It's a beautiful hotel with a great mountain view. The staff is awesome, especially Marcello :) he has lots of ideas what to do (try the coffee tour!) and he makes the best cocktails The breakfast was delicious and a little bit different every day. There are lots of flowers between the buildings and sometimes you see colibris flying around

the walls are a lite bit thin, thus at night we could hear the neighbours upstairs walking and the ones next door in the bathroom the hotel itself has no restaurant and it takes about half an hour to walk downtown - The Rock is one of the closest restaurants about 20min away by foot and really nice

Absolutely stunning property with views and a river. Hummingbirds and butterflies everywhere. Coming back to that pool and spa everyday was decadent. the breakfasts were very good. I loved everything about our stay. We rented a car in town (Alto Boquete) at Cowboy Cars and it worked out great to have the freedom to move at our own pace. It's far enough away from the town center that we really needed it. the hotel staff did seem to have a lot of taxi/driver contacts to get you where you needed to go quickly. Marcelo seemed to run this place with pride and joy. He made our stay very easy.

Our room was a great size. The shower was amazing and had great water pressure. The garden between the rooms and lobby is beautiful. The pool and spa have a great view along with the breakfast patio. The staff was so helpful and friendly. Mauricio helped us book our shuttle to and from Boco Del Toro. He recommended many great places to eat and helped us get a tax into town many times. The location is a little far from the main part of town but is totally worth staying at. Wish we could have utilized the fire pit but was closed every time we came back from dinner.

Wish the bar, fire pit, pool, and spa stayed open later.

Marcelo was so helpful during our stay and is an all around great guy! The Palo Alto is extremely lucky to have him. The hotel has impeccably beautiful gardens and is quite serene with the sound of birds. Our room had an amazing view of Volcan Baru and we enjoyed watching as the light and weather changed up at the top. The outdoor bar provides a full lovely breakfast with friendly service and views of the river. In the evening the bar is quite romantic with a fireplace to keep you warm. We enjoyed having a drink at sunset (with Marcelo bartending) and then relaxing in the hot tub after a half day of hiking. The hotel far exceeded our expectations!

The property was amazing and located perfectly on a beautiful and tranquil quite romantic flowing stream overlooking the mountains. The hot tub and infinity pool we indulged in a few times and once during a rain storm which was pretty magical. Our room was perfect. Breakfast was outstanding. They even had mimosas and bloody Mary’s which was a huge plus. The ladies in the kitchen cooked up a killer breakfast. My wife and I needed a ride to dinner one night and the owner was nice enough to drop us off. I can’t say enough great things about this place. If you’re able to get a chance to stay here, it’s a wonderful experience.

The location of the hotel was perfect, close to town but just on the outskirts so it was nice and quiet. Our room overlooked the river so to hear the noise of the rushing water was very peaceful. The room was comfortable for our family of four. We enjoyed the hot tub and the swimming pool and the grounds were beautifully maintained. The included breakfast was light but delicious and the staff were very friendly. We will definitely stay here again next time we are in this cute town!

I would have loved to sleep in a King bed, but that didn’t take away from our stay.

Everything was perfect, beautiful view, beautiful property and very friendly staff. Sleeping at night with the cool breeze and the sound of river was very soothing. Breakfast was also very good, the coffee along with the fresh fruit and of course the main was awesome. The only thing was that we spent just the 4 nights, should have planned to stay longer.Needless to say we really enjoyed our stay.

The pool was a little cool but wants your in your good to go. This is not a negative as a cool pool can be very rejuvenating.

The Inn at Palo Alto exceeded our expectations. The rooms were unique, clean, and very comfortable. The bathroom was roomy and clean, and the shower had string hot water. The grounds were absolutely beautiful. And the view of the mountains with sounds of the stream running was so soothing. But what made this property rate 10 or above was the friendly staff that made you feel welcome and like family. The breakfast was delicious with several choices. We loved the town and found everything to be delightful .

Loved everything

The gardens were gorgeous. The pool, jacuzzi, and bar all on the river were in a beautiful setting. The rooms had a craftsmen woodsy look and were generously large. Quiet area.

The hotel had breakfast but no other meals and it was too far to walk to other restaurants. There was no elevator, but only two stories. There was not generally a porter to help with bags, but the staff would when available. The room interior was, again, woodsy, and not modern refinement.

Friendly staff, good breakfast, quiet location, nice gardens, hot water in shower was plentiful and quick, wifi worked well, reasonably close to town but not within walking distance.

Beds were not particularly comfortable, bathroom was very small, despite being advertised we could not hear the river from our room, no restaurant service (except included breakfast) although lots of restaurants in town, limited bar service hours, bathroom amenities limited and not replenished during stay, no hair dryer, towels were not very plush
