I recently stayed at the Empire hotel and I was pleasantly surprised how lovely the hotel was for a 3 star rated hotel . I would rate it 4.5 easily . The rooms are very nice , spacious and have those rain showers installed that will always make you rebook in the future . I would highly recommend this hotel and I would definitely stay there again . Travel Tip ..Take the red line metro from the airport [ Direction Sao Sebastian ] Get off at Almeda station and change to the Green Line [ Direction Cais De Sodre ] and get off at Arrois stop . The hotel is 3 minutes walk from the station . Very handy .

No issues . Everything was perfect .

The hotel is within walking distance from the metro station. My room was spacious, with controllable air conditioning. The bed was comfortable and clean. Breakfast was not excellent but still quite good.

The street on which the hotel is located is decadent and it didn't feel super-safe for a woman traveling alone.

Excellent location. On the green line (lina verde) metro that takes you to the important places and connections such as rossio, cais do sodre, baixa chiado etc. Very kind staff: Beneditta and Alex. He even booked me a cab. The breakfast girls will fill your bottle with water if you request. Rooms: very clean, though view outside wasnt that great but ok. An iron and a kettle in the room would have been ideal. Breakfast: superb layout. Lovely bacon and sweet savouries.

Everything was super. A kettle and iron would have been ideal. May be have some changes in breakfast. Daily same menu got a little monotonous.

The proximity to the Arrios metro station was perfect. We could have the large windows open at night to allow a breeze in with not much street noise. The breakfast was excellent with plenty of protein, carb and liquid options. But if you missed out either before or after hours there were some options nearby on the street a block or two away as well as late at night if jet lagged. Restaurant Portugalalia two blocks away, in particular, was helpful as it was open during afternoon siesta time 1-4pm when we were starving for something beyond a pastry/coffee option. Had bacalau two different ways both very good, albeit, not fancy. Loved the shower!!!

Not much to not like for an urban location to get your bearing after a long trip from Seattle via Dublin so the fact we arrived here to acclimate to the 8 hr time difference, we were easily able to do so here. Will certainly consider staying here again.

This hotel belongs to a small chain (2 hotels incl. this one) and is located not too far from downtown Lisbon, 2 minutes walk from the closes metro station (and if you walk for 8 minutes, there is a direct metro line to the airport - alternatively, calling a Bolt to/from the airport would set you back about 5 EUR). The personnel was nice and friendly, the room was decently sized and had all the necessary amenities (except, perhaps, a tea/coffee set) - we were offered vouchers for coffee instead. There were 2 welcome bottles of water provided as well. The bed was comfortable. WiFi worked like a charm. We were able to leave our luggage for a few hours before catching the flight back. Overall - good option if you aren't a light sleeper.

Unfortunately, there are 2 things which could be an obstacle: 1. Breakfast (albeit complementary) was fairly poor (and considering that the price wasn't really cheap, I would say it could've been a tad better). 2. Sound-proof is not the strongest point of this hotel - again, known issue for Lisbon, but one clearly hears the movement of water through the pipes during the night.

Hotel is clean and staff are lovely . Very helpful and happy to assist . We requested a specific toon which they provided at no extra expense . The breakfast is great too . If you want a good old British breakfast then you will be disappointed but the continental breakfast was amazing ! They had everything from cereals , fresh fruit , bread rolls , toast , eggs jams yogurts and plenty of lovely local cakes and pastries . Rooms are clean and greets for a couple of days stay , we had a balcony over looking the street but noise was not an issue . The property is about a 30 minute walk to centre but there is a tube station outside the hotel with trains running every 5 minutes so if walking not your thing then you can use the tube

Nothing everything was good

A clean room. Good to have sockets by the bed. Shower was good. Breakfast was good, very many pastry options, fresh fruit and a selection of cooked items, juices and coffee machines. The city's old quarter can be walked to from the hotel but can take 24 minutes or so (which feels a bit longer when walking back as there is a slight incline), but there is a metro station a very short distance from the hotel. Staff were very helpful. Good to have the option to have a kettle in the room (for a fully refundable deposit). A voucher for a complimentary coffee from the reception area coffee bar was given to us both which we used after checking out on the final morning whilst killing some time before heading back to the airport.

The wi-fi occasionally dropped out.

The hotel is nice and fairly recently renovated. The size of the room was great and had a mini fridge so you could have cold drinks and stuff in the room. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. Located near a metro stop that goes to and from the airport. The water pressure in the shower was excellent.

The beds were a bit hard. The neighbourhood the hotel is located in is a bit away from the center (I knew this when I booked), but there are restaurants and stuff close by. The room could have been a bit better cleaned when I arrived, but nothing too bad.

Clean, relatively modern hotel with good sized bedrooms and bathroom. Hotel staff were very accommodating and helpful with our questions about the local area. Right next to the metro for easy access to the city and a supermarket next door. Very comfy beds, I slept great all week. Big mirrors which was ideal for a girls trip!

Breakfast was included but it was quite basic. There wasn’t the option for a ‘do not disturb’ for the maids so I did spend one morning repeatedly shouting to the maid ‘no thank you’ which wasn’t ideal. Hotel Bar wasn’t open or at least wasn’t manned in the evenings so we did have to go out walking to look for bottled water after we got home from a night out. Wasn’t in a tourist area, I’d say more of a local area - not necessarily a bad thing but just something to note.

First of all the staff has been amazing. We had a super warm welcome at reception. As we arrived before check in, we could store our luggage and explore the city instead of waiting. The hotel is located perfectly. The metro stop is around the corner and within 10 min you are in the center. We never had to wait long for a tram to arrive. Breakfast had a nice choice of different things from sweet to salty, bread, joghurts, fruitsalad. Next to the hotel is a small supermarket too,in case you need drinks or some snacks for the day. Perfect hotel for a city break.
