The location is very good. Short distance to Farrer Park MRT. I book Studio which has simple kitchen setup. Which is good during Chinese new year can cook simple meals. I have claustrophobic situation which i ask them to give me a room with window. The price tag is reasonable compare with nearby. I am surprise there are some share kitchen in some floors which i am not aware of.

Already know that the cleaning take every 3 days. However it is disappointed the shampoo and body wash is not top up and check we had to ask. there are no spare toilet paper. I stay there are for 11 nights had to ask 3 times for extra toilet paper roll. It is better to have each paper roll i do not like to bother the staff for extra toilet paper roll. The kitchen stove has no instruction had to ask the staff to explain how to use it. And also they have a fancy boiler water which also has no instruction.

We stayed in a two bedroom suite. It was large, especially in the context of Singapore. It was perfectly clean upon arrival, aircon worked well, lighting is nice. The lounge area is nice, too, with a smart TV. We got a great deal, paying less for this large two bedroom suite than some "family rooms" at capsule hostels went for during the same time (this probably depends on the time you book). The locatioin was great (perfect compromise of paying less for not being downtown, but still being close to everything). At the same street corner there was a mall with lots of food, MRT and supermarkets. More restaurants were a short walk away. Bus stop was also only a short walk away.

The mattresses were on the firm side, I guess some people like that. A little bit of daily housekeeping would be nice. However, it was properly explained at check-in that there is no housekeeping by default and that we would have to request it if needed (for example, on day three we needed more toilet paper, so we told them at the reception on our way out and when we came back it was in the room).

Ideally located in vibrant Little India, with so many good food options around. The hotel is two minutes away from Farrer Park MRT making it easy to get around Singapore. Rooms are squeaky clean and cosy, and are cleaned regularly during the stay. The staff is really friendly and helpful. Aqilah, Victoria, Elfa, Tishah, Sharlia, Farah, Rowen and Firdauz made my stay very enjoyable! The staff gave me the best recommendations and were here to answer all my questions. Owen House felt like a second home and definitely played a part in me enjoying Singapore. I recommend staying at Owen House by Hmlet!

I highly recommend this place as I've been here twice! The staff is very welcoming and always in a great mood. The check in process can be done online or at the desk and both ways are just as fast. They respond fast to requests such as new towels/sheets (and room cleaners are very nice as well). The location is a few quick minutes away from 7-11 and City Square Mall which is nice for a quick grocery/food run (works great if you get the studio room). The rooms are clean and presentable and air conditioned to your liking.

There really isn't anything I didn't like. The only thing I could think of is having to leave! :(

Our room 510 was very large by Asian standards, even two people with a lot of luggage have enough space. There is also a spacious wardrobe and much storage space in the bathroom. We particularly liked the indirect lighting (in addition to the spotlights in the ceiling). The powerful shower (both hand and rain shower) is also very spacious, and there are dispensers for shower gel and shampoo. The rails for hanging towels are by no means a matter of course. Other positive features are a fridge, a safe, a master switch, and plenty of sockets. The only thing missing is a socket for the hairdryer in the bathroom. The router in the room provides optimal WiFi, the internet connection was stable and fast. During our three weeks at the hotel, housekeeping only took place on Tuesdays and Fridays, but this was absolutely sufficient. Additional needs can be requested at reception at any time. All the staff are very friendly and helpful. The two communal kitchens on the 4th and 6th floors have proved very useful. Refilling own containers with cold or hot water from the water dispenser saves a lot of plastic waste. The problem with the slow water flow mentioned in previous reviews no longer existed. You can cook with a hob and microwave, pots, pans and cutlery are provided. The hotel management even replaced a pan that was unsuitable for the induction hob with a suitable one after we pointed it out. Our room, far away from the lift and stairwell, was not noisy, we didn't hear anything from neighbouring rooms and only little traffic noise. As the hotel does not have a licence to sell food, breakfast is not offered. But you can prepare your own meals in the communal kitchens, and there are numerous places to eat and shop in the close vicinity in every price range. Overall, we felt very comfortable at Owen House during our three-week stay. I am glad that I was able to book the hotel at a special price (approx. 50 % off), otherwise we would not have been able to afford the stay.

Due to the high humidity in Singapore and therefore also in the room, damp clothes (e.g. after hand washing) only dry very slowly, especially as there is only passive ventilation in the bathroom. But of course the hotel can't do anything about that. Apart from that, I can't think of anything to criticise.

A no frills, but stylish hotel perfect for anyone looking for a base of operations to visit the city state, and come home to a relaxing room. All you could need in terms of the usual facilities... tv, tea and coffee, fridge. The bed was big and comfy. We were lucky to have a balcony overshadowed by trees as a warm but pleasant place early morning or pre evening's out. The staff were all young, helpful and cheerful.

About the only down side was nothing to do with the hotel, but at night it seems that Singapore also has those who can flout the noise rules. If facing the street a noisy nightclub had some irritating bass until late, but mostly suppressed by the double glazed French windows.

Was very nice and modern. Everything was clean and functioning well. Very spacious rooms. Close to the train station. Staff were very friendly.

For some reason 3 out of 4 nights our room wasn’t cleaned. So we had to keep asking for new towels and toilet paper etc.
