The location is excellent, as it is in the old town in Braga. There is no traffic noise as the hotel is located in a pedestrian street. The hotel is in a beautiful old building. For those wishing to try good Portuguese food, we highly recommend the hotel restaurant. Staff are lovely and extremely helpful, they genuinely try to help you have a wonderful stay. We had some rather minor things to report to reception - the lady working there said they did not want us to leave feeling bad so we were offered a sumptious dinner at the hotel restaurant. The buffet breakfast here is very nice too.

The hotel rooms could be redecorated - even a layer of paint might help. One of the neighbours keeps chickens so I woke up to this rooster crowing. The hotel cannot do anything about this, but I must say I find it odd that the city allows this. The air conditioning in our room did not work properly so we would open the window to cool the room down at night. When the window and shutters are closed, the crowing is less disturbing.

I loved the location because we could walk everywhere. Parking was included for free. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. They knew the area and were eager to insure that we had a fabulous stay. All the staff was fluent in Portuguese and English which was helpful when communicating. The buffet was on point, it had so much to choose from and everything was fresh. The buffet breakfast was over the top. The balcony in our suite was the best part of our stay. We had fun hanging out late at night and having coffee on the balcony early in the morning. We had 2 balconies. The room was clean and well stocked. The towels were large and soft. The blow dryer worked great. The room was spacious. I like the decor in the rooms. There were 4 large closets to use. There was plenty of light in the rooms. There a few things that can be improved…The tub was old and very high to enter. The refrigerator did not work and 1 full day we didn’t have WiFi or cable. It was ok because we were out and about most of the time. The room needs plugs for phone chargers in outlets or on lights. Magazines and newspapers were not available to read during breakfast( that would be helpful). It would be helpful to have a small gift shop. The area between the office/ check in and the restaurant needs to be more organized. The only improvement for the bathroom is a new tub and the bidet is too close to the toilet. The room needs one more trash can in the bedroom area. A few bottles of water in the room would be great. I would love a bit of a keepsake from the hotel maybe a towel or cup. Also, there was no phone to call the office. It would be nice if they gave you a history of the hotel. I know it was a 4 star hotel but we enjoyed our stay as much as 5 star hotels. I would recommend this hotel to friends and I would stay here again. We loved the staff, the balcony, the downtown, the free parking. Since the WiFi was done, I know that was not there problem. It was down for the whole area.

No WiFi . It was out. Needs newer tub and the bidet moved away from the toilet. Needs ports to plug in your cell to charge on newer lights. Needs a broom so we could sweep, the refrigerator didn’t work, the cable and WiFi were out for 1 day, I would like newspaper to read during breakfast, having brochures and maps available in the lobby Clean up the room between the lobby and the restaurant

We only stayed one night, wish we'd stayed longer. The check-in was a pleasure. We were a little early but the receptionist was really helpful and arranged for us to get into our room. We were also told the hotel has 4 parking spaces in the main square, just across from the hotel (which we were not aware of). They are first come first served, but there were spaces there for most of the day, so that was great. The entire hotel was very clean. As with every place we sated in Portugal, the staff were a delight, friendly, helpful and chatty (if they spoke English). When we booked, we received a message stating that the hotel may have difficulty fulfilling our requirements (I think they may only have had a twin bed rather than a double available), but they upgraded us which was brilliant! We could open the French windows, look out over the square and watch the world go by. We had to leave early for our (just before breakfast), but the let us come in and get something while the breakfasts were being prepared. The man preparing our breakfasts heated some croissants for us and gave then to us to take away. They have a lovely garden to sit on with a beer under the trees, the restaurant area looks lovely too and the menu looks good, but we were eating out that night. The location is really central, so it was easy just to wander down to the old town area. There's a fabulous bookshop just a couple of doors down with what looked like an amazing tea room through the back with wonderful cakes (we only discovered it later in the day but were told by one of the locals it's not to be missed). Braga is great, it's well placed for a short drive to the coast or into the mountains, so ideal if you want to tour the area.

There's very little that could have been better. More seating out in the garden would have been good, it's a bit limited. They're not a big hotel, so they seem to shut the bar in the afternoon and then again relatively early in the evening if they're quiet, so if you want a nightcap best check if the bar is still open. At least that was our experience for the one night we were there, but I did get served a glass wine and port to take to our room. While our room was excellent, the upholstery on the couch was showing some signs of wear and tear (not a complaint it added character).

The location and room with two beds

The entrance is not always open. We found the entrance locked once at night and once in the afternoon. Even though we were told to knock on the door the first time when we were locked out the second time there wasn’t anyone to answer the knock immediately. We had to wait there for a while wondering what was going on. I suggest to inform guests about the situation beforehand.

Firstly the staff, who were very helpful and welcoming. presented my colleague with a bottle of Champagne on his birthday and even offered to iron my clothes. Secondly the location was excellent to explore Braga from.

Beds were a little uncomfortable and the cockrels at the rear of the property can give you an early start!

The staff was lovely and the hotel was charming. The location couldn't have been better - it was away from the bustle of the center but just a few steps away from everywhere we wanted to be. They even had bath robes, which was not expected!

It would have been great to have free parking available 24/7. Parking in a nearby lot is complimentary in the evening during specific hours, but has a fee during the day.

Great location, the hotel is at a walking distance from the centre. The rooms are big and comfortable.

The breakfast was good but not as good as we expected. The parking spaces are not really reserved and they only have 4 spots, so you can't be sure you will find a place to park.

amazing location 2 mins from the center comfortable room

only 4 free spots for parking and most of the time they were occupied by people outside of the hotel. hotel was tired of calling the police every day to fine the cars. if you park in the underground parking close by it’s pretty expensive (the hotel does cover overnight parking)

Location was excellent Room was perfect

Brekafast wasn't great; food not covered up so flies were all over the bread and puddings Trying to enter the building in the evening, the security guard constantly would lock the door, not be in reception to hear us knock on the door and failed to answer the phone on multiple occasions.
