Excellent value proposition plus the stuff was extremely welcoming and friendly. Specifically, Oxana from the reception was the one helping us with questions, and she was very helpful and attentive to details

The bathroom and the toilet are not separated from the bedroom. While it’s technically possible to get privacy while using both, it’s impossible to use either one without waking your roommate up when doing so at night or before the other person wakes up

Amazing location and facilities. Extra large rooms and comfortable beds. Everything is greatly designed, the pool area is amazing and the access to the beach, too. This is the perfect holiday destination.

Room cleaning could be more thorough - it was mostly making the bed and cleaning the floor. For a 5 star resort we would have expected some extra entertainment offers.

the room was lovely and the view just amazing. the hotel has good access to the beach and the facilities were very well maintained.

the dinner buffet was not worth it. luckily we only booked breakfast and decided to have the dinner buffet for one night only. the food was not what one would expect from a 5* hotel. very standard food. the environment of the restaurant had some sort of canteen feeling. however, other than that the hotel is amazing.

Location is perfect, right on Salgados sandy beach. The grounds, beautifully manicured with lush palmtrees and lots of green, always the backdrop view on the sea. The rooms are trendy and very spacious, very comfortable for a family of 4. The spa treatments are high quality at a very good price (internationally speaking). We know the Algarve well, for us this is one of its top locations. We have been at Vidamar before, came back this year and hope to come back again next year!

Arriving to the room at 2:30pm after lunch and a morning at the beach and finding out that it's not been cleaned up yet ... I ended up making the beds myself otherwise would not be comfortable. After a lot of insisting with both housekeeping and the reception we finally managed to get the to come in the mornings but it wasn't without quite a bit of hassle and follow-up. This is not compatible with the 5 stars that the hotel otherwise deserves.

The staff were so friendly and helpful. Food was delicious. Hotel was spotless.

We went for half board and I didn’t like how water had to be purchased with dinner but was part of the breakfast.

Beautiful relaxing hotel 15 minutes drive from old town. Our room overlooked a gorgeous golf course. Fantastic facilities (indoor & outdoor pool areas). We used the thermol pool one of the days 20e per person, definitely worth it we had the pool to ourselves (bring swim hats ). The Adults only outdoor pool area was closed as it's off season (April 2023) however there are plenty of other lounging areas. The pool was busy but never overcrowded, really relaxing and pool towels are swapped daily. Beautiful private walkway to the beach with the use of your room key. Lovely bar/ restaurant at the pool which was nice although expensive for what it was; the food / drinks were all fresh. The cleaning staff were fantastic, our room was freshened up daily. The breakfast buffet was nice (much nicer than the dinner) with a decent selection.

The dinner buffet although appeared fresh daily was often cold and the selection was not great. We ate out 3 nights during our 7 day stay. No drinks are included with dinner (even water) we had our own water on us one evening as we were going out straight after dinner & were promptly informed we couldn't bring the bottle of water into the restaurant. The dinner staff were almost too attentive we felt they were hovering around us waiting for us to finish.

Perfect quiet location situated on the most amazing sandy beach of Praia Grande. Modern design, huge bedrooms with large balcony and south facing ocean views (Ocean view rooms) The walk in shower is amazing. Free safe and room fridge. Hotel is exceptionally clean and rooms cleaned daily.

In my opinion there is nothing not to like.

Location and Spa. Get a special surprise in the room for my birthday, loved the attention.

The bed was very soft, uncomfortable. The nature view is direction the parking lot. Not much nature with all cars parked.

amazing location, the swimming pool was great, always enough sunbeds, the towel service was great - they gave you fresh beach towels every morning. the bed was so comfortable. very powerful shower. also surrounding area was so beautiful with the palm trees and you really are a minutes walk to the beach! total relaxation

- the dinner buffet was a bit underwhelming but hard to cater for everyone I suppose. although we had booked to have dinner at hotel every night we ended up eating out in albufeira, vilamoura and surrounding areas. the coffee at breakfast was also not great - for a 5* it could’ve been better. we did enjoy breakfast though, lots on offer and tasty fresh omelettes made to order.

The hotel is exceptional. Good location although not so close to the main rock formations of Algarve which are about 25-60 mins away . However , the pool , the food and the hotel were awesome . Our room had garden views . Staff were truly nice and welcoming. I’d go back .

I wouldn’t expect to not have water or basic drinks included at dinner . We paid for half boarding, so breakfast and dinner , but only food was included at dinner . No drinks at all . Not Even water , and it was about 4 euros for a 75 cl bottle of water . Other than that everything was excellent.
