The position is great. Walking distance from the action in the town. Clean and painted white and blue which fits the environment and the cleanliness of the hotel. I alway laugh when people write in a review how friendly the staff were, but in this case I really mean it. They were so lekker. To me, it is a place to say when visiting this town. You can spend a lot of money at other places but here, you get what you pay for. It’s new and it will become well known soon. Best of luck to the owners and the staff in the years to come.

Amazing little hotel with the most amazing staff who offered the best hotel service I think I have ever received in South Africa. They were extremely attentive and friendly and made us feel so welcome from the moment we arrived. The pool area is fabulous with all day sun and the location is perfect for a little walk into central Hermanus and its bars and restaurants.

Our room backed out onto the bin area of the hotel and generator so was a little noisy and not very scenic. But wasn't an issue as we weren't in the room much :)

Our stay at One Marine Drive Boutique Hotel was a true delight, leaving us with memories of unparalleled hospitality. The The staff is truly set it apart from the rest. They were incredibly friendly and went above and beyond, making our stay unforgettable. Breakfast surpassed our expectations. If you're seeking an unforgettable stay in Hermanus, this boutique hotel is undoubtedly the perfect choice. Highly recommended. We will be back again and again.

There is nothing not to like

Beautiful boutique style hotel. The staff was very welcoming and always willing to assist. The breakfast was extremely good, with great coffee and a nice setting. The pool area is small but all that you need to cool off and relax by the pool. The room was very nice: comfortable, spacious and luxurious; with a coffee, tea and fridge station outside the room servicing 3 adjacent rooms. I would suggest to have a marker pen available to mark the stuff that you put into the communal fridge.

Although our view of the ocean was fantastic, our balcony was very close to the street (2nd floor) - but it was expected. I would book 3rd floor in future, as that balcony is a bit further removed from being visible from the street. The only room cleaning service that we received in a 4 day stay was having the bed made. No vacuuming or other cleaning was done. Room service for dinner options were very limited and more limited than the website or the printed menu in reception indicated.

Right on the main road the location of this hotel is wonderful. Loved the fact that our balcony overlooking the bay was covered so you can watch whales and dolphins right from your balcony dry and in comfortable chairs in any weather. We saw tons! The beautiful cliff path is right in front of the hotel. The staff is amazing, as is breakfast. Liked the idea of the honesty bar.

In the honesty bar you can only buy a big bottle of wine. I would recommend also adding small ones for just a glass.

Absolutely lovely place to stay. Staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming and helpful - nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast was delicious - a nice choice of food and the option of dairy-free milk. The room was lovely with beautiful sea views. The first place that’s offered a separate make-up face towel! A really great ideal as I’m always getting black mascara on the white towels. The hotel was right on the cliff top path which was a lovely walk to the Harbour (right) and the town/restaurants/beach (left). Running felt very safe along the cliff path and roads. Would highly recommend this hotel and would love to visit again.

Beautiful room with a lovely balcony and good view. Very quiet and a comfortable bed. Staff was exceptional. I liked the honesty bar/ fridge on the landing outside our room. Complimentary afternoon cake in the reception area was a nice touch

Everything was very good. My mushrooms on toast at breakfast was disappointing - over salted and all onions with very few mushrooms but really I am just being fussy here and I could have said something and it would have been changed with a smile - so no, no complaints.

The level of service from all of the staff from the moment I booked was such an exceptional experience. The morning of checkin I requested if there was anything to make checkin go smoothly due the amount of time my family had spent traveling there. They responded quickly to my request. Once arrived the staff was even more of a delight to meet. So helpful and eager to assist us with our every need from parking, warm smiles and greetings, they handled our bags with care out of the car and up to our rooms, offered us refreshments right away prior to and during checkin, provided restaurant suggestions and even made a reservation for us, pleasantly chatted as they escorted us to our beautiful room, provided valuable tips for in town late evening parking safety and awareness, were very helpful with their available wine selections for a pre dinner cocktail which we were able to take up to our room, and were so caring to even advise how prawns are served in most of the restaurants with head/tail on in the local area when we were headed out for dinner that evening. The turndown service was so sweet, and such a clever touch with leaving a gummy whale on the pillows. The beds were so comfortable, I felt completely refreshed the next morning. The bathroom’s heated towel rack was such a delightful feature. And the bathrobes were comfortable and stylish. The honor snack bar and tea/coffee bar outside of my room on my floor was such a nice touch and convenience to not have to go downstairs, However, the stairs were not even an encumbrance, so I could enjoy a cup of tea on the balcony as I watched the sunrise and the waves roll in the bay. The breakfast setting downstairs was wonderful with a beautiful selection laid out on the self service table as well as several options on the menu. The food was delicious and everything ordered was served quickly and cooked perfectly.

I should have asked how to operate the television. I could only get one channel to play. But it wasn’t long and I was fast asleep in that comfy bed afterall.

It was perfectly homey and intimate. The staff is amicable and helpful without fuss and airs and graces, making you feel welcome. The decor is also unfussy but really lovely. I only stayed one night but will be returning. I am not a breakfast person but the staff convinced me to try something. I thoroughly enjoyed the sauteed mushrooms on toast which kept me filled for the entire day!

It would be nice if there was a see-through cover on the windows in the bedroom looking out to the ocean and in the bathroom. I felt a little vulnerable as workers were around painting and snipping in the garden. There were also many people on foot passing by and looking in. I wanted to relax and enjoy the view and sunset but did not feel comfortable. The shower also made me feel uncomfortable.

We received a very warm welcome from Byron and Gilbert on the Sunday that we arrived. We enjoyed a slice of the cake-of-the-day and tea at the pool terrace, and a G&T at the fireplace in the early evening. My Mom and I were made to feel very much at home, and the staff went out of their way to cater for our needs, and to enquire whether we were comfortable. The room was very clean, with fresh and modern decor. The beds were comfortable, with good quality linen (although I found the pillows to be a bit hard). We had a good view over the ocean.

There was a change in the reception staff on the Monday after breakfast. Unfortunately, we did not find the staff on duty on Monday to be very professional (although they were very friendly). The standard of service on the Monday was not consistent with a five star rated boutique hotel. We did not receive the same treatment, comforts or consideration that were offered over the weekend.
