Carole, her husband, and staff are so friendly and happy to help and make your stay as comfortable as possible. Our lovely heart to heart conversations were great, and I felt at home. My dog Stella was very happy too and very popular! The food was delicious, and the bed was comfortable and the street quiet considering it's close to lots of shops. I slept really well. The distance to the beach was perfect, too. I would definitely recommend you stay here. It's down to earth, relaxing, and I'm looking forward to staying again with my dog. Thank you again, I'm very happy indeed.

Right from checking in with Carol, we were warmly welcomed and well treated by everyone that we met. The room (Family Room 10) was clean, comfortable & warm, with all facilities that we could want provided. We slept exceptionally well and were treated to an exceptional breakfast in the morning...and........we were offered muffins to take on our journey. We went shopping prior to checking out, and leaving the car on the forecourt was no problem so we didn't have to look for parking. A great stay and we'll definitely be staying at the Chudleigh again if we are in Clacton again

We can not not complain as what we were charged gave great value for money. Keep up the great work Carol, we loved the stay.

Everything about this hotel was spot on! The staff were friendly and chatty, we was made to feel at home, the room we had was probably the most comfortable hotel room we have ever been in, it was clean, cosy and a lovely comfortable size, breakfast was a range of choices, cereals, fruits, full english, the range of jams for our toast was amazing, the cost of the room and breakfast was very much worth every penny we paid, this hotel needs an upgrade from 4 stars to 5 stars, we was quite sad to have to leave, but we will definitely be booking to come back here again.

Lovely homely setting, staff and owners very welcoming and professional. Room was so comfortable and fantastically maintained. Breakfast was set up wonderfully, the food was very tasty, lots to choose from and again fantastic friendly service. The attention to detail in the room was great. Very close to the seafront, chip shop, bars, town centre but far enough away so it isn't noisy. Thank-you Carol and your husband for making me feel very welcome. I will see you again soon as I most certainly will be staying here each time I visit.

The WiFi didn't work but it was not a problem. It was nice to have a break from the Internet 🙃

A lovely place to stay, perfect location right near to the Pier, parked the car immediately outside, the host was super friendly, the room was lovely and I don't think anyone could have made it cleaner than it was. Everything was spotless. The bed was comfortable, the linen and towels high quality, Netflix on the TV. A really good made to order breakfast too. Really excellent value, we really couldn't fault it at the price. Would stay again and have already recommended it

There was nothing we didn't like. But if i have to find something negative to say it would be that as we were on the top floor the seagulls were sometimes on the roof and were noisy at times but we are at the seaside! Nothing the host can do about this, it's all part I being on the seafront, just something to be aware of.

Location was perfect. My room had a side view of the pier. I had everything I could possibly need. Even a teapot as well as a choice of a mug or teacup. Bottled water was also provided. I had 2 armchairs and a good sized tv. The shower was a good size with plenty of hot water and toiletries. Breakfast was a really good choice on hot plates with a teapot and additional hot water. Fantastic friendly service every day. Brilliant.

Only downside for me was a poor internet connection. But as it wasn’t a real priority for me and I didn’t tell them, I didn’t give them a chance to try to improve it. Plenty of cafes and restaurants nearby provided access so it wasn’t a real problem.

Carol and her team are delightful - friendly, helpful and caring. Attention to detail is what makes staying at the Chudleigh extra special. My room was very comfortable (upgraded from Single). Carol rang to ask if I had everything I needed (which I did - plus more inc delicious chocolate). Breakfast was served specially early for me because of catching a train - and I was sent on my way with a muffin for the journey and a chocolate reindeer (in honour of the coming Christmas).

From the start of my booking until the end of my stay, the hospitality provided by the owners was outstanding. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and the added extras in the room were unexpected and valued. The bed was super comfy. The location is brilliant being less than 5 mins to the seafront and pier as well as the town and buses. And I couldn't forget to mention the freshly cooked breakfasts and delicious muffins each day. All in all a wonderful stay and would highly recommend.

Charming little guest house, run by a lovely couple, who really look after their guests. Super clean and comfy room, with everything we needed including bottles of water, biscuits and even chocolate. The towels in the bathroom were possibly the most luxurious towels we have ever had in a hotel, and we travel a lot and have stayed in some great hotels. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious! Located within easy walking distance to the sea front and Clacton Pier. Perfect for a weekend get-away.

What a gem! We always travel with our dog so aren't often able to stay in places of this quality. Carol and Peter are charming and their many years of experience are reflected in their attention to detail. Every need and comfort is included. Parking and unloading on their forecourt was so easy and was followed by a warm welcome. We had a room on the ground floor and it was light and airy with an amazing array of drinks awaiting us plus cookies and chocolate! The bathroom was excellent with a full array of toiletries(even a make up remover flannel). The towels were white and fluffy and so soft(wonderful after a summer of rough towels in France & Italy!) Breakfast was 5* with everything you could think of😊. A choice of 4 fruit juices,stewed prunes, grapefruit segments,fresh fruit. Cereals, yoghurt,toast and a full menu of hot options including smoked salmon and scrambled eggs ( we've never had that in a breakfast included) Finally the LOCATION is perfect - a very short walk and you are on the seafront near the pier. Great for Clacton parkrun. Thank you for a wonderful stay
