We really appreciated the tranquility and the privileged location of the hotel, the area around Ilhavo is really interesting to discover in addition to Aveiro. The association of Montebello and Vista Alegre results in high quality infrastructure and design (fantastic outdoor and indoor swimming pool, excellent and refined decoration etc.).

The hotel has some weaknesses with regard to the five star qualification. First of all at the level of the staff, the hospitality and the quality of service is often not acceptable (young and poorly trained). In addition, some points are quite harmful on a daily basis, such as poor wifi or unstable water temperatures in the shower.

We really like the position, the very unique hotel bulding, architecture and decoration The room was really nice even if in general we prefer not to have carpet in our room, the bathroom was really super (with bidet!!!) and the bed super comfortable Food at the restaurant very nice with a good quality for price balance. Breakfast outstanding

Unfortunately the swimming pools (both inside and outside) were extremely crowded and noisy. For the inside swimming pool we made specific shift reservation (as required by the hotel) but still find the pool fool of noisy people jumping and screaming, Nobody from the hotel was there to control. So it was impossible for us to profit of the internal swimming pool and related facilities (sauna and turkish bath)

The atmosphere is amazing. The complex is extremely well kept. We stayed in a very nicely decorated apartment for 4 with all the facilities you would like to find in such a place. The breakfast offers many different delicious options. The visit to the museum is a must.

Our stay was too short! We missed other facilities like a tennis court and a multisport court for kids.

The hotel is in a rural setting on the Aveiro lagoon. It is tranquil and never feels overcrowded. it has an excellent Pool and there is never a fight over the sunbeds. The hotel is well run and clean. There was plenty of free parking. Breakfast was wonderful. The restaurant was excellent.

I think they had some staff issues. The majority of staff were extremely helpful and kind but there were one or two who were not very efficient and helpful.

The facilities are amazing. Vista Alegre is a must.

Bar closed at 23h03 even though we called to ask if it was open to eat and employees were still there. Not a 5 star hotel experience to leave guests arriving late without any food.

The room was very good, all the materials used in the construction are really high level finishing... the pool and the sauna was great. and the best part are the exteriors, very well maintained, nice plants, the possibility to walk around the Vista alegre old town and houses.. is super cool...

breakfast could be a bit better for a 5 stars hotel... very standard to other hotels... I was hoping for something different as a 5 star. nevertheless it was good.

The location was very quiet. And the surrounding domain and history/museum was nice.

Their was a bridge next to the hotel, made in wood. This brought some noice when sitting at the pool. But for the rest this was not disturbing.

Rooms were super spacious, comfortable and clean! Breakfast was good, many options. Great size pool and nice sauna. Staff was very helpful. The hotel is very well located, close to the city center and surrounded by breathtaking landscapes. Discounts at Vistalegre and Bordalo Pinheiro stores were a pleasant surprise! We had an amazing time.

At breakfast pancakes were just so artificial and dry, orange juice was also not natural, there were no whole grain croissants like in other Montebelo hotels, not even one gluten free option, no low fat milk and American coffee was not served at the table but from a machine. Interior pool’s water could have been warmer, turkish bath was a bit cold too on the first day of our stay and not working on the following days. Rooms had no coffee machine, just one for hot water, and no fruit or cookies were ever left after our beds were made (as many 5 star hotels kindly leave). Despite that, we enjoyed our stay.

Excellent resort style hotel with fantastic facilities and friendly staff. Our room was spacious and well equipped. The pool was lovely and the breakfast was great too It's a short drive to Aveiro and the beaches

We could not fault this hotel. The room was very stylish and spacious with a private external terrace with outdoor furniture. The bathroom configuration was great with his and hers handbasins fabulous tiling... all very new. The bed and pillows were super comfortable. Great indoor pool restaurant and breakfasts. The staff were very friendly and helpful. To see Vista Alegre porcelain everywhere was a bonus. The free tour of the museum and access to view the handpainting staff at work was special.
