Very friendly owners , they went over and above to accommodate my wife who is gluten and dairy intolerant which was brilliant. The Old Mill was spotlessly clean , our room was large with a large bathroom and a very comfy bed. The attention to detail was great to make us feel welcome , coffee and cake when we arrived , fridge with gluten free milk added for my wife , breakfast was great with various choices for us( including gluten and dairy free ) and all the produce is local sourced as well and we left in the morning with a full stomach and a good night's rest. The Old Mill is also 5 mins walk from the main street with various places to eat and drink to choose from. I would definitely recommend The Old Mill for a stay , it is worth every penny.

The Old Mill is a beautiful home that has been decorated with exceptional taste! The bedrooms are spacious and beautiful. The hosts are friendly and very helpful, answering questions about the area. We walked St Cuthbert’s Way and Peter answered many of our questions about the path and local birds, etc. Breakfast was a delight in the sunroom with views of their flower garden. Beautiful calming classical guitar played as we ate a delicious breakfast!

Only thing we would say that seems to be quite common in the area is the non level flooring. Which we experienced at many of our stays. Comes with the age of the homes and buildings.

The Old Mill is a lovely old building tucked away in a quiet corner of Wooler with easy access to everything in the town. It is spotlessly clean and our twin room was large, well appointed and very comfortable. Paulette and Patrick were excellent hosts who pay great attention to every detail. The fridge outside the rooms with water and milk was a nice touch and breakfast in the conservatory was superb. The Old Mill proved to be an excellent place to stay on our cycle tour of the Borders and Northumberland and it would make a great base for visiting this area.

Our hosts Paulette and Patrick were so welcoming and very good at suggesting places to go. Our room was large and comfortable and well appointed. The extra touches such as a fridge for milk were thoughtful. There was plenty of hot water which was so welcome at the end of a long day. We loved looking out at the pretty garden at breakfast. There was an excellent selection on the breakfast menu and everything was beautifully cooked. We needed a break and returned home feeling refreshed.

Nothing.

Excellent main course breakfasts (tried 3 of 4 choices over 2days), also creamy porridge with honey, cream, milk or salt(!), fresh fruits, home made jams and endless high quality coffee and tea. Beds v comfy and lovely touch to have shared fridge on landing with fresh milk & cold water. Part of St Cuthbert’s Way & several guests said it was best on the route. Was no trouble to offer us early breakfasts to get on with the walk. Excellent local knowledge & of SCW. Thanks Patrick & Paulette!

The hosts are a lovely couple,. The breakfast was lovely with a great selection of fruits, cereals and cooked. The location was very useful for visiting the local areas. Pauline and Patrick went above and beyond by giving me a birthday cake and card. Very informative about places to eat nearby and great directions to find them. Water and milk supplied for drinks.

Another large towel would be useful as trying to dry long hair with small hand towels is tricky, however im sure they would have supplied one if id asked but i had taken one with me in case so i didnt need to ask. But even then it's not something id say i didnt like, as the hotel was excellent and bed comfy.

Patrick was exceptionally welcoming - as I told him, his B&B had absolutely everything you could want or need, and those things all done very well, with nothing that you didn't need. We were walking on St Cuthbert's way, he was the only B&B to have a boot drying machine as soon as we walked in the door - unfortunately much needed and appreciated! The room was exceptionally comfortable and clean, Patrick welcomed us in with fresh coffee and a warm smile. Excellent hospitality, and excellent breakfast choices and ambience. Will make it a destination if we're ever in the area again.

Oh WOW! This place is great - you'd have to be daft not to book here. Room was way bigger than expected, totally comfortable, bed to stretch out in and a lovely bathroom. Really nice choice on the breakfast menu. Hosts were welcoming anbd made us feel right at home. Could have stayed a couple of more nights if we weren't on a yomp to Lindisfarne. If you can get a table - try the Milan italian restaurant, good service and good food. Enede up having 3 courses (very unusual!)

Nothing. Can't fault the place or the hosts.

Exceptional hospitality at The Old Mill. I was made to feel very welcome and comfortable, as was my Dad who met me at the BnB before check out - he was welcomed in and given a cup of coffee! The Old Mill was so kind in allowing us to park the car in their yard all day too. Breakfast was fantastic - I had the waffles which were cafe level quality. Thank you for such a wonderful stay :)

The very warm welcome on arrival with warm apple cake and tea. Friendly, caring - but in the background - not intrusive. Excellent, comprehensive breakfast - lots of choice - well prepared. Arriving at the b&B after a long hard day was a real treat. Couldn't ask for better. Thank you.

2 flights of stairs - but to be fair we were well aware of this before arrival! It was still a bit of a haul to the top of this old mill building.
