The location was so tranquil and the hotel immaculately clean .

Seeing as this is a destination hotel, o wasn’t a fan of having the local kids playing football in the pool. This should only be allowed when visitors are not sitting out by the pool. Also, we booked the Spa to only be told just before use that the facilities were not available . That was disappointing.

It was a new experience for us - stay in a monastery, whose walls and structure is from the old times, but the furnishing is modern. We liked it! The restaurant is good, the specially - bacalhau à lagareiro, we recommend.

The pillow and mattress could be better, the temperature inside the room in the night was not that comfortable (in November it was cold).

We appreciated the friendly and efficient staff.The location of this hotel,within easy walking distance of the centre of town, is perfect.The breakfasts are exceptional.Plenty of variety and fresh produce.

We were surprised to find that there was hot water in the rooms only for a short time, morning and evening. We also felt that we should have been told,when we made the booking,that the award winning restaurant would not be open during our stay.This was particularly unfortunate,since the reputation of the restaurant was one of the deciding factors for us in choosing the hotel.

The physical building itself was beautiful. Great setting. Decadent breakfast. Friendly staff. Room upgrade was much appreciated!

Only thing that was unpleasant was that our room faced the courtyard, and there was a very bright light outside in the courtyard that shined directly into the room.

Character hotel, I thought I was in a Monastery 😃 I was also able to sit outside my room working or having an early morning coffee

8am breakfast start was just too late for a busy day

Great bedroom size, comfortable bed, beautiful surroundings. The breakfast is amazing full of options. The staff is very warm and willing to help.

A bit overpriced for what offers. The building is amazing and beautiful but nothing else justifies the price.

Location, beautiful grounds.

No tea/coffee making facilities or even bottled water! The old building was amazing but the staff were not welcoming or very friendly.

Nice room, good pool, friendly personnel.

The restaurant was closed on Friday evening, and we we were only informered right before the opening hour (even if asked 1 hour before).

Close to the centre with its own parking. Attractive comfortable room and friendly staff. The pool looked tempting but we didn’t have time.

Wifi was almost non-existent.
