This is a very special inn. We picked it because we are walking the SWCP and this is right on the path. It is a stunningly, beautiful location. The inn itself was all set up with it's Christmas decorations and the fireplaces were both lit, which made it really cosy and snug (especially because we were there in Storm Bert, which wasn't as bad as we'd imagined it could be in this area, so close to the sea). The breakfast was great and we had dinner on all three nights of our stay. The food was good, but it is the staff at the bar and within the restaurant area who were so friendly and attentive that helped go towards the fabulous stay that we had.

Breakfast was excellent. As expected it was included in the room rate but this was not made absolutely clear as we were presented with a priced menu. The location was superb, our room overlooked the beach. It was a little chilly and windy this time but there are lots of tables on the terrace for warmer days. I guess it would be very busy on a summers day. There is free parking for about 8-10 cars but you have do a tight 3 point turn in front of the inn which isn’t immediately obvious. There are paid parking option just short walk away. Good to have a small fridge in the room.

There wasn’t anything significant apart from the information issues above. The wi-fi was free but required setting up an account using more personal info than we were comfortable with. We had no mobile reception (EE) so we couldn’t get on line via our phones. The system is provided by St Austell Breweries.

The breakfast was excellent quality, well cooked and a good variety of choice, Staff were outstanding and could not do enough to help make our stay a great experience. Can only recall one name which was Ben from front of house who served our breakfast on Tuesday 22nd October - he is a real credit to your organisation. Would recommend a stay here to anyone.

Only slight downside was the limited parking onsite and approach to the carpark but very understandable bearing in mind the location of the property itself . To be fair there is good parking a short walk away if you are travelling lite.

The location is great and has everything you need in one place. The staff is friendly, polite, professional and always happy to help with anything. Rooms are a good size, well presented and had a fridge! The menu has a great selection, and the meals we had there was very good. For breakfast there's a self serve continental and also a selection of freshly prepared cooked breakfast. Parking in the area can be tricky in peak season, however the Port William has got parking for guests right next to the hotel. On occasion it can be full during peak season but then you can just park a few min down the road in the council car park.

That we had to go home :-)

Second visit to this wonderfully situated inn with amazing sea views from every room and the restaurant. Staff really friendly and room/bed comfortable. Ideally situated for exploring Tintagel and the North Cornwall coast. Breakfast and dinner were well cooked and enjoyable. Well kept beer cellar. I'm sure we will return.

I would have liked a little more variety in the evening menu, but all our food was very well prepared. Very limited parking at the Inn itself, and all spaces were ooccupied by staff and non-residents. However, the privately owned car park situated 100 yards away was free at the time of our visit, so this was not an issue on this occasion.

The location was spectacular, close to the sea and right by the coastal path in both directions. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was good quality and a notch above regular pub grub. The breakfast was very comprehensive. Having an easy access exit to be able to take the dog out first thing and late at night was very useful. The dog was made welcome with attention as well as treats and a dog towel left in the room. The fridge and tea/coffee/biscuit provision was better than we’ve experienced - including sachets of fresh milk.

Booked as a romantic one-night stay get away. Very comfortable little room with lovely details such as the Elemis Pillow Spray and Nespresso machine. Very good attentive staff. Fabulous location -in a cove on the edge of the sea. There are lifeguards but we were slightly late so the tide was in a bit too far for us to swim safely. Wonderful breakfast overlooking the sea with everything thought of eg warm croissants, granola and a full English. We also ate dinner at the hotel which was delicious - we were slightly worried that when they told us there was 'music' in the pm that it would ruin the evening - but we were placed away from it while eating and it had finished by the time we went to bed - and actually it was a wonderful performance that added to the atmosphere.

The window seat in the room was marked with drips from something, which was a shame as it made the room seem slightly unclean. Parking could be a slight issue up a very steep hill with limited space.

Location was great for walking along the coastal paths. Dogs made very welcome. Food excellent. Staff very approachable and friendly. Room with sea views - so peaceful and relaxing lying in bed listening to the waves. Ensuite lovely. Elemis toiletries.

Would have liked a set of drawers in the room or bedside cabinets. We had nowhere to put our clothes apart from a small pipe sticking out of the wall to hang a few bits on.

Idilic Inn, in a perfect setting… We stayed at the Port William whilst continuing with our Coastal path hiking - Port William, Tintagel and Boscastle circular. Such a charming, character full place to stay, ideal for a morning sunrise dip too! The rooms were spacious and comfortable; the staff were welcoming, friendly and professional. We had breakfast, lunch and dinner during our long weekend - all of which were delicious. Definitely recommended and knew our favourite place on the coast!

We loved the position. There wasn’t anything we didnt like about this holiday. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Special thanks to licensee Alan McFarlane and restaurant manager Mary.

Next time we would want to book more in advance to get a bigger room. We were aware that it was small when we booked so no surprise there. It’s a busy place with only a few rooms so we took what we could get.
