the lack of soundproof between the rooms. It was like the person from the next door was inside my room. for some reason there was no minibar, when it was stated on the room amenities that there was. Not mention there was still hair in the shower room from the previous guest.

Excellent location in the heart of Porto, The hotel was comfortable and the staff were superlative. The breakfast was more than adequeate. There were no frills (e.g. courtesy slippers, lotions, etc.), and so this hotel warrants its three stars.

The en-suite bathroom was unsatisfactory in the two different rooms that we occupied over five nights, with only a telephone shower mounted above a bath. Therefore considerable care needed to be taken in having a shower, having to step over the side of the bath. In one of the bathrooms, the push button switching the water supply from the bath to the shower kept slipping, cutting off the supply to the shower. In the bathroom provided with the room for our last night's stay, the holder for the telephone shower did not grip the shower head and one hand had to continually hold the shower head. An upgrade to the bathrooms of this hotel is long overdue.

We liked the hotel decor. The room size was spacious and very clean with comfortable beds. We thought the hotel location was excellent. It was important to us to have a hotel reasonably priced within walking distance of public transportation. A big plus for us was that the many places of interest to us we wanted to see were also within walking distance from the hotel. In the surrounding area, there are plenty of restaurants and cafes to choose from. The staff was amazing and very helpful especially when we needed help with day trips. The only thing I didn't get was that we booked a room with a balcony but we didn't get it. We were told that the room we got was bigger with a king-size bed.

The only thing I think they can improve on is the coffee and the food options at breakfast. Out of the 10 days at the hotel, I only went for breakfast 3 times and my wife only once even though we paid the additional cost to have it included.

Excellent location and staff service

Air conditioner was leaking thru wall in the closet, notified front desk next day repair person was sent to fix it while I was out sightseeing. when I came back into the room my Iwatch charger was slashed and cut in half squeeze/cut from night table drawer. Front desk credited breakfast fee to compensate the issue. Had to wait till my next stop in Caldas to replace the cord since it was not available anywhere in Porto. grateful to front desk person response to situation.

it was in a great central position with plenty of restaurants and entertainment in the area, all within walking distance. a great stay. the breakfast was excellent and the staff were all very nice and helpful. the bonus was having the taxi meet us at the airport to take us to the hotel, which was rewarded to me for genius 11 level.

the standard room we had reserved had a bath/shower with a small opening that was inaccessible to me as I have had a knee replacement. we explained the situation to the receptionist who was very happy to move us to another room with walk-in shower after the first night in the standard room.

The staff were wonderful and very helpful and informative.Staff on reception, breakfast staff and cleaners - all were lovely and respectful. I liked the fact that it was a 24hr reception.

I didn't like the fact that there was no mention before we arrived that the Bar and the restaurant at the hotel were not available. Or that there was extensive construction work very close to the hotel ( not their fault) but too close for my comfort. Location of the hotel is good though. Hotel rooms are comfortable and clean but dated-definitely could do with a some TLC

Breakfasts were delicious, fresh, and varied. Rooms very tidy, cleaned daily. The Hotel is centrally located, but despite this, the noise from the street is not audible - it is quiet, comfortable; and the hotel staff are very helpful, friendly and meet the individual needs of those staying there. I would definitely recommend the hotel to anyone who wants to feel the atmosphere of the city during the day and relax from the hustle and bustle of it in the evening with music, a book or TV.

A very nice centrally located hotel with great period character. The hotel, in particular communal areas, are something to see themselves with many period features retained. Staff are welcoming, helpful and friendly. Housekeeping is very good. You're always greeted with a warm welcome for breakfast. The breakfast offers a large selection of continental, cereal and scrambled eggs etc. Hotel is in the historic centre, close to the river and range of attractions... you can walk everywhere if you don't mind gradients :-)). A parking garage is located very nearby. This is very definitely a 3 star aiming for 4 star status.

Our air conditioning unit occasionally made a minor tick. Trivial really.

Staff were very friendly and helpful, breakfast had good choice, lots of different options including fruit, cereals, breads and a selection of hot food. Location was excellent walking distance to most places we wanted to go on our stay and short walk from the main train station with trains to and from the airport.

The room was too hot, couldn’t figure out the air conditioning and because of the location was quite loud with the windows open.

It took a little doing to find the hotel due to the construction of a Metro staton going on just a ways from the hotel. I did not find there to be any noise at all from the construction whilst staying in the hotel. The hotel was well situated for accessing the main attractions quite easily by foot, even if it takes a bit to get oriented in this vibrant small city. I asked for a single room and was pleasantly surprised to received a small but very comfortable double room for the same price. It was a clean and pleasant room. The breakfast was really quite good with a fantastic selection to choose from. The photos of the breakfast didn't really do justice to the offerings. I really was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the ingredients on offer. The woman in charge of the breakfast was really helpful and pleasant, dropping effortlessly into at least 4 different languages whilst she efficiently did her job. The front desk was helpful allowing me to leave my bag there early till my room was ready for checkin at the stated time. I appreciated the special price on the taxi to the airport that made for an effortless departure. It was a lovely if brief stay and would most like there stay there again if the opportunity to visit Porto arose.

Only one small mention is that as it is an old historic building and the floorboards in the hallways on the floor above me were quite noisy with what seemed like a lot of people moving around late at night. It wasn't a deal breaker, but a bit surprising and happy that I was able to get back to sleep.
