The staff were very friendly and helpful. The facilities were clean, well cared for and newly renovated with contemporary minimalist design. It was simple and pretty. We loved the mix with "perigrinos" from the Camino de Santiago and locals, and that you can get on the Camino just around the corner from the hotel/restaurant. The restaurant was small and lively and had a nice offering and good vibe.

The rooms were a little too bare: no place to put suitcases, hang clothes, hang towels etc. The restaurant was busy at times and a bit disorganized.

This was the second time I have stayed at Domus Oncinae as its a great stop off on my way from central Portugal to the Santander ferry, Quiet, out of town location and a good restaurant. Staff are friendly and speak good English which really helps when you don't speak Spanish.

If there is one tiny thing, it would be that central heating makes the room a little stuffy when you first get to the room but open a window and its all fine and I totally appreciate the heating over night as outside temperature was 3 degrees.

Everything is spotless and new (we actually slept in a newly finished wing, we got upgraded free of charge to a more spacious room). In our opinion it’s a 5* hotel, comes with a history lesson if you are interested in that and if you have the time to chat with the hotel’s staff. It’s a restored house (actually a few houses joined together with a Roman style patio in the middle, fountain included!!) which shows some parts of the old building in some of the walls, connecting us with the past back to the Roman Era. It’s very quiet, you can hear the birds sing and it’s located on the Camino de Santiago. They offer a great breakfast selection which you can enjoy even if you aren’t a guest at the hotel. I could go on and on about it but it’s better if you see it for yourself. If we’re ever in the area we will definitely stay there again.

We arrive late due due problemen with our car, it was aftershave 11.... The owner stayed till we arrived and even aranged a very late diner for us. The breakfast was great and the rooms very good. The hotel ambiance is fantastic. The help of the hotel staff was fantastic. I am wheelchair dependent and we had two dogs with us. No problem at all We sure come back Ton and Ria , the Netherlands

Superb! Superb! Superb! I couldn't fault it. Modern clean, comfortable accommodation. Nothing too much trouble. Food was prepared fresh for each meal a wonderful oasis on the Camino de santiago in villavante on the variant from Leon. Would I stay there again? Definitely it's what hospitality is all about

I liked everything it was a very relaxed stat

lovely room with great sheets and towels. shower wonderful. my favorite thing was the lovely lunch they served me. not a lot of choices but who cares when it is so tasty. I felt cared for after a day of fighting a strong headwind. lovely sitting room too.

What an oasis in the middle of the Camino! So clean & contemporary. Foot soaking tub available. The bed was the most comfortable one I've ever slept in. I loved the inset window that allowed for great ventilation.

They are strict about restaurant hours. Plan accordingly, it's worth it. It appears one small family runs the the show.

Room was too hot - needs a fan or net at the window so it can be left open. There is a restaurant so you can get pizza and sandwiches out of restaurant hours which don’t really cater for pilgrims as dinner was at 8 and breakfast 8.30.

New and modern-designed facilities and superb attention from the workers. On the Camino de Santiago route and close drive to Leon.

Basic breakfast. Poorly designed shower drainage (no door to stop flooding). More information on the services and facilities, such as WiFi, should be provided in the rooms and/or reception.

Beds are super comfortable. Linens are very nice. Property is very very clean. Shower was wonderful. Extremely comfortable stay.

Walls may be thin allowing for quite a bit of noise until dinner is done and everyone goes to bed. No more than any other Camino stay.
