From our first website interaction to our final farewell on departure the level of communication with the hotel team was exceptional and a welcome change form other places we have stayed at. We arrived slightly earlier than predicted - this in the main was due to how easy and efficient, not to mention value for money, the Lisbon Metro is. The welcome we got from the reception team was very friendly, easy going and efficient. In fact every meeting with a member of the hotel team was a pleasure, from the lovely lady ensuring breakfast ran smoothly to all the team we met on reception at several points during the day. A special mention to the young lady who went out of her way to help us on the last day when our BA flights was cancelled and the BA App was less than efficient. A great hotel team, especially in a smaller hotel, is really important and this young team were exceptional. Also a special mention to the lovely Flavia. The hotel for us was ideally situated 10 mins walk from Baxia-Chiada Metro station, in an area with some great local restaurants and bars, being only 5 mins from the river front. The iconic 28 Tram runs 30 metres from the hotel door. The hotel was fully booked, 19 odd rooms, yet you hardly heard a sound from anywhere, so the sleep quality was superb. The charming courtyard, bijou swimming pool and library room were great areas to relax around and the breakfast buffet options were great and we wanted for nothing. All in all, this hotel was a great find and elevated our stay in Lisbon to another level

Not a thing.

We loved the location, the room was perfect for what we needed and the beautiful courtyard and plunge pool was a wonderful bonus to sit out and enjoy the sun during the afternoon. The staff were fantastic - they looked after us so well from the moment we made the booking to the moment we left, and were super friendly and helpful. We arranged for a driver to collect us from the airport when we arrived and the service from him (including via WhatsApp before our arrival) was excellent.

The only downside was the room was not very soundproof, likely as it is an old building. We could hear every movement from the room next door and it woke us up on a few occasions.

All the words in this review are not enough to explain how amazing this hotel is and how wonderful is the staff. Great location, close to many restaurants and sightseeings. The room and the common areas were clean and beautiful. It’s full of great details and art pieces. The pool zone and the chill out area outside is very pleasant. The staff is beyond friendly. Every day they recommended you places or activities to do in Lisbon. They make you feel at home. Big ups for you, guys <3 Last but not least the breakfast is delicious. Many options to choose from. We really hope to come back!

I cannot recommend this place enough. Main reason: the staff. Ines and the rest of the team make you feel like home. They make sure you have the most memorable stay. The little things make a huge difference and they definitely know how to. The pool/courtyard is so charming, tiny but lovely. Breakfast is simple but delicious. The rooms are well designed, there wasn't much daylight in our room on the ground floor but that didn't bother us, since we spent the whole day in the sun.

The coffee could improve, especially since Lisbon is so greatly known for good specialty coffee. I also believe a fresh orange juice (even if just one glass per person) would make a difference. But these are minor things that most hotels don't have, however it's always a great add-on to a boutique hotel like Dear Lisbon. Nevertheless, this wouldn't stop me from staying there again, I'd stay there over and over again. Obrigado!

Breakfast was very nice and I had a nice bedroom with plenty of wardrobe space (one reviewer remarked on lack of storage space but I felt I had rather more than is often the case). There is a lovely courtyard with a swimming pool and I had my breakfast out there each morning. The location about as good as you can get (there will always be some districts that are not so close). The hotel is called Dear Lisbon Charming House and CHARMING it definitely was/is and the staff round the highly personable Ines were equally delightful, helpful and friendly; from management to cleaners, they seemed happy in their work. I had, too, on a couple of occasions, a lovely surprise awaiting me on my bedside table when I arrived back late at night; such kindnesses so appreciated and quite touching. The hotel also is somehow very nice and welcoming to return to in the early hours being nicely lit with some music quietly on in the background. I had stayed at Dear Lisbon twice previously and enjoyed my stay very much, but, alas, was unable to get a room on my last, ill-fated, visit to the Portuguese capital 6 years ago (I was mugged on my first night by an opportunistic fellow Englishman). It was good to be back - both in Lisbon and at Dear Lisbon! This latest visit was probably the most delightful hotel experience I have ever had (and, NO, I have never previously told a hotel that). I visit other countries, too, but, perhaps in no small part due to some Portuguese ancestry, Lisbon is my favourite city and after 11 visits now since 1996, I naturally look on it as my "home" on the continent. And this latest stay has confirmed for me a feeling that Dear Lisbon is now my HOME when I'm in the Portuguese capital; I hope the prices remain within my preferred budget and that the hotel retains its charm. 68 years of age now, I hope to have a few more stays at Dear Lisbon before I'm beamed up to the heavens (or, beamed down to the other place!)

There wasn't anything I especially didn't like. However, I did have a slight problem with the shower (but the problem may have been ME!), in that the water would quite promptly get nice and hot but I seemed to have difficulty stabilising the temperature and always felt a little wary of scolding myself. I couldn't quite settle on the optimum position for the lever to be in.

Staff were super friendly and informative. Breakfast was fresh and tasty. Location is tucked away in a quiet street. Easy to get an Uber (which are very cheap) from the end of the road. The added bonus of a small swimming pool was perfect for the hot weather. There is a lovely peaceful lounge area to relax in. Our room was at the top of the house and had a lovely outdoor terrace with table and chairs. To note there is no lift but the staff carried our suitcases to our rooms and down again. Book it!

From the moment you walk through the door at this small boutique, you feel at home. I was greeted by a kind and thoughtful staff. I was offered a complimentary drink (I chose white wine), and was shown around the main floor which was clean and charming. My room was perfect, with a lovely terrace looking over the courtyard, and was incredibly clean and cozy. The morning breakfast (which I had in the courtyard) was yummy and well set up. I would highly recommend this boutique for any friend staying in Lisbon, whether it was just for a night, or a week! I will be back!

The staff was so incredibly friendly here, we felt very welcome. They also provided us with everything we needed + recommendations to explore the city. The “garden area” with pool and patio was so cosy and gave instant vacation vibes. Located in a quiet street but close to the centre.

We had a couple of issues with the comfort in the room. The matress and pillows were a bit hard so we had to get used to them. The room was a good size but it was pretty dark and the wifi (which was free) was very slow in the room. Also reception wasn’t great. We had to go into the garden or the lobby to have reception/wifi.

The name couldn’t be more fitting, Charming House is in fact wonderfully charming, we loved our stay there! Our room overlooked the pool and was one of the larger rooms, we loved the space, the bed was so comfy. It was very peaceful, not to mention refreshing having the pool available. The styled touches throughout the property are beautiful. Staff were very friendly and attentive. The location is great too, it’s a little oasis in a lively area of Lisbon!

Couldn’t fault a thing.

All staff members were very professional whilst being friendly, informative and efficient - real teamwork and prude in the hotel could be seen. Great location. Good breakfast. comfortable rooms.

Nothing really, if had to say something I would just advise to get an idea on the hotels address/location as the street name is not shown on local or online maps just so you know exactly where to go. I had a side street room which was a little noisy with neighbours at night BUT I slept with the two windows open so if I had closed them and put the air-con on instead then I am sure that would of had significantly reduced that occasional noise.
