We visit this hotel every year with our cats (as it is a pet friendly hotel) on our way to the Costa Brava + we love it! Great staff. Plenty of parking. Clean + comfortable room Restaurant/bar is part of the hotel + serves a good selection of food including the biggest burgers you'll ever see + for a reasonable price too! There is also a continental style buffet breakfast available which we also enjoy in the morning We cannot fault this place! It's fab!

I liked everything about this hotel. No issues wht so ever

The lady behind the counter was friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable and the shower hot. The breakfast was ok.

In the breakfast area there were paper cups beneath the coffee machine. Because we were a bit pressed for time, we decided to take our breakfast coffee to go. The lady in the breakfast area, stopped me with 2 cups of coffee and told me that food was not permitted to be taken out. She told me to throw them away. A bit petty if you ask me. Otherwise why offer a paper cup?

Always plenty of parking spaces. Check in was very easy and our requested room was available. The manager who was covering reception was very helpful and put our fridge and freezer items away as required. We always ask for extra pillows and these were already in the room which I believe was due to Marta sorting this even though she was not working on the day of our arrival. Ideally situated for exploring the town of Alfaro. Also well placed for the AP 15 travelling North or down to Zaragoza and on to Valencia etc

Rooms are a good size and clean. TV is provided although no English channels. The beds are comfortable and extra pillows are available if you want them. The breakfast area has plenty of room and tables and the choice of food (continental) is fine. The hotel has plenty of parking available and is nicely located by the bullring. There is a garage across from it so refuelling the car is easy. You can walk into the town centre very easily.

The lack of English TV channels.

Good central position. Very large well lit, carpark. the hotel was very quiet, despite it's size. The bar was very lively in the evening, with a good local clientele of families and youngsters. Close to some good restaurants in the town. Good selection of vending machines in the reception area, as well. Very nice, abundant selection for breakfast. A good, but basic, hotel.

Only a basic chair in the room. Not enough sockets for modern travellers We now take an extension cable with us! The bath was a bit slippery when showering, but at least they had a grab rail on the wall.

We have stayed at this hotel numerous times over the past 7-8 years, its location suits us well for our onward journey. It has free parking : rooms are always a good standard: pleasant staff: decent breakfast: Although we did not have breakfast this time for reasons below.

We went to the bar cafeteria, which is always normally great for tapas meals drinks etc. I had a Caesar Salad which tasted okay but some hours later, I woke up feeling sickly and needed the toilet urgently. I did not mention this to receptionist, as I thought what could she do. Hence we didn't have breakfast as I still felt queasy. However it would not put us off staying here again, but I would be rather mindful on what I choose to eat.

Reception staff could not have been more helpful and were lovely to deal with. Central location with excellent parking facilities. Room very clean and nice small outdoor balcony area. Good breakfast selection and nice to be able to eat outside on terrace with our dog too.

Only downside was smell outside cafe area on the terrace which think may have been due to drains and lack of rainfall to wash away but imagine this would not be an ongoing issue.

Easy to find. Good parking availability. Easy check in with English speaking receptionist. Quiet room requested and provided. Beds were comfortable. No problems with wi-fi or TV. Hotel and room were clean and well presented. Later in the evening we visited the restaurant [cafeteria], unfortunately the waitress did not speak English, but we were introduced to a man who we assumed to be the hotel manager. He was helpful in explaining the menu and choices available. All in all good value and we would certainly stay again. Visit the church and enjoy a drink in the square watching the storks.

We felt the cafeteria let the hotel down. Ideally after a long drive we prefer to eat on site, but on this occasion we dined elsewhere. The menu looked very unappetising, akin to a fast food outlet. The tables and chairs are also very cafeteria rather than restaurant, as is the general ambiance. The food may be wonderful, but perception is important and we decided against taking the risk.

We like it that our two little dogs are allowed to stay with us for a price of 15 euros. The room was comfortable and warm (it was cold ouitside). The best thing is the inclusive breakfast which had lots of choice even soya milk (I can not tolerate dairy). There was even a small room we could have our breakfast in as dogs are not allowed in the restaurant.

Nothing - all good

The staff were very welcoming, smiley faces. Breakfast was amazing. As we’re on a road trip, we’ve stayed at various hotels along the route. Hotel Palacios breakfast was definitely the best. I am lactose intolerant, and they had 3 different milks from which to choose. In addition I noticed that they also catered for Gluten intolerance. To most people this is unimportant, but intolerances are becoming more common. We stayed at the Kyriad before our stopover here, and they were more expensive and had absolutely nothing to cater for any intolerances or preferences. Overall, Hotel Palacios was impeccable in terms of the room, the comfort and cleanliness, free parking and indeed the wide choice for breakfast. Well done to this Hotel for getting everything right! 😃
