Rodeway Inn Gunnison

I actually liked being a little out from town. Being by the Golf course, makes it quieter, and a nice walk for dog owners down the residential street in the morning, or evening. Room was very accommodating with refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, very comfortable beds, all ground floor rooms, and you can actually open your window at night! A great plus, for fresh air when sleeping! Being dog friendly, the room was clean smelling, and no indication of previous dog owners in room, ie: urine, hair, etc. Believe me, I've been in horrible dog friendly rooms before! Very nice staff, and the hot breakfast was a added plus to have in the morning, before starting the day!

The room was clean, bathroom, rug, counters and all, but needed to sweep (keep clean) the outside entrance into room, as everything was tracked into room. There were cob webs (and spider) on ceiling and corners near door that were overlooked in cleaning; sorry, I just truly hate spiders, but took care of that little sucker! I did have a slightly cool shower temperature, even on full "hot"; addressed that with owner when I checked out, and he was very apologetic.

Breakfast was awesome, they had eggs and sausage, make-your-own waffles, plus other continental breakfast items. It was raining when I arrived on my motorcycle, was hoping to walk to a store to get a beer, but nothing in walking distance. Manager offered me a beer from their cooler, which I though was very nice!

Didn't realize it was quite a distance from actual "downtown", not walking distance, but that was OK.

We really enjoyed our stay at this little motel. Very big rooms. Ours had a two side chairs, worktable and chair which we used. Fridge and microwave were nice. Did not expect a really wide assortment at breakfast... eggs, sausage, waffles, fruit, bread. Coffee was great and very friendly staff.

It nice and quiet. Staff was very helpful.

The microwave in the room did not work very well. If you put something in there for (paper cup or glass); it would get too hot and you could smell something burning(paper cup).Then you could not access the outlet to to plug it in (cord to short); had to move it. The shower would get hot and cold (a lot) and could not regulate it.

Very friendly and accommodating staff (thank you, Parker!) Relatively quiet hotel, even though you are under the flight path for the airport. (The planes don’t fly over too often and not very early in the morning or late in the evening.) Room was clean. Very good hot breakfast with eggs and sausage and the usual non-hot items. We liked that the pet-friendly rooms were kept separate (in another building) from the other rooms. Nice little picnic area with BBQs. Appreciated the fridge and microwave in the room.

Wifi signal okay, but the bandwidth was not good (slow download speeds). Could use more outlets for electronic devices. A few things in the rooms could use updating.

Nice area with gas grill, fire pit, cornhole, picnic tables and a hammock. Selection of board games in the lobby to keep the family occupied after dark.

Unfortunately the hot tub was out of service the two days we were there. Would have been nice to soak after hiking at the national park all day.

Staff is very friendly and the room was clean. We asked for help with a lamp that was malfunctioning and for more wash cloths and both requests were taken care of by the time we got back.

See the lamp issue above. The lobby area could use a little sprucing up...removing some of the supplies and extraneous material on the desk would make it look more professional.

The property is well located for all activities in the Gunnison area. While the motel is definitely “old style”, it lacks for nothing in basic accommodation. It was exceptionally clean which was valued during what is hopefully the decline of the COVID pandemic. The large parking spaces were especially appreciated, making it easy for unloading and loading of travel gear. The breakfast was not quite up to par due to lingering COVID policies, but the owner-operators went out of their way to make it as good as humanly possible under the circumstances.

It appears that the restaurant part of the property was parceled off to a church, and painted a hideous color. That affects the esthetics only, and can be easily overlooked in view of the great accommodation otherwise.

Ever since, Covid hit, all the Hotels seem to be making up for their losses and PRICE GOUGING their customers !! Things have went up, but, I don't think this is right !! Only, a choice few can keep up with these prices ! SUPPLY AND DEMAND, CAPITALISM OR WHATEVER YOU WANT TO CALL IT, ITS DOWNRIGHT SACRILEGIOUS, but that seems to be the way of the world, now

MY Entire stay was great. Mattress and pillows very comfortable, Quiet and private. Friendly staff. From the moment I walked in to check in, Parker was very friendly. It is always nice when traveling to meet such good, friendly people!

There was not a thing I did not like. I didn't like that i had to get up out of that comfortable bed. I didn't like that I had to leave behind the comfortable pillows :)
