It ticked most of the boxes we care about.... Good space/chairs to relax (not the bed), a comfortable king bed, good shower, clean, a kitchenette, patio with a couple of chairs outside, and a convenient location (ability to easily walk to town). They also have a washer/dryer ($2 NZ each) which we really appreciated.

I would have liked a bit better kitchenette setup with a better microwave. We like to cook breakfast in, and having only a microwave and toaster was a bit limiting. I learned to make omelets in the microwave though and they were okay. The Microwave could have been more powerful. I think the addition of a hot plate with a spatula would have helped a lot - maybe they are worried about fire hazards. Wifi was a bit weak

The staff lovely, the place very clean and lovely comfy couches.Kitchen well equipt.All the basics needs provided. Central to everything. Grounds well kept. A homely place.and loved the resident dogs so cute.

The only thing that was a problem was the space to get around the bed for one person to get to the bathroom and a lack of a wardrobe, there was a hanging space at before mentioned space at bottom of bed but totally unsuitable as you needed the space..Another bed in the room maybe not necessary? And a rejig?

We needed a 2-bed central self-contained Nelson apartment for our family that didn't cost the earth and Waimarie on Riverside ticked all the boxes. Very convenient location with off street parking and within walking distance to the CBD, Riverside pool, Queens gardens. The apartment is cosy with a decent sized fridge.

Small things that maybe the owner isn't aware of. The hot water is scalding hot and difficult to temper in the shower, recommend lowering the temperature of the HWC by a few degrees. A cooking pot needs replacing as it's base doens't sit flush with the hob. Otherwise, everything was fine. Thank you.

Very nice, albeit quirky room up a flight of stairs but with private terrace overlooking trees. All the facilities we needed were in place and the location was excellent for walking into town and along the river to the park. Owners were happy for us to leave car in car park after we checked out, so that we could go for a walk to the local botanic gardens.

Parking space was a little tight, and not helped by pick-up in the next space not parking properly. But I've seen a lot worse!

This was a delightful place for our 3 night stay , the host of the motel was just lovely gave us some good tips on the local area ,the 1 bed Apartment was so comfortable + clean ,, easy walking + right in town , laundry facilities available , cooking + ample kitchen appliances + utensils top notch ,had such a homely feel I really loved our stay + would totally recommend this motel if in Nelson 😀

Breakfast not available. Friendly manager. Excellent location by Maitai river, walkway/cycleway Handy for Suter Art Gallery and cafe. Handy location for dining out and cafes.

Shower and toilet on the small side but persons were smaller when the Motel was originally built. Not obese like some people today! However, that was just a minor issue.

We stayed before (previous review) and after (this review) hiking the Abel Tasman. Like prior stay, this Queen room was recently renovated, upstairs with private balcony + 2 outdoor chairs, screened by tree. Located near supermarket and Suter Art gallery. It's close to town and Centre of NZ, an oval where first game ever in NZ with rugby rules was played and above which is THE first trig point made in South Island from which all measurements are calculated - it offers stunning views over Nelson and in the opposite direction beaut rural hills. Helpful staff.

Our host Ali was attentive and checked with me about arrival time and progress in getting there on the day. Our self catered apartment had all we needed. The supermarket is one block away and restaurants within a few blocks. Although we were close to the main streets of Nelson it was very quiet at night. I'm a light sleeper and had no troubles with noise despite occasional noises from other apartments. The apartment was clean and looked well-maintained. We thought it was good value for money and met all our expectations.

Great location, close to all amenities and riverside walks. Very friendly hosts who made our stay relaxing and comfortable. 2 bed apartment was clean and spacious with everything we required for our stay

Only a minor grumble, the bed was too soft and springy for us.

Clean and comfortable one bedroom apartment. Location close to riverwalk, grocery store, and downtown. Great place for multiday stay and day trips from Nelson. Owners onsite, friendly and accommodating. Would stay here again!

Honestly, can't think of anything that didn't like.
