Nothing was too much. Service was exceptionally good and very friendly. Everything very well organised. Attention to detail very good! Our tour guide was brilliant and knew everything about the animals we saw. We were very happy with our room - the decor was great, it was very spacious and clean.

The food wasn’t bad but didn’t blow us away. We expected exceptionally good food and came away slightly disappointed. It took a while for hot breakfasts to arrive and although we had arrived at the restaurant in good time we had very little time for brushing teeth etc. after breakfast in order to be ready on time for morning drive.

What a memorable experience. Stunning wild location but with all the comforts and luxury of a top hotel. We stayed in Tilney Manor which only has 6 rooms , making it very personal. Staff all very friendly and professional. especially Monica who took a genuine interest in all her guests. Excellent food. Room was huge . beautifully appointed, with amazing views. We received complimentary champagne and chocolates for our anniversary and a lovely turn down for the housekeeping staff who looked after us very well. Game drives were great , our ranger Jan was very knowledgeable and made huge efforts to get us close to animals and see the ones more difficult to find ! We were standing 20 feet away from a family of cheetahs and spent half an hour parked while a herd of elephants fed only a few feet away from our jeep- memories which will stay with us forever

The reserve is very big , so a lot of time spent getting to the various animals . We were unfortunate not to see lions, as they had recently passed away , but new arrivals expected very soon !

Absolutely everything was amazing about our stay. When we checked in I was unwell from food (elsewhere) and the team were so attentive which was the start of an amazing trip. With their help I felt much better and was able to enjoy the full experience. Food & drink provided is of amazing quality. We stayed in the tents which are exactly as advertised - beautiful views & lovely interior. The game drives are absolutely surreal. Natural beauty everywhere. We felt completely safe & saw so many gorgeous animals. Our guide Joe was spot on, so knowledgeable and really informed us of conservation issues and purpose of Sanbona. We were in South Africa on our honeymoon & Sanbona was without a doubt the absolute HIGHLIGHT of the trip. We still cannot believe how wonderful our stay was. We were recommend a minimum of 2 days!

Nothing - it was perfect.

I was looking for a safari lodge within driving distance of Cape Town and Sanbona fitted the bill. The landscape is absolutely stunning .. we stayed at Tilney Manor and we were super happy with our room - it looks much better in the flesh than it does in the photos. Food was excellent and the staff very kind and accommodating. The game drives were very different to what i have experienced before ...there are not loads of animals there but there is a reason for that this resort is as much about conservation as it is tourism which makes it a wonderful place to stay. However we saw ....just in two days lots of elephants, the newly introduced lions, white and black rhino , baboons, cheetahs on two occasions having a feast (one on its own and one a family) , Giraffe, zebra and many wonderful birdlife Be prepared to get very close to the animals in a very stunning location with sunsets to die for. Great overall experience that I didn't expect so close to CPT.

People mention WIFI but we didn't find it an issue. If you drive you will need a 4WD but this is clear from website and other reviews. We took easy option and did the transfer which was pretty reasonable from cost POV.

Breakfast and food unexpectedly good: ingredients fresh and well chosen, cooked simply but professionally and very friendly and professional staff. Complementary wines: we expected better quality. Very appreciated the availability of Campari! Saturday barbecue to include beef (sirloin, fillet, tbones etc)

The complementary wines and the intention, corrected after our complain, to fit rows of three on the safari Toyotas: the price paid for the experience should not contemplate to sit in mid of other two unknown people for hours without turning left or right to take photos disturbing your unknown insofar neighbours!!

What an awesome place. It was perfect for a family holiday. Our ranger, Chris, was so well informed and the staff, particularly chef TP and our server (Pinwee?) were excellent.

From my personal point of view as a vegan, apart from the sit-down indoor dinner when TP made an extraordinary effort, I felt that I needed to try and make modifications to the existing menu as best I could. This was particularly true of the buffet night when I mostly just had salad, and also had to ask a staff member to find some cheese-free bread for me because there was nothing on the buffet table. That being said, the rest of the family absolutely loved the food.

Brilliant couple of nights at the Dwyka Lodge. We were concerned that the somewhat barren terrain might mean there is little to see, but we need not have been concerned. Our excellent guide Josh was able to find loads of interesting animals, plants, etc. An absolute highlight was being allowed to approach a group of cheetahs resting after their breakfast of springbok. Magnificent creatures, not at all bothered by our presence. What a treat. The Dwyka lodge is excellent. Great facilities, superb staff, excellent food. It’s just top notch stuff. We had a great time and hope to return in the future.

Natural enviroment. Informative rangers Variety of animals and birds Comfortable accommodation Amazing night sky. Did not feel crowded with vehicles.

Gate entrance staff did not manage too well-three cars arrived at once so there was a delay in checks. Given we needed to be ready at a different location for 90 min transfere to Lodge, at a specific time this felt fraustrating and anxiety making after a long drive. Packed into mini buses for the ride to lodges- would have preferred better quality transport and time could have been used to introduce the park and its history. We arranged a private transfer on departure. Prehaps an offer of fruit juice? Hot towel at visitors lodge. The tented camp will close for an upgrade in the summer; work could then be done on the visitor centre which was very basic. Food quality could be improved at supper. Lunch and breakfast good quality and selection.

Everything at Sanbona was perfect. We stayed 2 nights at Gondwana, and our room was beautiful and spacious. The bathroom and balcony were huge. We were well taken care of by every single staff member, from the waiters to the people on the front desk. Our safari guide was incredible and made sure we saw all the big animals. Our only regret was not staying an extra night! The food was also very good across all meal times!

Nothing, everything was perfect. We will be recommending Sanbona to everyone we know!

A fantastic experience from start to finish, every aspect of the stay was special and the attention to detail was superb. The staff: Cannot say enough about them. Everyone is friendly and goes above and beyond from the moment you get there to ensure you get the best out of your stay. The Rangers: The game drives with Josh were unforgettable, he is very knowledgeable and eager to answer your questions whenever they come up. The Tended camp: A beautiful location and luxurious accommodation! The tented chalets are spacious, comfortable, and well - equipped, including good wi-fi and a nice plunge pool. Food: Food was great with a lot of varieties we could try. Excellent chef and kitchen team.

We like all from start to end, no complains.
