Location was perfect for walking to nice restaurants. The manager booked Restaurants for all 3 nights of our stay and was always there to greet us in the morning. Staff were very helpful and pleasant.

Suited our needs perfectly - some guests may miss a tv in the room.

The location is very good in the center of Montagu. The hotel is a boutique hotel with nice design, a nice garden and pool. The check-in process was very good, the room spacious. All the employees were very friendly. Breakfast is served personally. We got good information on hiking options and a heritage tour in the hotel.

Finding the hotel with GPS was difficult, there is no signage of the hotel in Montagu. According to Google the hotel is located in Bergsig, Bergsig is the next town after Montagu. This is confusing and should be changed, the hotel is in Montagu. I explained the issue to the manager.

Amike and her staff were exceptional. Our first contact person was Shamisa, super friendly and knowledgeable about the room and advised us on what we need to know. Amike when the extra mile, she had booked dinners for us during our stay.

Great staff all around - friendly, attentive, passionate about making sure their guests are happy with their experience. Initial impression upon arrival was an understated property, but beyond the entry this place is very very nice! The rooms are beautifully decorated, superbly appointed, and 100% clean - the best we have seen in a long time. The breakfast area, overlooking the lawns and pool area, was sunny, pretty and inviting. The adjacent bar area well stocked and also incredibly well appointed. I cannot recommend this place enough! We will be going back!

No complaints about anything.! Wish Montagu would not shut down completely on Sunday and Monday nights, but that's not Monte Vista's fault.. There were only two restaurants open in town..

I usually do not write reviews, but this boutique hotel exceeded all my expectations! The room, facilities and pool area are even better than the photos. The rooms are larger than it looks on the photos and the bathroom is fitted with high-end finishes. They provided excellent breakfast and a nice little bar area for evenings. This is an excellent location for mountain biking and they also provide mtb storage. My only regret is not staying longer! I will definitely book again.

We had a nice stay at this boutique hotel. Everything is beautifully designed and very modern. We especially liked the garden with the pool. The location of the hotel could not be better, you are right in the center of Montagu and everything is within walking distance. Also the staff is really friendly and nice. Our room was very clean and modernly furnished. The bathroom with shower was large and clean. It is really a very nice and modern boutique hotel.

Unfortunately our room was smaller than expected and on the side of the street. We would have liked to have known this before and it was not fully apparent when we booked. The pictures at the "double room" are a bit misleading because there are many other pictures with with larger rooms, table and seating areas. In the end it was just a small double room without seating area and table inside the room. In addition, you can hear the deafening generators of the other hotels and restaurants when loadshedding. The breakfast was very good, but you didn't have much choice. They have a new egg menu every day and some small bowl of fruits and jogurt.

The manager was incredibly kind and helpful and went out of her way to make our stay memorable. For example, she pre-booked tables at restaurants for the duration of our stay. Our room (Nr 4) was private, cosy and tastefully decorated. Breakfast was delicious!

Not criticism, but suggestions: We had standard size towels in our bathroom - I expect bath sheets at a 4 star establishment ;-) There were no clothing hangers in the room, and limited space to hang clothing and wet towels

Beautiful property, great facilities, excellent breakfast and lovely staff. What else to say? Oh and it’s in the centre of Montagu which is a lovely town with some great restaurants.. also went for a couple of great runs. Nice and hot while we were there. The pool at the property was great, 10/10 for everything. We went for a work writing session and got loads done. Thanks to the staff and owners/managers.

It is a nice place to stay in a town which has seen some hard times. It has clearly been completely renovated in the recent past and the rooms, in a rather old fashioned room layout, are very comfortable. They have been modernised, tastefully decorated and they are generally comfortable. The breakfast was very good with lots of choice and extremely generous portions.

A great surprise from the moment you arrived. Everything felt trendy, well maintained and intimate. Pauline was incredible. We arrived late and she was caring and wanted to ensure we ate. She immediately phoned restaurants and booked us a table at Montagu Country hotel. (Great food). The gardens and the reception/restaurant interior was trendy, fresh and clean. The room was great. Everything was clean and well thought through.
