Breakfast was phenomenal. Even had an egg benedict. The hotel is gorgeous with beautiful gardens surrounding it with awesome views. We got up for sunrise each day and it was special watching it next to the vines. The staff were super helpful and lovely. This was our favourite accommodation in Madeira.

The hotel is in wonderful position on a cliff ledge with great views down the coast and towards the mountains. The hotel staff were all very professional and we had a good welcome. Breakfast was splendid, very varied. The breakfast staff were very cheery and looked after us extremely well. The room was well fitted and the bathroom and shower were excellent. We were in the new extension facing the sea. These rooms have a nice feeling but don't get much sun as they are east facing. The restaurant food is excellent but very pricey. Eating in the bar is an alternative and very pleasant. Some dishes were surprisingly large and can be shared.

Insufficient bedding the first night. There should have been more bedding stored in the room. The Welcome Drink is only on a Tuesday when German flights arrive. It was six nights before we had a welcome drink on the eve of our departure! The outdoor pool looks a bit basic.

We initially booked a "Superior Twin Room with Sea View" but were unexpectedly upgraded to a Suite at no extra cost. The view from our balconies was amazing, the room was always clean, was nicely furnished and had very modern bathroom. Overall the location and property of the hotel is beautiful (lots of nice flowers and overall nice garden inviting to walks) and staff was always super friendly. Great breakfast buffet with fresh juices, fruit, bread etc. and some warm options available on the buffet while some others are made fresh to order like pancakes, waffles, omelette etc. Lots of opportunities to relax with e.g. indoor and outdoor pool, sauna, billiard/table tennis room. Due to the size of the island, everything is easily within reach by car. We had an amazing time there and would definitely book the hotel again in the future.

The restaurants are good but I would say slightly overpriced and if I recall correctly drinks are more expensive at the hotel bar than at the hotel's pub.

The hotel offers many facilities like 2 pools, 1 small sauna, a good and diverse breakfast (I loved the chocolate roulade from Uau Cacao, waffles, and fresh fruits), a nice bar with very attentive staff, and great rooms. The room was very comfortable, I liked the walk-in shower.

Spotting a cockroach running in the hotel lobby and a bug (hopefully a garden bug) in our room on the teaspoon. I showed the pictures to the reception on the day of departure, which kindly told me that the hotel is in the middle of nature and, hence, expected to have these incidents. However, as far as I know, cockroaches are not outdoor creatures but thrive indoors. Without this issue, it would have been a 10.

The friendliness of all the staff is a feature in itself, it really stands out for us. The location is incredible for relaxing and close to many superb hikes, and the way the place is taken care of really stands out. The quality of the food, and particularly the typical Santana bread baked in the facility is also something that shall be appreciated.

The restaurant changed my favourite dish, to a worse version of itself :( (the octopus used to be superb, now it's just good). There was a couple of stains in the room, which I attribute to the humid weather, but nothing that would even make me consider not going there.

The location is perfect. Very good restaurant with a splendid view and vegetarian options.

There are allocated time frames for breakfast from which one must choose in advance. Some spots were already full by the time we had arrived and were made to choose. This arrangement is very inconvenient and in my opinion unnecessary. There is a hideous modern addition to the original old building, which spoils the overall character of the place. It could have been done much better. There were music performances in the hotel bar/lobby of very inferior quality. The music was too loud for a bar music, it was unpleasant to even walk through the lobby and the music penetrated even to the room, which was supposed to be soundproof. Smoking is allowed on the terraces and balconies of the rooms.

Quiet, peaceful location. Room was lovely. Lots to do. We did the wine tasting, popped over to the bakery to get some traditional bread, walked. Lots of different areas to go and sit and have a drink. Really enjoyed this stay and I would come back.

If I had to pick on 1 thing, it would be that we booked a table at the restaurant and when we got there we were told the table was not ready. It was really busy. We booked for 7:30. We got our table at around 8 and weren’t able to order until around 8:15. I feel the people actually staying at the hotel should have priority over the table bookings and people walking in should have to wait for a table. The staff were working really hard though so kind of feel I shouldn’t complain. However the food was delicious. The restaurant was nice.

we really appreciated the acknowledgement of our anniversary, also the check in process was very welcoming and made us feel like valued guests, property and surroundings are gorgeous in 'winter' - room was spacious with beautiful view, breakfast was excellent although we noticed on the second day (start of weekend) it seemed to cater to tourists versus featuring local products.

The restaurant was well below expectations for dinner both nights (we did not try the pizza restaurant) in both food and service, they seemed really overwhelmed. We did have very high expectations.

The staff team is not only extremely friendly and welcoming but moreover, takes a lot of time for each and every guest so that you feel very much valued. They made our stay as comfy as possible. The location sits on the top of a cliff in a vineyard with a beautiful view on the north east coast of Madeira. The sunrise is breathtaking. The restaurants offer high quality food a beautiful view as well. The rooms and the general guest area have nicely designed colour palette and interior. We can only recommend to join the free activities! All activities we were able to attend were great.

Fantastic breakfast, lunch and dinner. Food was amazing. Location is fantastic - we had views of the ocean with amazing sunrises. Staff were absolutely amazing. Little chocolates left in our room every afternoon was a nice gesture. They organised our taxi driver for all our walks and they were ever so eager to help. Pools were ok so was the jacuzzi

Not much to be honest - maybe just the gym equipment wasn't to our standards - but that's because we are keen runners - that's the only thing I can think of.
