Everything! The location was perfect for me and I was so happy w/ the courtyard facing windows! It was spotless and beautifully furnished and decorated. Great bathroom, lots of space & light, wonderful bed. Large good refrigerator. The concierge (I’m sorry I cannot recall her name) was fantastic! Incredibly helpful, smart, I felt great confidence in her.

Matisse Bucharest Old Town was in the middle of a busy loud area but once we went inside the building it was super quiet. There is an ATM inside so that was great. The beds were super comfortable. The AC wasn’t turned on before our arrival - we did a late check in so that would have been much appreciated BUT in the end it didn’t matter because the rooms cooled down super fast.

It would be more appreciated if there was an extra set of bedding in the closet. The reception desk shows the hours of operation being 1100-1500 (or something around that time) BUT we never saw anyone at the reception desk. We didn’t really need anyone but it would have been nice to have someone there in case we had a question…

We recently had the pleasure of staying at Matisse Bucharest Old Town and I can not say enough wonderful things about our experience. The level of hospitality here is unmatched. Every staff member we encountered was friendly, attentive, and genuinely eager to ensure we had everything we needed. Special mention to the housekeeping staff who ensured our room was immaculate but mostly to the front desk team, Bogan and Alice, who welcomed us with smiles, and offered thoughtful recommendations for local attractions, updated our rooms without extra charge (just because they could) and safeguarded our luggage until we returned from a 3 days trip abroad! Their dedication to guest satisfaction was evident in every interaction. The hotel itself is beautiful, classy with modern amenities, and a cosy, inviting atmosphere, exactly at the centre of the Old Town. But what truly sets this place apart is the people. The staff made us feel like valued guests, not just a room number. They anticipated all of our needs. It’s these personal touches that make all the difference. Kindness and professionalism like Bogan's and Alice's were truly outstanding and made our stay even more enjoyable. My husband and I stayed at the Matisse Old Town for 4 nights last week. We found the apartment spacious and comfortable, well equipped (although a microwave would have been welcome) and very centrally located on the edge of the old town within easy walking distance to the metro. Bogdan and Alice were very helpful, arranging for our baggage to be stored as we arrived several hours before check-in time. In particular, Alice went out of her way to purchase flowers, chocolates and sparkling wine which our daughters had asked to be in our room upon arrival to celebrate an anniversary! A big thank you to them for helping to make our stay memorable and super convenient. (Booking and paying for a “taxi” in advance for the trips to and from the airport through the Booking.com site added to a stress free trip. These “taxi” are in fact very nice sedans, arrived punctually, were more comfortable than yellow city ones, and better value.)

The location was great once we worked out; if we turned left out the front door, we would be beside the minimart and a coffee shop. When continued, if you take the first street right, you are in the heart of Old Town - Google just kept taking us the other way :-)

As much as we tried, we could not get the air conditioner to make the room cool in the bedroom. When we entered, the windows had been left open, but one of them didn't have a screen on it, so we had to fight off the mosquitoes at night. It would have been good to know the Minimart was right next door, as Google took us on an adventure when we went to pick up supplies of bread, milk, and coffee.

Where do I start? Everything was perfect! The location is fantastic, right on the old city, a few seconds walk from the best restaurants, bars and dance bars in town. The staff is lovely - during the hours they are present. When we were traveling one day, my eldest son was worried that he had lost his phone, one of the staff members went up to the room specifically and found the device in the kitchen... The service is amazing and smiling, the cleanliness is wonderful. I will definitely recommend the place to anyone who comes to Bucharest, and there is no doubt that I have found my favorite place to stay and stay in the city! You are 11 out of 10!

It was an excellent location for us. It was a short walk to many good restaurants and a few of the old town attractions. Easy access to the building and apt. Beautiful, large spaces, nicely decorated and very comfortable. Prompt and timely communications with very helpful and kind staff.

Bedroom was a little dim for me. Unfortunately, a music event close by took place on both nights we stayed that played such loud music until 6am that left us half rested. It is near the university and we always liked the energy and lively atmosphere it brings but untimely visit for us. I would still definitely recommend a stay!

The room was very clean, pretty, spacesous, practical with a full kitchen which was very comfortable. Exactly like the photos on their web site. The location was great and very convenient, close to everything and with a small supermarket right next to the hotel. The parents bed was very very comfortable and the kids opened sofa was a nice size which fit 2 bigger kids.

The curtains weren't sealed and the light came in early in the morning. My parents had a noisier room so if you want quiet, ask for the inner rooms with the inner windows only. .

My friend and I had a wonderful 2 night stay. Reception staff were friendly and very helpful. The location of the apartment was right in the centre of Bucharest Old Town. The apartment was beautiful, clean and spacious. My expectations were greatly exceeded and I would definitely recommend. The Therme spa was approx 20 min car ride away and the airport was roughly 25 min away. So many places to eat near by. If you want a fancy dinner date try Élephante restaurant. The ambiance, decor and food was 10/10.
