Nestled in the beautiful town of Montagu, the Vineyard Country House offers a great retreat. My room was impeccably clean, well stocked (hygiene items, coffee and rusks, a carafe of sherry as a gift, etc) and the amenities, including a refreshing pool and a large balcony, really elevate the stay. The breakfast spread is a culinary delight, and the dining room has a farmhouse charm to it. What truly sets this place apart is the warmth of the hosts, ensuring a memorable stay. Vineyard Country House promises an enchanting escape, leaving guests longing to return.

This stay is among the most memorable and enjoyable we've ever had. The hostess was welcoming and resourceful, particularly during the storm and flood on the 25th of September. When all around us was chaos and closure, she graciously allowed us to stay with her, providing a safe harbor. The owner also personally prepares breakfast for her guests, serving a delicious array of options including yogurt, orange juice, fresh fruits, and a choice of warm breakfast dishes. Her personal touch, combined with the estate's harmonious blend of traditional charm and modern amenities, such as the pool, created an ambiance of homely hospitality, making our stay utterly delightful and remarkable. The estate itself, rich in quaint, traditional elegance, yet modernly equipped, felt like a warm, welcoming home, ensuring a splendid stay for us.

The storm caused some leakages to make a dripping sound, of course, as expected. Note that it didn't affect our stay at all as it wasn't in our room, just the sound.

Breakfast was great, freshly made, and very satisfying with slight variety each morning. Lovely strong coffee. Very friendly owner and staff, with great suggestions of places to visit.

Upon checking in, we were advised that we booked room 1, but should rather pick one of 2 others available, as these were bigger. Although I specifically booked room 1 as it indicated it was the largest room, by about 10-12sm to the rest. Anyway, we ended up in the smallest room (16sm).We still had a great stay, but I found this rather odd.

Excellent! EloiseMeyer has a treasure in Sandra and she deserves to be very well looked after. I hope this comment is relayed to the owner. I have one major criticism. The pool steps are grossly unsafe and should be replaced. They are wobbly and the steps are dangerously unsafe. They should have anti clip coating. I swim every day of the year and was very diappointed.I do have dead nerves in one foot and did not dare attempt those awful wobbly shiny steps to the pool.

Although in the town, once inside the grounds one has the feeling of being out in the countryside as one is surrounded by vines. All the facilities were available in the room, comfortable bed, nice bath , outside shower, etc. Breakfast was prepared to order and tasty. swimming pool also available set amongst the vines.

Two of the lights in the room were not working, unable to change channels on the tv as I suspect the batteries in the controller needed to be replaced. The shower temperature proved to be impossible, one minute scalding hot, the next cold, and there was no indication which was the hot tap and the cold one. Breakfast whilst very good took a long time, primarily because we were 9 guests in total managed by one person.

Breakfast was fantastic. So much care went into the preparation thereof, truly a home cooked feast. Fresh fruit and yogurt for a start, which were followed by a wholesome hot breakfast. The property felt very homely with a high standard of attention to detail. The surrounding vineyard and neatness of the property made the experience so much better. We will definitely go back.

Breakfast was superb, location of the establishment was excellent, and the setting and the gardens were beautiful. Host was extremely helpful with excellent recommendations for eating out.

A lot of light comes into the rooms at night. Perhaps darker curtains with blockout and a roman blind on the windows that face the main house to blockout the security light outside the window would help.

Everything. If you just drive past the road, you'll never even know it's there. The room I had was private. It had the most beautiful view, and it was just so refreshing staying there. The bed was super comfy and warm, the breakfast is delicious, and the location is great. You can walk to everything in town, and it's basically a 2 min drive to get to most places in town.

Beautiful small hotel in the midst of a vineyard in the centre of Montagu. Rooms were very comfortable, each with private verandah with a view, and breakfast was lovely. Estelle was most welcoming and helpful, offering us advice on restaurants and rock climbing in the area (the hotel even offered to lend us climbing equipment) and allowing us a late check-out, which we really appreciated. Made our visit to Montagu a real treat!

Estelle was very welcoming and helpful. The grounds are just beautiful and the room very comfortable with everything I needed. Lovely fresh white linen and towels and big comfortable pillows. I loved the pool area, the delicious breakfast and the lovely outdoor shower.

If I have to find something, then I would have liked more variety regarding coffee and refreshment options in the room.
