The staff were very helpful, especially with public transport information and areas to walk to nearby. Sol was always happy to hear about our days adventures,and give us information about the city. The property is well away from traffic, it is quiet area. But very convenient for the nearby market and some little bars n restaurants.and the cathedral is under 10 mins walk . There was a kettle and mugs in the room and a fridge, a lovely surprise! so be good to take some teabags if you want a cuppa ! Comfy beds ! Easy walking down to harbour or up to the main square.

I found the air conditioning unit a bit noisy, but you can switch it off. This hostel is good value for money. ! If you don’t mind having to share the toilets , 2 per floor , it’s no problem all is kept very clean.

At the hostel everything was okay. It's a nice place to stay in Barcelona.

We stayed at Hostal La Palmera for one night during a stopover in Barcelona, and we had a great experience. The staff were very friendly and polite, making us feel welcome from the start. The location is excellent, just behind Mercado de la Boqueria, which makes it very convenient for exploring the city. The room was clean, and the beds were really comfortable. Overall, we really liked our stay and would recommend La Palmera to anyone looking for a well-located and comfortable place to stay in the city center!

There was some noise from the street, likely from cleaning but it wasn’t a major issue and is expected in a central location.

I really enjoyed this place. I booked short notice during Mobile World Congress, so everything was super expensive or booked out. I found Hostal la Palmera, and booked basically because it was cheap, and the reviews sounded pretty good. I was a bit scared that it might be terrible, but it was actually really nice. Yes, the rooms are tiny. So don't come if you want to hang out in the room all day. But if you want a clean, comfy bed, and a nice clean bathroom (great shower!), in a super central location, go for it! I would say my tiny room was almost cute, it had the smallest balcony with a table and two chairs, out to a back alley. Staff was very friendly. It's not a luxury hotel, but I will be back for the great value!

For the price, nothing really. The rooms are small, sure. But what do you expect?

The location of the hotel is incredibly convenient, with easy access to major attractions and the metro. Situated in a back alley with bars and restaurants nearby, it is a great spot for those looking to explore the local food and nightlife scene. The room itself exceeded expectations: spacious, clean, and equipped with comfortable beds. The standout feature, however, was the staff. They were exceptionally friendly and went above and beyond by helping us carry our luggage up and down the stairs. Overall, it is a good choice for its location, comfort, and excellent service.

Light sleepers may find the noise at night challenging. The alley feels a bit dark and less secure at night. For late arrivals, this might be a slight concern.

I think this hostel is excellent value. The room and bathroom were very clean and the room was bright and airy with a small balcony at the front,a small fridge and a place to hang clothes. The windows have very good double glazing and blackout shutters so your room is quiet. It's just around the corner from the market which makes getting breakfast super easy and if las ramblas is your starting point then you have only to step along the street and you are there. I left my luggage early and when I returned in the evening my bags had been placed in my room, nice touch.

Staff were very friendly and helpfull. Was here to do the marathon, and checked out the morning of the marathon, and they let me leave my luggage and when I came back from completing the marathon they let me use the shower facilites which was an excellent help. The room had everything I needed, and had no issue using the shared bathroom facilities. Was very quiet and relaxed for my stay. Would use again for sure. Ideal for a solo traveler and even had a fridge in the room which was great.

The location was brilliant and very central. A very short walk from the central square which connect to the airport etc. The building was on a lovely street right next to a market with wonderful food options. The building was very clean and felt safe to be in. My room was clean and tidy, comfortable with a balcony. The shared shower/toilet room was clean and well stocked. This was a fairly priced stay. I would advise anyone looking for a well priced and central place to stay here.

There was not anything I didn't like.

Superb location and balcony and (room 110) the corner position with door/windows in 2 of the 4 room walls, each with a balcony - 1 of which had 2chairs and a table. It is close to the Aerobus terminus (Plaça Catalunya), Los Ramblas and a superb Carrefour shop. And right next to the Market 😀

The trash bins nearby our window and the night noise from the street ... tho the doors when closed were a good acoustic barrier. Barcelona municipal staff cleaned the trash early to their credit. There is aircon and toilet extraction ... don't know if A/C also provides some fresh air?

We got a room with its own bathroom and toilet, both of which were very clean. The staff was super friendly, and they served really good, yet cheap coffee. The location of the accommodation is great for sightseeing, as it's close to the metro, just a five-minute walk, and there's also a market nearby (bazaar La Boqueria) just around the corner. Plus, it's far enough from La Rambla that you don't hear any noise at night. Additionally, the beach is just a few minutes walk away, making it a perfect spot for those looking to enjoy some seaside relaxation.

The walls in the accommodation are quite thin, so it’s best for everyone to keep the noise down, both in the rooms and in the hallways. The nearby bar and market can be a bit lively, so light sleepers might find earplugs useful. Also, just a heads up for taller guests: the beds can be a bit short. But honestly, these small issues hardly matter when you experience the warmth and friendliness of the staff, the cleanliness of the rooms, and the convenience of the location. It’s a lovely place to stay and these qualities make your visit worthwhile.
