The hotel itself is beautiful and the location couldn't be better -- you truly are right at the beach! I had an ocean view room with a balcony and each morning I woke up to the awe-inspiring view of the Pacific Ocean. Cracking open the sliding doors even an inch and I was greeted with the mesmerizing sound of the waves. And as fabulous as the setting is, the staff is equally magnificent! Each person I interacted with went above and beyond to make sure my stay was the best it could be, and it was that and so much more. They made me feel like a VIP! And if I hadn't experienced all of the above, I would go back just for their ice cream sundae and their pineapple coconut smoothie!

Only one suggestion, upon being taken to our room, the bellman should have done a better job explaining the use of the safe, the working of the TV and certainly should have fetched us ice. I had inquired as to where the ice machine was and he replied that there were no ice machines on the property, but that it we wanted we could have gone to the bar or the pool to get some. For travelers who had just spent 6 hours in flight to get there he should have picked up on that and just made the effort to get us some ice...that was my only complaint of the service...anticipate the needs fully.

Location, On-site restaurant, luxe & comfy room, though our stay coincided with 1st day of Hotel-Worker strike at hotel up the block for 3 hours starting at 6 am, so loudly that it sounded like they were outside beneath our balcony. The property isn’t even a union property so that was unexpected. Also enjoyed dinner at the on-site restaurant & lunch the following day outside on the patio with 2 different ambiances-both were thoroughly enjoyable, the service was attentive and nice and we really enjoyed the food.

Great location, right on the beach and by Santa Monica pier. Hotel beautiful, just like the photos. Rooms gorgeous and amazing jacuzzi baths. Food and bar very good. Pool and sun bathing area good but gets busy with lots of children (not complaining and as expected but our children are much older now so we are not as used to lots of small children anymore). No beach seating as a state beach but that’s the same almost wherever you go in California.

Lovely hotel,, we liked the location in between Venice Beach & Santa Monica Pier which we could both walk to by foot. The valet parking staff is very friendly, so is the staff at the restaurant. Really good restaurant, we ate lunch, dinner and breakfast there, all very delicious. Room was big and very clean.

The staff at the reception was relatively short and I would have preferred some more information about the hotel. Pool hours, bike rental etc. The gentleman for the check out was pretty unfriendly, which gave a negative touch at the end. Wifi was the slowest we experienced on our 4 week trip in California - in the most expensive hotel during our trip. For us, the hotel is too expensive for what you get.

From start to finish, the staff were first class all the way and made our stay. They were thoughtful, attentive, and anticipated every possible wish with a smile. We truly could not think of a single thing they could have improved. The hotel is full of charming details and the room is both cosy and luxurious which is a pretty hard feat to pull off.

Prime location, superb staff and customer service. Upmarket hotel with great vibe - good place to unwind at the end of a California road trip.

Coast restaurant busy so long wait times for table but all staff encounters excellent. Somewhat overpriced compared to other 5* international hotels but this is California!

I think we could have had a better view within our price class. I repeatedly let them know it was out 15 year wedding anniversary, but our room was not the best within our category. my mother has a motto to never accept the first room offered, but I really dislike having to be that person.

Housekeepers were to pushy made me feel uncomfortable like I needed to hide any valuables or money I might have she cleaned not even 8 hours prior and then same lady asked if I need clean I said no then she badgered me for 5 mins until I sternly said NO! You did it few hours ago come back tomorrow! Otherwise amazing stay!

the WiFi was down for 60% of our stay in our room. the hotel were very fair and complimented us by way of dealing with this. worst bit was the room had a very damp feel to it every night which I think is down to the Air Con (room 217)
