This is a beautiful, country pub and restaurant. We were greeted by the land lady and shown to our beautiful little cabin outside . Amazing value for money lovely and warm, the bed was really comfy, we both slept well. We ate at the pub and the food was delicious. My husband had the pork belly , and he said it was the best he had ever tasted . Great menu choices. Breakfast had a great choice. The full cooked breakfast was delicious. Staff ,landlady, and landlord are warm, friendly, and very welcoming. Lovely surroundings great atmosphere. It's definitely worth a visit.

The room was a very good size, clean and quiet with a lovely view. Lots Parking and very convenient . Loved the size of the bathroom and how spacious everything felt overall. The restaurant had a nice atmosphere and the steak pie was perfect! The bar and barmaid Steph was great, with a good choice of beers and other drinks. There were local customers as well as guests which made for a really good atmosphere. Perfect location to visit local places of interest and great base for lots of fantastic walking opportunities.

The addition of local fresh vegetables with the restaurant food would have been appreciated, and reflective of the prices charged.

Delightful staff. Good basic food. Very comfortable attractive clean room. Nice outdoor deck. Good car parking. Did I mention the wonderful staff!

Bathroom door creates a sealed room, as a result mould is a problem. If door fixed open during the day, more ventilation might help. Plastic bath mat has thick black mould-yuck. However that being said the bathroom, and bedroom were spotless. The water pressure not great so shower/ bath lacked oomph, but not a problem just not up to the high standard of everything else.

Lovely country pub. Had eaten before arrival but saw some lovely food going out to what appeared to be regular customers. Staff were great and friendly room was great and comfortable. The only fault I could find (and it is a pet hate of mine) the shower was very poor BUT that was the only thing that knocked it down from an EXCELLENT stay! Can’t thank the guys and I think the owners for a lovely overnight break!

There is only one thing and that was Very Poor shower pressure!

The friendliness of staff and local people, excellent food, and beer. Would definitely recommend and would go back again if up in that area again. Was a fab stay. We loved it.

There wasn't anything to dislike. Think there could be a few small improvements on housekeeping. For example, making the bed, providing clean cups every day., ensuring teabags, toilet rolls kept stocked up.

It was lovely having breakfast served to you rather than the usual buffet. Food was amazing. The restaurant in the evening was really good with a great choice on the menu and several specials on offer too.

We were in the lodges and it had a shower over the bath. A handle on the wall would have helped with stepping in and out.

Lovely friendly staff. Really delicious breakfast and excellent Sunday roast. Quiet and peaceful setting. Room was spacious and very clean. Nice walks nearby for the dogs. Would definitely come back again

Just a minor thing, but the TV is very small in the room. Wouldn't normally be an issue but we'd really hoped to watch the football on the evening we stayed and we had to use our tablet instead.

Chris & Sophie run an excellent pub with accommodation. Located in an enviably good position, major attractions are within easy reach. Good selection of beers, wines, friendly staff & superb freshly cooked food.

The ensuite bathrooms could do with shelving near sinks for toiletries.

Bed was very comfortable, room was light & airy. Everything was clean with ample tea/coffee making. Bath was a huge asset after a long drive and 10 days camping. Made to feel very welcome by staff and locals and spent a very pleasant evening in the bar. Food was great, with the breakfast being very hearty.

Nothing!!

The staff were lovely. The food was good. Lots of well cooked, homemade food. We ate 4 nights in a row and were very happy with the food. Chris and Sophie are working their socks off to give good service, having just taken over the pub a couple of months ago.

The rooms could have been better. The ‘superior’ room inside the pub, where we slept the first night, looked ok but the TV didn’t work properly - we couldn’t turn it on - and the shower over the bath was poor. We moved to a ‘standard’, chalet-type room, outside in the car park. Despite being classified as ‘standard’, this was much better. Shower excellent, TV worked - huge bonus! I understand that the chalet rooms have been upgraded whereas the inside rooms have not - as yet. If I were being very picky, I would have liked a luggage rack and a shelf in the bathroom to put wash bags. Maybe a handle to get in to the bath?
