Truly amazing house. It is very big and split into three; two apartments and the kitchen/ dining area. You share the garden with the other room, including the lovely pool. You get the complete run of the house which is lovely. The interior design is phenomenal. Felt like it should be in a magazine. The study, bedroom and bathroom were all amazing. Garden is beautiful, full of citrus trees and there is a pool to escape the heat when needed. The garden is a true oasis right in the middle of town. Breakfast was delicious! Granola, eggs, vegetables and homemade spreads made with fruits from the garden! Hein the owner was great and very friendly. He gave us two very good recommendations for dinner both nights we were there. James the man that tends to the garden was also very friendly and professional. Phenomenal stay that we would recommend to anyone. Montagu itself is quaint and we felt safe walking around town. We used it as a base to travel to the vineyards around Montagu and Robertson.

Small boutique hotel (only four rooms I believe) with friendly owners and staff, lovely breakfast (with all guests together!) which is homemade, beautiful estate and very very very nicely decorated. These owners have an exquisite eye for detail and design. The pool is comfortable. Everything is well thought of. The staff already made dinner reservation for us as we arrived on a Monday, which has fewer restaurants that are open.

If I had to name one thing I think it was the shower, where the hot-cold function was a bit so-so; sometimes very hot, sometimes very cold.

What a gem of a place - spectacular house with 2 amazing suites. We had the room with the bathroom overlooking the gorgeous citrus garden. The house is very unique and beautifully furnished. Guests have use of the library, cactus conservatory, kitchen etc. Hein was incredibly helpful and a great help with planning where to eat and what to see in the area. The swimming pool was beautifully clean and warm. Breakfasts were an absolute treat each morning.

Can't fault the place. Such a stunning house.

We travel a lot and must say that this was one of the most gorgeous and unique places we’ve ever stayed. Ode to great taste, wonderful design and high level of hospitality. Everything was perfectly curated - from interior/outdoor details to breakfast and dinner experience. The owners and Brydon were truly welcoming and went an extra mile to make our stay so enjoyable. It felt like staying at a good friends’ place, with the most beautiful memories. Thank you so much for inspiring us with your passion and showing us what a dream house looks like. Still amazed and can’t wait to come back, hopefully, soon!

This location is a hidden gem and a must visit if you like interior design, gardening, tranquillity and art. The kitchen and glass house is the prettiest I have ever seen... and my camera is filled with pictures of this beautiful property. There are only two rooms in the property, and enough space to leave each other be. In the morning the other house (bath 30) will join you in the kitchen for a fresh prepared breakfast at the family table which is a very nice and cosy start of the day. We followed the suggestions from Hein for the area and visited some wineries and an amazing restaurant in the area (Kapokbos). So if you are there, ask Hein for some advice since we had a great tour in the area!

We liked everything about our stay and we were sad we had to leave. The only small thing to make it even an 11 in score (suggestions for the property) is to clean the pool a bit more often due to the cute chickens and trees nearby, and to offer an additional fan on extremely hot days.

One of the best properties we have ever stayed at (and we have travelled a lot). Have no words to explain how clean, cozy and beautiful the house is. Every detail goes unnoticed, the wonderful smell in the rooms, the gorgeous linen sheets, the Art Deco details. It feels very private and you get the house to yourself in a way. I had one of the best sleeps ever, I want to take the mattress and sheets back with me! Very calm and peaceful as well. And of course it goes without saying the interior design and art paradise…

only regret not booking an extra night !!

Understated from the outside but stunning on the inside with rooms containing beautiful art and artefacts. These represent a lifetime of collecting for the owners and are put together in an elegant way to provide a comfortable and luxurious stay.. The bedrooms are large and extremely comfortable. The bed linen is the best I have ever slept in. The whole property is clean and the gardens are relaxing.

The garden and house are exceptionally beautiful. Lovingly restored and filled with gorgeous art and fantastic pieces of furniture. The bathroom overlooking the garden is by far the best hotel bathroom that I have ever encountered in my life. Brydon, our host, went out if his way to make our stay great and was very engaging and knowledgeable. He also made the most delicious breakfast in the charming kitchen.

Who wouldn't fall in love with Jongmanshof? From the moment you walk through the door you enter a sanctuary. From the beautiful furnishings, the scent that linger in the rooms, the beautiful linen, the attention to detail, the tranquil pool, the cluck of the chickens, the citrus and their blossoms, the delicious breakfast, the attentiveness & welcome you receive from Bryden & Hein is hard to match . A truly wonderful experience. What's not to love?

Having to leave!

A beautifully presented property, with many thoughtful touches and exceptional attention to details to maximise the comfort of your stay. The bed linen was luxurious, there were many lovely spaces to relax in and the garden is stunning!

Although the breakfast was wonderful, there was only one sitting at 9:30am around a shared table. While this worked fine for us, it might not suit all guests.
