Parador de Almagro

What a unique, special location. The historical architecture of this restored 17th century convent is stunning and the artwork throughout just beautiful. Room was very spacious. Great wifi connection. We had such a great experience that we ended up extending our stay an extra night. It also sparked our interest in the other historical Paradores locations. Overall, highly recommend!

Bathroom tiles are not fitting with the original finishes and a little dingy (you can tell it was remodeled in the 80s). The pool area was far from relaxing, too many children screaming. The breakfast was overpriced and lacked fresh juice and proper coffee.

The hotel is a beautiful old building which has been renovated in keeping with the style. Immaculate throughout. Staff were friendly and went out of there way to rearrange room to accommodate us with a double bed which was comfy. Lovely large rooms. . They also helped with electric socket outside so we could charge our car (slow granny charge).

Disappointed couldn't get on to internet, some issues with this. The hotel is large and finding way round not easy. Could do with giving information when checking in re hotel layout, times of restaurant openings and internet details. They were on the tv but this was not explained when checking in. After asking we were given a slip of paper with opening times. Reception was very busy, people checking in.

Probably the best Parador that we have stayed in! Almagro is a gorgeous traditional looking Spanish town and the Parador is in a beautiful building a 2 minute walk from the Plaza Mayor. The swimming pool was a highlight for us as deeper than most pools, and bonus the bar just next to it. The bedrooms are spacious and so clean with such good bed linen. The breakfast was nearly as good as the setting in the old rectory and the dining room with shallow pools.

Superb Parador hotel. Like staying in a historical 16th century monument. Was a monastry. Simply stunning. Fab room, comfy bed, air con, superb swimming pool, the whole building, bar , restaurant area simply amazing. Worth the money just to stay there. We loved the place and were there 2 nights. Motorbike parked under cover in hotel grounds. Almagro is a lovely place to explore too. Enourmous selection at breakfast.

We ate in restaurant. But food was only average. Shame really. We ate in town 2nd night. Thats why ive given it a 9 score

Superb location, 5mins walk from Plaza Major. Our room was huge and the beds were incredibly comfortable

The weather was fantastic during our stay, one of the main reasons we booked it was for the pool as we like a swim in the morning. We were really disappointed therefore that the pool didn’t open until 11am. The breakfast was okay but we felt it was over priced

Beautiful building and position and garden and pool.

The fact the pool only opened at 11am when it was far too hot, should have opened earlier when much more comfortable to sit outside as it was 40 degrees by 11am!The food was not great , very bland and small amounts.

Fourth time staying here, always a joy. Love Almagro, love this parador. Good sized rooms and plenty of space. Good car parking and super easy to find. Restaurant very good and pretty but we did not eat in this time as feria was on and Plaza Mayor was the place to be. Love Almagro, such a beautiful and interesting town.

The hotel is quite nice and inviting, all the rooms and common areas were clean and well maintained. The building and its history is amazing!

It was a bummer that the pool was closed because "is not yet summer" (we arrived on June 1st at 30 degrees). We needed to leave at 7:15 and they couldn't accommodate to provide us with a snack to go even though we had all paid for the breakfast included rate and we were 8 people in the group.

The place is gorgeous, and very close to the town center plaza. Room was clean and comfortable.

Staff couldn’t accommodate a couple simple requests, even though there were plenty of us. They couldn’t provide us with snacks to go as we needed to leave before the breakfast opened and they said the pool was not open because “it was not summer” even though it was already 32 degrees outside and sunset was at 9:50 pm.

Walking in the passages, where nuns have walked centuries before, was very humbling. Great provincial town where you can visit the Plaza Mayor and connect with locals. It was a very memorable trip, because of our interactions with the locals.

Pool open earlier would have been nice.
