Wonderful hotel in a 200 year old Dutch farm. Beautiful surroundings, very tasteful furnishings and a relaxing atmosphere. We had a fantastic room/suite all by ourselves, which was absolutely magnificent and extremely comfortable. Wonderful breakfast with a chef who prepares the most delicious food. This place will make you relax and lose all stress and thoughts of home… Absolute tóp hotel!

Beautiful historic buildings in spectacular surroundings, just a short hop from the picturesque village of Swellendam. Superbly appointed and comfortable rooms and delicious breakfast. Friendly and helpful staff. Wonderful yoga session. We especially liked the fact that a staff member cleaned our car pre-departure without being asked!

We were slightly disappointed that the hotel’s restaurant is currently closed. A minor point regarding the room: the ceiling light appeared to have a malfunction where one bulb could not be turned off and another flickered all night long.

Beautiful traditional thatched buildings set in beautifully maintained gardens. Our cottage was spacious and tastefully decorated. Water bed was sensational. I think that was my second experience of a water bed and loved it. Jocelyn and Linda were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was delicious and some lovely choices of continental and cooked dishes. Walking distance to the town, delightful cafes and restaurants. The museum is a must visit. Roy, the owner was very kind and interested in our well being. Pool was sensational!!!🤣

Our final night of our holiday in South Africa so we decided to splash out and spend a little more by booking De Kloof. We did not regret it. On arrival we were greeted by a very friendly lady who said we could select from two different rooms that were available. Both were absolutely beautful, very spacious with high quality furnishings. We selected "Merlot". The room was fantastic. Huge bathroom, lovely balcony overlooking the garden and extremely comfortable. After a lot of time in the car we had a lovely afternoon relaxing in the sun by the pool where there was a drinks service by ringing a bell. The location was a little way off the main street but walkable to the restaurants. Breakfast in the morning was a little slow but perfectly acceptable.

We loved our room. We liked the surroundings ,one could go for walks but need to want to explore. We love to walk. The staff was very friendly, it was quiet and very relaxing.

The coffee machine did not work and there should be a guide to TV instructions , maybe if I was them provide Netflix. Being rated a five star location, in the evening when we wanted a drink, but we could not find anybody.

Lovely breakfast served on the terrace by a very friendly lady. Beautiful surroundings around the old, historic building. Swimming pool with mountain views Five minutes walk main road, (quite steep on return). A further 10 max to a choice of 3/4 restaurants. Huge room and bathroom.

The room needed a little attention for example the bathroom blinds didn’t work and the safe was small and difficult to operate. The bed linen was quite discoloured, maybe due to the property not being on mains drainage? Generally a little ‘tired’.

Very stylish accomodation. Excellent pool area. Friendly pool guy who also washes your car.Excellent breakfast served on terrace. Generator backs up the kitchen to combat load sharing cuts.Easy walk to town and restaurants.The accomodation was beautifully and stylishly decorated. Both breakfasts and staff were delightful.

No backup power in room.This was the most expensive place out of 7 that we stayed in and we felt it was a little overpriced. The restaurant was not open for dinner.

The pool was really nice, as was the breakfast. The groundsman and Linda were absolutely lovely and so helpful and happy.

The decor was a little strange and we were expecting more on-site spa facilities, a restaurant and an area to enjoy pre and after dinner drinks (as per the website). It was lovely but not sure I would refer to it as a "luxury hotel and spa"!

The dinner 5 course meal we had was outstanding and was great value for money. The waterbed was a highlight as we felt so relaxed after sleeping on it and size of the rooms was nice and big. The fireplace in the lounge area of our room was used during the cold winter nights. Also the facial at the spa was something my wife said was very good. We also liked that they washed our car before we left so that was a generous touch.

The breakfast was a bit disappointing as the poached eggs on white bread and salmon was one of the worst poached eggs breakfast I've ever had so that was not great. Also the coffee for breakfast was nespresso coffee and it was cold so I could not drink it. It would have been nice to have a cappuccino made fresh so we had to buy coffee down the road. The bath spa jets were not cleaned so we had balls of hair that came out when we used the jets in the bath which was not great.

Excellent breakfast served on the terrace. Very comfortable bed and plenty of space in the room. The bathroom was huge. There is no longer an on site restaurant which was a disappointment but the hotel booked us a table at an excellent local restaurant 15 minutes walk away and recommended a taxi for our return trip.

We are not keen on overhead "rainfall" showers that make it difficult not to wet hair. WiFi was a but slow but probably due to regular loadsheading.
