Ocloud Hotel Gangnam

naver map stated it was a few minutes walk from the station exit but it felt much shorter! coming out from exit 9 (be warned there are stairs with no elevator) we could see it right away, literally just off the main street. later on we saw there's an elevator by exit 7 which you can then go into the building right infront of it and exit on the other side , much easier this way if you've got all your luggage with you. given the hotel is right off the busy gangnam street, the noise levels were really minimal even late at night. Jet lag the first few days had us waking up really early, but there's Kyo bakery and dunkin donuts that's also open really early as well (and paris baguette a few mins walk). a lot of shopping and restaurants are right outside and we stumbled upon some really nice places (Kimbap 25 & Billy Angle Gangnam stn no.5 were great). We enjoyed our stay!

Extremely convenient location. Many places to eat. nearby Transportation is very easy. Room is very spacious. After a long day of work, I'm happy to find my room cleaned up very nicely. I didn't have to worry about security or losing my belongings during 1 month I stayed at the hotel.

Walls are thin. I can hear the cheerful young crowd outside the hotel, people in the next room, and the hallways.

All the staff were so friendly and really went above and beyond if we had any requests or questions. The room was so clean and comfortable. The bathroom and shower was fantastic. Also the gym facilities were great and spacious enough. We stayed for over a week and Ocloud was so convenient to get to with train, the area around is bustling so there is a lot to see and do and eat. Best hotel I've stayed in for a while!

If I have say anything bad was maybe that the rooms were a bit worn out (scuff marks on walls and floors etc).

I stay here often for business, right next to Sinnonhyeon station and a 5-10-minute walk up the road to Gangnam Station. Gangnam needs no introduction - it's central, full of shops, bars, restaurants, etc. so it's well situated. The rooms have always been more than adequate for the price and there are plenty of lifts to get you upstairs. English is not perfect among all staff (except with one Filipino staff member) but they are helpful and welcoming to me every time I visit (and I speak Korean enough to be understood). They have looked after my bags, helped me with taxis, etc. Wifi usually always works fine. Someone else visiting me complained it was a bit moody and dark in the rooms but this is what I like (I hate rooms that are too bright). I'm satisfied here for the price I pay for such a central location. Fun fact: it's a hot spot for Thais and others undergoing surgery.

The only issue I ever had was the wifi not working in a room I booked on a particular floor. As usual with Korea, it took an absurdly long time for a somewhat elderly maintenance guy to scratch his head wondering how to sort it out, telling me it was working when it wasn't. It was clear what the problem was but he was not tech-minded enough to work it out and I had to explain to the staff he had no idea what he was doing and I needed to be moved to a different room instead of watching him not work out that the wifi he was connected to was another room, and disregarding it when I pulled him up on it. Sounds condescending but just the truth of what happened. This was in isolation, otherwise fine.

The hotel is less than 5 min walk from Exit 9 of Sinnonhyeon Station, and next to a convenient store, cafe/bakery. It is also near a host of restaurants and cafes. My room is Standard Double which is a tad small but manageable for solo traveller. It comes complete with toiletries, hair dryer, ironing board, shower robe and free mineral water (2 bottles per day throughout the stay).

The hotel room door latch is quite long which make it easy for intruders to open it. While there is a lock from inside, it is advisable for travellers to bring their own door security locks for additional safety.

I’m staying there for 14Days 13Nights. The hotel area really convenient to go to other places especially by walk. And also closer to the subway stations. A lot of restaurants and Mart when go down from the hotel. The staff were super friendly and all the staff speaking English fluently. Overall is very good and i am happy to stay there.

Just 1 thing, all the rooms there don’t have a bathtub. 😅 But it’s fine for those are solo traveler and couple.

The room was well maintained and quite comfortable. I would have actually preferred less housekeeping, but the housekeepers were fast and efficient, as well as kind and courteous.

The front desk was kind of cramped and busy all the time. Some of the front desk staff were very courteous, but not all. It would have been nice to be able to check in earlier, but they were quite strict about check-in not being available early.

There are many positive things about this hotel. First of all, the location is excellent, close to all the shops and transportation including buses and subway stations. It’s slightly off the hustle and bustle of the main road, so the level of noise is relatively quiet. There are millions of restaurants and eateries to choose from in the vicinity. A 24 hour convince store is near by, in case you need something last minute. I also enjoyed the gym.

-I stayed here two different times now. Staff is pleasant. -This is a very convenient location for me to get to where I want to go. In walking distance of 2 very good subway stations. -Bed is comfortable enough and the view out is not too bad on the higher floors. -I like how the shower is separate from the toilet/sink area. -Provided shampoo, body wash, lotion, etc.

Some things that could improve are: -Cleanliness of some of the kitchen items (or perhaps they weren’t used for a long time and stuck in the same spot for too long). -Some dishes such as a plate/bowl would be nice since you do have a nice microwave. -I thought they changed the sheets everyday for the beds. However, I know they were not changed and were just fixed up nicely and tucked back in because the same stain was on the sheets in the same spot as before since the beginning (bedding smelled nice meaning maybe they sprayed fabric freshener over it). -TV cut out on my 2nd day there. On second stay the TV didn’t work at all. -With all this being said though, it’s a good stay and location for the price for me.

Everything was very clean, staff were nice. They were clearly used to clinic customers - there were a large number coming from the Gangnam area. The room was decent, lots of laundry changes, comfy bed. The chair and desk weren't that great, but the facilities were good. Fantastic value for the location, and super convenient.

Needed a more comfortable office chair in the room. The aircon was a little loud.
