I’m somewhat of a well seasoned traveler both domestically and internationally, so when I take the time to write. Review it is safe to say that the place in question has to be noteworthy. My wife and I decided to spend a night at SmithGrove B&B prior to heading back to Johannesburg needless to say we have been here for 4 wonderful days and have stayed in just about every room they have, each room comes with it’s own signature design and aesthetics which I can only sum up in 3 words “attention to detail” quite young l Now if you couple all of this with the unparalleled service given by the amazing staff makes leaving here most difficult thing to do. So if you are as much as considering this as your destination don’t even bother looking elsewhere but be fair warned staying just one night won’t be enough so you best make provisions to extend your stay from the get go Al & Nicci

Can’t fault a thing

The location was great. Decor was so beautiful and our suite was very spacious. Facilities were great n room was very clean n neat. Lucky was incredibly friendly and helpful

Maybe the only thing is the road noise but not much you can do about that.

It was clean, very comfortable, nice area close to shopping centers, very safe and staff were always helpful and friendly. Having the fridge and microwave in the room was a big plus.

Exiting the property onto the main road was very difficult until the grass on the pavement was cut. I really missed a full length mirror in the room. When I booked I thought a breakfast was included but having a fridge, microwave, tea and coffee in the room made it easier for a person to make your own breakfast

The place is as beautiful as it appears on the internet

Unfortunately, when we were there, there was an electrical fault in the area most of the night until about 2 or 3 am. Owners should consider investing in alternative power. Otherwise, it's a beautiful place

Very nice rooms. I was there a couple of years ago and it had changed remarkably from what is was. The room was also very clean and the host is so pleasant. I also like the fact that it's so close to the mall.

There is nothing i didn't like.

The reception from Nevile when we checked in was beautiful. He really made us feel welcome and was very pleasant. I also liked the cleanliness of the room. The bed was very comfortable and the perfect size pillows. I also liked that it was very close to the mall making it easy to get most things.

The room that we had had only a shower head and not a shower. We had been promised we would be changed to a room with a shower but later told the room was not available

It was a lovely little getaway for the night. The decor was superb and the room was cosy and comfortable and clean. The rose petals were such a nice touch too! Had an amazing stay.

I wanted a bath in our room, and a bath was advertised but there wasn’t a bath

Everyone was very friendly and helpful. The Guest house is very tastefully decorated and the attention is in the detail. Spacious rooms and very fast wi-fi speed. Quality coffee always makes you feel at home.

Because Im a general a bad sleeper I was aware of the traffic in the main road passing all night and just to be picky, I would have preferred more channels on the DSTV collection to pick from and a rusk with your morning coffee!

The owner went out of his way to assist us with checking in after hours. The bathroom and room was spotless. Loved that the host left a small bottle of fresh milk in the fridge for coffee or tea.

The water in the shower and basin took some time to drain. Stair access only to some of the rooms so it's a bit of a chore taking up luggage. However, these small inconveniences was nothing against the overall stay.

The room is huge, the bathroom and closet are also great. My 2yo and husband had a great time too. The area is quiet and calming, safe and easily accessible. Even with some heavy rains, the garden area looked beautiful from our bedroom views.

More television variety, Netflix, Youtube (unless I missed something). Otherwise, absolutely no complaints. I regretted not including the breakfast in my booking. I t would have been lovely to wake up to it, though our private plans needed us to be out of the venue by morning times.
