotel is equivalent to staying at embassy suites in the US, 3 star at best. But overall adequate and conveniently located. Short walk to casino and tourist attractions. Cheap Uber to waterfront.

Security was an issue. They had a difficult to use security deadbolt on the door. In the US we always have deadbolts on hotel doors, or latch, and in NZ they have this lever that can go left or right. Turn it one way and people can still enter your room. You will need to turn it a specific way (which is not labeled) to prevent someone from keying in your room at night. I had to call hotel security so I could figure it out how to deadbolt my door.

The ease of arrival, greeting was efficient and friendly even with queues waiting , seating in the atrium was relaxing with lovely jazz playing ; room service was prompt with delicious well presented yummy food and beverages; room and bathroom were unexpectedly high quality , lovely shower, clean and well prepared for our occupancy ; breakfast was very enjoyable too and delicious cooked food and buffet.

Found the ability to exit from the carpark during the day a bit confusing and the parking charges exceeded what I was told by $20 even with a passcode. There really was nothing to not like and I am critical. Maybe if I was pressed the armchairs up on the cocktail bar mezzanine could be even more comfortable.

location

our room was not cleaned thoroughly on Sunday day 2 tea/coffee station bench top not wiped over and no facewashers left in bathroom instead 4 hand towels left checking out - there was a tall guy (? named Tim) standing behind reception desk whilst I was left standing to be attended to and waiting to check out- he left the reception desk ( I felt ignored in the process) and he proceeded to approach my wife standing well away from me with our baggage and asked her if she wanted to put the bags into storage at the hotel - go figure- WT?? I thought his his level of customer service was poor - the girl who ultimately checked me out was very pleasant

Had the club lounge package and my room was very clean and well appointed. And I am fussy. Lots of room and loved having a bath as well as shower. Very quiet up on the 11th floor. Breakfast included which was lovely. Big bottle of water in my room on arrival was great. Club lounge facilities awesome, and pre dinner drinks and snacks were really good. Location was good for me as I had my car and the parking was included as well and access easy. Staff were great.

The young concierge needs training a bit better. Parked my car out the front because I didn't know where to go on arrival. Wasn't busy and and he just ignored me and my heavy bags. Had to ask for help, then got vague directions. Was raining too and didn't tell me about the access through the hotel to the car park. Lovely front desk staff got me sorted though.
