I was surprised by the stunning modern courtyard and the art galleries on each floor- I loved it! There were back areas that were more traditional. Breakfast was great. Hint: We could not figure out how to get our car to the front door to check in and drop the luggage because it is a huge pedestrian area in front of the Parador. After going around in circles a few times, my husband parked and I walked over and asked them to advise me. You turn right on the Ave of Peregrinos (one way) and then take your first left and drive in slowly in FRONT of the church and the Parador- drive right across the pedestrian area on the cobbles- it was crazy. Then they valeted our car.

There was a funky smell in parts of the Parador- they may want to look at their drains. It wasn't horrible, and not throughout the hotel, just not what you'd expect.

The building itself is stunning, and our room was large and very comfortable. Everything was very clean and well presented. We had dinner in the restauruant and both the food and the service were very good. Its a short walk into the old centre of town, and its at the start of a lovely walk by the river too. Lots of choices for breakfast including fresh fruit and cooked food. Highly recommend if you are staying in Leon and can afford the room rate.

Almost nothing at all. If I am going to be picky: the coffee at bearkfast was weak and the cost of a room is on the high side, that said, it is a five star parador, so only to be expected.

Beautiful building, stunning rooms, a standard bedroom was HUGE, excellent breakfast and dinner in the restaurant. Clean, spacious, a real luxurious treat. The added interest of the museum and church attached with the history of the building sets it apart from other hotels. It may seem a bit pricey but put that building in the UK and you'd pay more than twice as much for just the standard room.

Bit of a walk to the old town, took about 20 mins.

A really beautiful hotel. The price is high but it includes breakfast and free parking. For a couple with a car that is worth at least E55 each day. The breakfast is excellent even for Coeliacs. As well as the Cathedral don't miss out on the Basilica de san Isidoro, both are just a short walk from the hotel. Both have free guides in English which you can download onto your phone.

On Sundays and festivals there is a free guided tour of the hotel. Well worth going on but, unhappily for us, it is spoken in Spanish only.

Building stunning, room excellent apart from notes above, lovely art, safe parking.

Place seemed to be rather understaffed particularly on reception. Little attempt to provide information or welcome guests. All rather random and unwelcoming . Breakfast average - fruit salad disappointing considering seasonal fruits. Facilities for refreshments in room disappointing given 5 star rating - 3 random coffee pods with no instruction for machine. A biscuit would have been nice. No information that details about WiFi code etc were on TV.

In a beautiful, central location on the river is this stunning building. The decor, the architecture, the cleanliness, the museum are perfection. I enjoyed a drink on the terrace overlooking the river and regret not having eaten in the hotel. Our room (302) looked out over the city. We had every thing we needed to make our stay as comfortable as possible.

I could say that it wasn't easy finding where to pull in with the car or finding our way to Reception, or that there were not many coffee capsules, but this would be nit picking.

The hotel in itself is a major turistic attraction (historical building, plus the paintings gallery) and offers a free guided tour every Saturday and Sunday. Rooms are spacious and elegantly decored, with outstanding bathrooms. The parking is very large and arriving by car is very convinient.

The breakfast was good, but we expected more for this type of hotel. Some may find the hotel a bit far from the city centre (fine for us, but it is a 15-20 minutes walk).

I promised myself in 1970 I would return and stay in this Parador. I have only returned to Spain twice since then, But finally this year made the Parador the centre of my 3rd visit. It totally exceeded my expectations. And the city of León is a wonderful place too.

There was a tourist group at dinner on the first evening. I think this caused an overload on the kitchen, and my meal was not as good as I would liked. I suffered digestive problems for 12 hours afterwards. Thereafter all was perfect.

It's a stunning Hotel. Well situated in the city and located in a very sumptuous Renaissance monastery with splendidly outfitted modern guest rooms. The fascade of the building is outstanding. The terrace - overlooking a green space - and the dining room, bar and other areas are grouped around the beautiful cloisters. The restaurant serves pretty good food too.

The 5-star rating of the Parador is somewhat over-rated, particularly in the services section. The reception is under-staffed at present (probably due to Covid) and many of the staff speak only spanish.

The hotel is exceptional to see, both inside and out. The very clean room was relatively small and basic per a 'standard double room' hence the price paid is really just about the building itself and its location.

Breakfast met expectations of a hotel of this rating and price class, but did not exceed them (understandable to an extent in times of rising costs and supply issues). Regarding guest parking, while there may be good reasons for this, it was nonetheless a big issue for us (travelling home with a packed car) that the hotel wouldn't reserve a spot for us. Luckily a spot was available when we got there but next time, we will only book a hotel with secure parking.
