Upon arrival, our reception was fabulous very friendly staff from start to finish. Comfortable room very warm, food was amazing breakfast was so good evening meal was also very good also very clean. The spa was lovely good size pool and best jacuzzi I have been in steam room great but sauna was cold. Good wine in the bar Just a really friendly atmosphere loved our stay Thank you so much

Not much not to like really the only negative things were no towel rail in the toilet and pillows very flat very minor. If it was summer we would of loved the room with the balcony also would of been perfect for the dog

It was a Spa hotel, family run for families. In a location, we had never been before. Good swimming pool and family changing room. Nice town to go for a walk.Quaint town but good roads to travel to attractions. We were in new block very nice twin room with ensuite bathroom with shower. Hotel catered for all our requirements for meals and staff were very helpful with our baby's needs.

Room was very warm. Fan in room was very noisey, to loud to cool the room down. Childs travel cot given - mattress had a gap - so unsafe for the baby with us to sleep in, as if she rolled, she couldn't roll back. We did mention this before we left.

The location and facilities were great - we wanted to enjoy a short break and walk on the Offa's Dyke path, which was very easily accessible. I chose the Burton Hotel as I wanted a swimming pool, in case the weather was bad and walking was not an option. The hotel was cosy and popular, with the bar full of guests and locals. Staff were friendly and efficient and explained access to facilities at the outset. The food and drink served in the bar (we didn't use the restaurant) was good quality and very enjoyable. Included breakfast was of a good standard. The swimming pool and changing rooms were clean and staff were constantly keeping things clean and tidy.

Standard rooms are quite small and plainly furnished, but acceptable for the price paid. There was an issue with the room we were allocated. Staff attended immediately and we were offered another room straight away, ending up with an upgrade. There were some really minor things eg. loo roll holders loosely secured, but nothing that would bother me. This is a pleasant hotel with super helpful staff, good food and great facilities.

Staff were extremely welcoming and helpful. Bar menu was good and gave a couple of tasty vegetarian options. The spa facilities were great and after checking out we were allowed to return later that day for a treatment by Gemma and use of the swimming pool again.

The towels that were given to us to use in the spa were miniscule. Very disappointing. If I'd been paying to use the spa, I would have been hugely disappointed by the size and quality of these towels

This was our second visit to the Burton Hotel. On arrival we were able to upgrade to a room in a separate block from the main hotel. Lovely room with king size bed and large screen TV. We made good use of the spa facilities which was great after a long motorcycle ride on a hot and humid day. We had a good few pints in the bar and a lovely meal in the restaurant. Best mixed grill I've had in years.

Went to restaurant for breakfast. Good array of options. I resisted temptation to go for the full English and opted for kippers and poached eggs. Eggs were cooked to perfection but unfortunately the kippers weren't cooked at all. They were cold and raw in the middle. A very disappointing end to what was otherwise a great stay.

I have stayed here on numerous occasions great place to stay but did notice place was understaffed The staff are great and work hard but can only be in one place at a time the girl who was hoovering in the bar had to come and sort me out at breakfast as no one was around or busy doing something else Same as bar had to wait at bar as bar girl was checking someone in or doing something else Nothing major but little things make a difference All in all great place food was great nice spa and friendly staff would stay here again

From the moment I arrived, the staff were friendly and helpful. My stay was a stopover during a solo walking holiday and the duty manager was thoughtful, making recommendations relevant to my stay (offering to carry my rucksack, we used the lift to reach the room and he showed my the fantastic swimming pool and leisure facilities). I ordered dinner to my room which was delicious, well-presented and great value. I would definitely stay again.

The bathroom in my room was a little on the small side, but that wasn't a problem really as the room was a single, so it was fine for one person.

The bar and reception facilities are modern and the bar well stocked. The staff are super friendly and accommodating - even letting me leave my car in the car park for an extra day after checking out. I didn't use the spa facilities but I poked my head in the door and all looks modern, clean, and well managed. The evening meal and the breakfast were excellent.

The room (10) I was in was a bit dated, as has already been stated by previous reviews. The ensuite shower was tiny and took a bit of fiddling to get hot. No big deal though

We came here for a relaxing mini break before the busy-ness of the Christmas period and we had the most relaxing time! The spa is the highlight of the hotel and they are very generous with how much you are able to use the spa for an overnight stay. It is kept very clean, it wasn't too busy and has a very relaxing atmosphere. There's a sauna, steam room, jacuzzi and the pool. It was the perfect way to relax after spending some time in the gym. We planned to visit Hereford but ended up staying and using the spa instead because we enjoyed it so much. The food was delicious - especially the salt and pepper calamari. I liked that the menu had a good variety mixture of traditional dishes that you don't often find nowadays (bread and butter pudding, kipper for breakfast), classic dishes (steak, lasagne, pie) and also oriental dishes (Asian curries and starters) - there was something for everyone! It was also a reasonably priced. There was a good atmosphere in the bar too - it seemed a popular and safe place to have a drink. The staff were all super friendly and made us both feel very valued staying there. Overall it was a brilliant stay, there was a lovely atmosphere in the hotel and it exceeded our expectations!

There wasn't anything that we didn't like, however: - I'd recommend taking your own flip flops and/or dressing gown if you want them as they only provide towels. This was not an issue for us but for some this may be important. - The gym has limited equipment, especially if you are into your weight lifting (no barbells or squat racks), but we still found it enough to get in a good workout. - The website advises you to book in early if you want a massage and it's best to listen this advice, I left it too late to book in. - The hotel is slightly dated in it's decor, but we kind of liked the cosy feeling that gave it. This is only a superficial thing, everything else is top quality!

Staff were well trained friendly and helpful. We stayed in the new part of the hotel which was quite clean and comfortable. Big patio door which lead onto a sitting area with table and chairs . We ate in the hotel the prices were reasonable both for thefoodanddrinks. The spa was very good changing rooms very clean . The hotel was well situated for travelling walking around the county. We would definitely use The Burton hotel again.
