The Marine is a superb Hotel in a central location of Hermanus with stunning views of the bay. The breakfast menu is excellent with lots of exciting variations and included an outstanding continental breakfast. We stayed in a standard double room which was very comfortable, with kingsize bed, separate bathroom and clean. The bar, lounge and especially the dining room are a delightful. The swimming pool with sun loungers are very well maintained and a great place to relax after a day out exploring all that Hermanus and surrounding wineries has to offer. We loved out stay and will definitely return.

The location, facilities, staff and style were all excellent. It is a wonderfully stylish hotel, appropriately relaxed for its seaside position. Grand architecture with modern facilities. The bedrooms were spacious and well-appointed, with generous mini-bars and lovely sea views. The lounge, pool and bar areas were comfortable and well served. The hotel staff were courteous and very helpful. We loved it.

We felt that the restaurant did not quite match the high standard of other aspects of the hotel. The menu for dinner is limited and bistro-like; when we asked for a salad for the table of 7, we were told that that only small side salads were on the menu and they could not make a large salad. Although the breakfast was good with many options, the staff seemed confused and the poolside table for 7 or 8 was incompletely laid on both mornings (missing salt and pepper, napkins, tea cups, etc).

Excellent location in the centre of town and right on the beautiful cliff path. The property has magnificent sea views and each room is unique and beautifully decorated, making it feel like a luxurious home rather than a hotel room. The staff went out of their way to ensure that we had a fabulous stay. The hotel restaurant food was superb and offered an extensive selection, however the position of the hotel makes for easy access to a number of great restaurants. Spa treatments were also excellent and the hotel has a very quiet and private pool for guests.

The parking attendant directed us to our parking spot, we switched off the engine, stepped out of the car, looked towards the ocean and.... saw whales, whales and whales. The proximity to the cliffs of these majestic mammals was just spectacular. The Marine is perfectly located and we spent a lot of time sitting on our balcony 'whale gazing'. Enough about whales. The Marine breathes quality and class. We truly enjoyed our high ceiling room with comfortable seating area and bed. The bar and restaurant offer high quality drinks and food in a very relaxing atmosphere. All members of staff were very friendly. When we return to Hermanus, we will certainly come back to The Marine.

The hotel is beautiful, the flowers alone are worth a special mention. The rooms are very big and comfy with gorgeous toiletries in the bathrooms.

When we checked out we were asked to pay the room rate again although the booking had already been paid. We had to wait a while whilst this was sorted out and we needed to show confirmation that indeed payment had been made. We appreciate mistakes happen but no apology was given, only when we suggested it would be a good idea to say sorry did that happen. It unfortunately left a bad impression on us - one that could have been so easily avoided.

The staff inclusive of the management team were exceptional. They made every effort tho understand the needs of the customers. The Christmas lunch was superb and catered for all dietary needs. It will be good for the owners to consider some revamps by keeping the ambience of the environment. This is certainly a place to visit even if just for a meal.

The checking of the rooms before allocating to ensure that all is according to the way a customer would like to be welcomed.

Breakfast was amazing - so many choices all presented beautifully also many cooked options and to be served outside on the terrace was very special Location of the Marine is incomparable,-to have delicious dinners in that restaurant enjoying such views out over the sea just breathtaking. Plenty of areas to explore nearby. Loved that sea pool! Bedrooms clean, cool and very comfortable, beautiful decor and excellent bathrooms. Staff helpful, friendly and attentive.

Breakfast: delicious - something to eat and enjoy for everyone! Location: enjoying a hearty breakfast outside in the sunshine and having 4 whales cavorting right in front of us for over an hour…….can’t possibly get better than that! Room: Comfortable and cosy. Staff: From Bell-Boy to Management - friendly, kind, helpful, obliging and always with a ready smile and word. THANK YOY ALL for making our 3 day stay a beautiful time!!!

That our time passed by so quickly and we had to leave…….hopefully to return next year.

The hotel in front of the ocean and in the city center where you can find many shops and restaurants also the breakfast was awesome ( Buffet + hot dishes prepared in the kitchen ) and the staff were friendly

The marine pool in front of the ocean was full of Sea urchin which hurts my son and we need to go to the hospital and the hotel should put a board for being dangerous to swim in this pool Also i recommend to the hotel to maintain this pool and put some lights to be one of the best hotel amenities

Everything about the hotel is good! Very comfortable rooms which are tastefully decorated. Very friendly and helpful attentive staff. Restaurant cuisine is tasty and well priced. Senior management are hands on to ensure top quality service. Wonderful central location in Hermanus overlooking the sea within easy walking distance of shops, restaurants and coastal path. There is nowhere better to stay in Hermanus.

There weren’t enough power sockets in our bedroom.
