I highly recommend this hotel for its location, the lovely staff, the great bar and lounge area and a really good breakfast with choice to suit everyone. And the mattress was so comfortable we took photos of the labels and brand so we can track it down! It’s in a relatively quiet road - very narrow but the taxi dropping us off and picking us managed fine. The location cannot be faulted - there most be a hundred restaurants within a hundred yards and the area is flat ( unlike much if the city!). It’s literally a 10 minute walk down to the river front and Rossio station is 10 minutes the other way (which may be relevant to you for days out). We’d give a a particular shout out to the bar area - and the bar staff. This is a proper professionally run and staffed bar whilst still being welcoming and perfect for tourists at the end of a busy day. We spent more time there than we would have imagined we would!

There was nothing I didn’t like - we’d stay there again without hesitation.

I had been traveling in Portugal for a month when we checked into Brown's. I acquired lots of purchases that needed to be shipped to the US. The staff at the front desk, no matter the shift or time of day, were very helpful and very accommodating. They arranged with their recommended shipper to contact me for payment & had the big box picked up from the hotel for delivery to me. This made a stress point vanish! Also, another incident occurred that could have been awful. I lost a very valuable earring which I discovered while touring Sintra. When I returned, I checked with the front desk to discover that housekeeping had found it on the hall floor outside of my room. What a relief! I spoke with housekeeping to offer a reward and spoke to the lady who found my earring. So sweet! I really felt as if I had a second chance to keep an item that is sentimental and precious to me, all because of the honesty of Brown's staff. Housekeeping, by the way, is so good. Our room was spotless and manicured each day. So lovely to return to after a long day of exploring. We also loved the bar! The atmosphere is an oasis with great drinks, a small bar menu, tons of wonderful books, and a great staff.

I felt the breakfast was a bit generic. It's great to actually have a wide variety of menus combined with the idea of not searching for breakfast to begin the day. The coffee, like many hotels, is from a self-serve machine. I think I could have been fine if Brown's had a barista. I did go around the corner to indulge in a pasteis da Nada and a cappuccino, so that solved that..... This hotel, is central, just as it is named. If you plan to be out of the touristic path, this isn't for you. That said, the location is a perfect pivot point for all aspects of the city. Close to monuments and transport.

This hotel was far better than we could have imagined!! It couldn't be more central with everything at your doorstep. The service from the front desk staff was excellent, they were very friendly and helpful. We checked into our room on the top floor and were blown away at how spacious it was and the standard to which it was designed. Nespresso coffee machine and coffee pods were great. The bed was huge and comfortable. The bathroom was luxurious. Also, the welcome drink is a very nice touch!! We had to check out early but the 12pm check out is very good as most places are 11am. Overall we were very happy with our stay and we will 100% be staying here when we visit Lisbon again.

Only negative is that due to it's city centre location it can be quite loud throughout the night but of course this is not the hotels fault.

Location is perfect. Staff also. Enterier is very modern and specific. Everything was near the hotel. The room and hotel was very clean. Even if you arrive early you can explore lot of famous things.

Noise after 11PM, but okey the hotel is in the hearth of the centar. Local dillers was next to the hotel and they was boring, the hotel need to get rid of them because they give wrong picture for hotel. Breakfast is tooooo expensive, 18€ per person is tooooooo much... don't know how they calculate this price but 36€ for couple for sweadish breakfast without cucumber and good coffee is immeasurably. 10% discount for hotel's guests for lunch or some drink needs to be much more.

This hotel is amazing... The staff throughout, the location, the rooms (I can obviously only speak for the room we had), the food and drinks... everything. I cannot say a bad word against this hotel. We arrived early and left our luggage with no fuss. Checking in at 3pm, we were 'very' pleased with our room. Very clean and immaculately presented. We had requested, at booking, a room on the higher floors as we had heard there could be issues with street noise, and we also requested a room with balcony if possible. We got both. Everything you needed was in the room, as well as complimentary bottle of water and red wine. The bathroom was on the small side but perfect still with an awesome overhead shower. Our room (519) even had a small passageway for storage shelves and hanging of clothes... The bed was super comfy... Perfect. The folks on reception were very welcoming and helped us with recommendations for food and drinks and booking taxis... The highlight though was the complimentary bottle of bubbles, that was found in our room when we got back one day, as it was my birthday (not sure if it was from my passport or the fact we had birthday cards up in the room)... Regardless, a super nice touch... Thank you. The location is also perfect... Everything downtown is a matter of minutes away by foot and it is central for Alfarmo, Chiado and Bairro Alta districts, to walk around... A great weekend made more special by us selecting this hotel... :-)

Not a complaint but if I had to pick something, it would be to keep the hotel bar open later than 11pm... One thing that attracted the hotel to us was the very cool looking bar... We had hoped to go out for evening food and drinks and come back to the hotel for a drink also, but this was not possible... We just had to make use of it before we went out :-)

Great location, cool decor, staff were generally very helpful

Breakfast: at initial booking, it was advertised that gluten free breakfast was provided. This was not really the case as there was no clear guidance as to what items were actually gluten free. My wife is coeliac so this was disappointing. Don't state that it's provided and then serve a standard hotel breakfast buffet. It was misleading. In addition, we had to get a taxi for our return flight at 730am. Breakfast started at 730am. Staff made no allowance for this we were even refused a coffee! This is really unacceptable. This is a breakfast that we had paid for! Highly recommend that you look at staff attitudes in dealing with issues like this. In general, staff were great. But that was outrageously poor form and our stay ended on a somewhat sour note as a result.

Perfectly situated for central Lisbon, surrounded by restaurants, shops of all descriptions and easy walking distance of major site seeing . A lovely eclectic bar with great art work and mood music. Substantial breakfast to suit all tastes and comfortable bedroom with , and this was a major plus for those who like their bedroom cooler at night, near silent air conditioning.

There was a bar on the same frontage that had live music every night, which after a long day and an early night did disturb somewhat, however this religiously stopped at 23:00. G to here was no doubt that people enjoyed the live events, so a little disturbance was not too bad.
