The staff are very helpful and friendly and the rooms are huge by most standards ... old style and comfortable - I love it! I always have a soak in the bath while I'm here and the beds are very generous. The location is right next door to all sorts of facilities at Geylang. Food halls, street stalls, shops of all sorts ... all within easy walking distance.

Anyone can find fault in the most expensive hotels ... I prefer to concentrate on the positives.

Friendly staff; huge room, esp. for Singapore; lots of storage and hanging space for luggage and clothes; comfortable bed; nice pool; interesting neighbourhood; not too far from MRT (500m or so); 24hr front desk; good housekeeping (tea, coffee and water topped up daily, fresh towels as needed). Would we stay again? Yes - the size of the room and the pool are winners.

No hot water for shower except early in the morning - the later in the day the colder it got; bathroom could have been cleaner (eg: mould at the edge of the handbasin); bathroom tap was loose; the hotel is a bit tired (didn't bother us); noisy corridors if other guests are inconsiderate and not keeping quiet when coming and going and letting children run around the place.

It has no competition in its category in Singapore - the size of the room is enormous, it has a full-sized wardrobe, a working desk, air conditioning conveniently located with ventilation outside the bed, daily cleaning and bottled water. A full-sized swimming pool with clean water, hawker food center with Malaysian, Indian and Chinese cuisine at excellent priceson on the ground floor of the building. Public bus stops right next to the hotel.

Relatively long distance from the city center but excellent public transport frequency, metro station quite far away, need to cross several intersections. The appearance of the bath is a bit outdated, but is spacious, functional and have a bathtub.

Very nice hotel, helpful and professional staff, clean! Stayed at this hotel with a team of 9 as we were in Singapore for a competition. We were very quickly checked in, the rooms were excellent. The staff is polite and helpful, if we asked for help they always helped us! We loved it so much, next time we will definitely stay in this hotel again! Special thanks to Denson!

Efficiently run, helpful staff. Very clean and towels changed daily. For value this hotel suited our needs perfectly. Close to many bus routes and short walk to MRT Station. Islamic area with lots of food outlets on the doorstep. Nice pool. Huge room. Lots of hot water and a bath. Kettle, coffee and tea sachets. Hairdryer. Good wifi. Yes a bit dated but it depends what is top of the priority list - ours was space and connectivity to the sights not a room with a view .

Everything! The Rooms are very ‘spacious, really clean & quite comfortable. The Air Con is reliable & sufficient all day-night. The WiFi is ‘strong & constant throughout the stay. The Swimming Pool is the ‘best!…and the outside areas for relaxing & ‘Laundry duties if needed. Next to the Hotel are all local delicious ‘eating & dining outlets…& 7Eleven, ATM facilities, Shopping, MRT Departments etc.

There is ‘Nothing to dislike…We all know the Hotel is ‘older & the premises is ‘aging…But, it’s still a really Great! Hotel! I will be there again…for all My convenient needs & business meetings in downtown City area.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at 81 Tristar and I must say, it was a wonderful experience. From the moment I arrived, I was impressed by the hotel's convenient location and the amenities it had to offer. one of the standout features for me was the ease of finding halal food within walking distance of the hotel. As a Muslim traveler, it was important for me to have access to halal dining options. Fortunately, there were several halal restaurants and eateries just a short walk away, making it incredibly convenient to enjoy delicious meals without having to travel far. In conclusion, I highly recommend hotel 81 tristar for its convenient location, particularly for those seeking halal dining options within walking distance. The nearby bus stop was an added bonus, making it easy to explore the city. With excellent service and comfortable accommodations, my stay was nothing short of enjoyable.

The place was tidy and walking distance to Paya Lebar Station - Circle Line! Easy access to public transportation and they have a food center just at the corner of the hotel. The hotel staff were very accomodating and were so quick in providing our needs such as our daily supply of water and coffee.

I loved our stay here, I only have good words for this hotel!

It was very ‘spacious in the Rooms, open hallways & wide areas…compared to other ‘cramped, boxed in Hotels. Air Con was great. Very good WiFi & reliable. The ‘Swimming Pool was fabulous & the Laundry machine is very conveniently available poolside.

The Swimming Pool…could be ‘vacuumed & chlorinated much cleaner & more often. It’s a main attraction & ‘focal point of sale…So Keep It Cleaner!
