We were pleasantly surprised, probably because the name Hostal suggests something less in Australia. Modern looking place with a clean and comfortable bedroom and a good bathroom. Wouldn’t want to stay in it for a week but perfectly fine for a couple of days.

Like so many Euro hotels, a kettle and tray of coffee/tea sachets just doesn’t come into their thinking.

Location is great and practical, two metro lines and couple of bus station right next to property! Hostel is really clean! Staff is great and approachable.

Wifi did not work in our room, but they were nice and offered a different room which we did not take because it was smaller. Also, there is no kettle in the room nor in the cafeteria, it would be really great if at least kettle was in the cafeteria so guests can make coffee or tea in the morning :))

The best shower I've had in a months traveling. Their concern for water saving. Their flexibility in combining my 2 separate bookings into one room so that I didn't have to move rooms.

The repeated request for days beforehand to precheck in , online, when it only took a few minutes to check in on arrival..

Everything was good for the price. We'd definitely stay again. Desk staff was very helpful, stored luggage when we arrived early and gave us a room ahead of the check-in time. Our room was extremely basic, but clean, and nothing more was promised (no fridge or microwave, for example). Good location. Many nearby places to eat. Not a long walk (~800m) to the main (Sants) Barcelona rail station. Closer Sans Metro station had no elevator or escalator, only stairs, to reach the tracks Elevator was large enough for us and all our luggage in one trip. Room floor was rug-less, which we really appreciate because rugs are hard to keep clean/sanitary.

Toweling was the most noticeable limitation, just 2 full sized and 1 thin hand towel, plus a bathmat. Room description on Booking.com shouldn't have included "View". There was a large window by the bed, but it was obscured by a metal security screen, and there was a small window high up on the bathroom wall. These were great for ventilation, but not for a view.

Our room was spacious, well-kept and comfortable. The bed was cozy, bedding clean and with all the essentials. Ideal location within walking distance to the metro, bus stops and many restaurants and cafes. Little balcony in the room ideal for taking in the view of the city. The streets downstairs come out alive well into the early hours of the morning, good for people watching but not enough to keep you awake at night once you close the windows. Blinds great for keeping the light out of the room and sleeping till late.

The reception staff could be a lot warmer and more welcoming. Need to be strategic about opening the bathroom window as i am sure the people on the streets can see you just as much as you can see them from the top.

The room was spacious, cozy, clean, shower had a nice head, bathroom was also well organized, although a bit old, but yet everything was extra clean. No weird smells. Location is perfect, it was rather quite at night, nice places to have coffee and food nearby and super close to Sants and this was my main preference.

It was good enough for this money at the high peak of a season. AC is old, but it exists and works, and bathroom could be better done, but all in all everything worked. The elevator didn’t work when I arrived and helpful gentlemen at the desk very kindly offered me another room on the 1st floor, that was better that the one I booked, so I was very happy.

The location is excellent for arrival by train at Barcelona Sants - I had a lot of luggage but walked from the station in 10 minutes. It is very easy to find as it has giant illuminated letters ‘Hostal Sants’. I had booked online & had previously completed & submitted the ‘pre-check-in web-pages which sped up the process of checking-in. Reception staff (who were very good) were able to: assign me a room; tell me about the facilities in the hostel & also the check-out procedure quickly & clearly. My room (701) was on the top floor with a fantastic 180 degree view south & west over Barcelona from the room’s balcony. I was able to sit & watch the city wake up in the morning! A member of staff recommended me a good tapas bar to eat & have a beer which was very nearby, relatively inexpensive & relaxed (I was quite tired).

Nothing.

Really clean and beautiful room. The hotel is in a really nice area, well connected to the city centre. Loads of shops and places to eat around and the staff was very friendly and helpful. I had an early check in and they gave me a room upgrade for the same price as the one I booked. Very good value for money, good internet connection, comfortable bed. Would 100% choose to stay here again.

Being so close to the square it does get loud sometimes. I had no problem with it but if you have difficulty sleeping because of the noise you need to take this into consideration.

Friendly, funny, English speaking staff. We arrived early and were welcomed with a ready room. Our room was spotlessly clean and beds were comfortable. If you're mainly concerned about sleeping and showering and spending the rest of your time out and about in vibrant Barcelona, this is a great place and a good value. Access to Metro and any other form of transportation couldn't be better. I didn't even expect they'd be able to help with parking but YES, they could. When I screwed up by pressing the button fora receipt rather than tapping the card for Access, they called the parking garage to fix it and didn't get mad at me. I'll definitely be back. Helpful directions and advice at each

Really, everything was fine. I like the fact that they keep your room key, so it's hard to lose it in a day pack!

Great location only 800 meters from Sants Train station. Lots of grocery and restaurants to choose from.in the area and a boardwalk to stroll on. The metro was also close by to go into town if you want as well as lots of taxis around. The room was basic but comfortable and had a small terrace. The staff was great and let me store my bags for a couple of hours.

Room was hot but I opened the terrace door and bathroom window to cool it off. With the windows open it was loud but the street noise died off by 21h30. With windows closed it was quiet. I could hear noise from above me and from the pipes but it wasn't horrible (and I hate noise). For the price and location, it was a good place to spend the night.
