Exe Astur Plaza

"0ld Charm" property but absolutely up to date. Located in the historical city centre, Plaza Espana, with a magic view from the hotel balcony on the Plaza and the adjacent historical Aiuntamiento building. Hotel located a short walk from the two most important landmarks in Astorga (Cathedral & Gaudi-designed Episcopal Palace) &, if you fancy, another 5 min walk to Astorga's chocolate museum. Superb & very attentive hotel staff, all speaking English ( the latter so much missing in the Spanish hospitality industry) if your Spanish is non- existent or rusty. Also at the Plaza there are always some bars open during that notorious 2 - 5 pm Spanish siesta shut- down.

The room was large and comfortable. The hotel is located on the Plaza Mayor, with many restaurants available. The potential noise problem was neutralized by double windows.

The internet did not work at all on the 3rd floor and was spotty on the 1st floor after the staff helpfully reassigned our room. Weirdly, WI-FI reception was better literally anywhere in the Plaza.

The hotel was in a great location in a busy plaza with many restaurants. Just a 5 minute walk to the Cathedral and Gaudi’s Episcopal Palace. We had a room with a balcony onto the plaza. The room had great soundproof doors. The room was spacious and comfortable and even had a bathtub! We enjoyed that the hotel had a checkout time of 1200h!

Beautiful hotel situated on a lovely plaza. We got a room with a balcony overlooking the square even though we had paid a very modest rate. It was Easter Sunday and the locals were out in numbers. It was lovely to listen to the buzz. There was no sound at all when the windows were closed so we had a peaceful night's sleep. The hotel has a garage where we safely stored our bikes. Lovely towels, comfortable beds, very clean. Good breakfast.

Great location in the heart of the plaza. Room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. Breakfast buffet was delicious and offered early enough for us to begin our day of hiking. Numerous restaurants around.

The room was nice and beds comfortable. The lady at reception was very helpful in guiding us to the medical centre and offering to ring and translate for us. It wasn't required but great service.

No toilet paper at all! Doona too thick. Kept getting too hot. Turned air conditioner on but too hot. Breakfast very disappointing. Massive plain croissants and no small pastries. Limited fruit and only natural yoghurt. For a place this grand we expected more.

Located right on the main square, this hotel was neat and tidy, but looks like its grandeur has faded somewhat and could do with a bit of a renovation. Nonetheless, the water was hot, water pressure was good, the room was cool and the bed comfortable - which is all we wanted after a day of walking.

Breakfast offered was both full English and continental style buffet and provided a lot of choice. The dinner menu was very good and the food cooked very well. The staff were hospitable and very helpful. The hotel is in the centre of the historic city. Visit the cathedral and the Gaudi building.

Good room in a good hotel. Location great, right on the main square. Secure, underground parking for the motorbike which they didn't charge us the full car rate for. Restaurant very good and the discount for hotel residents very welcome.

the property was very good clean and very well equipped with products did not have coffee or hot water maker but had a fridge and an on-site restaurant for breakfast etc the location was fantastic and on the Camino for those walking many restaurants and a grocery store very close
