Location is great for getting about the city. Friendly staff. Rooftop bar and pool with good views

Rooms are basic but all that we needed was there

Staff at reception desk were very helpful with brilliant english. We arrived early and left bags in with no charge, they also had our room ready earlier than expected. Comfortable beds. There's a fridge in the room ...bottles of water, kettle, tea and coffee provided in the room. Fluffy towels. Room cleaned every day. Supermarket next door for any needs, lovely fresh fruit,bakery section.. etc......Lots of restaurants very close. Balcony with beautiful view. 3 min walk to the metro (which goes to everywhere)or bus station. 10 min walk to Plaça d'Espanya. Beautiful top floor terrace with swimming pool and bar and stunning views. You can leave luggage in hotel if flight is after check out time.

Air conditioning worked but could have been colder. Only 1 chair. Could do with a second chair and small table for balcony.

Expo Hotel Barcelona is a 5-minute walk from the Santos Train station, a major transportation hub in Barcelona. There is easy access to subways that take you anywhere you would want to visit. The top-story pool is clean and a nice place to relax after long days walking and sight-seeing. The staff is well-informed and very pleasant. Compared to other hotels in Barcelona, the price was reasonable. The neighborhood around the hotel includes a charming, modern park where there are nightly volleyball games, and dog owners bring their pets. Also nearby is a street with a great choice of dining options & pleasant street-life.

Perhaps the room could have been a little more spacious. We were 2 adults and a teenager, and our room was a little tight.

The hotel was lovely and we were pleasantly surprised! Everything was clean and tidy, and the rooftop pool and bar was amazing! We actually spent a whole day of our holiday up there! The cool aircon and the smell of the reception entrance was dreamy!

You can hear absolutely everything through the doors and walls from people having a conversation and a knock on a door 3 rooms down to people walking past the hotel out the front. It wasn’t too disturbing but it did wake us up a couple of times each night.

The location was great, very accessible for the main train station and the metro to the various main tourist sites. The staff were all incredibly friendly and helpful. We stayed in one of the refurbished rooms which was very comfortable and spacious with a balcony with incredible views. Both breakfast and the restaurant on the roof were good. We didn’t experience the issues mentioned elsewhere in terms of sound proofing.

We didn’t lack for anything and were pleased with the stay, but as others have said this does not feel like a 4 star hotel. There were just a few small amenities missing that would have made all the difference - in the room there was no fridge, no tea/coffee making facilities and no phone. No chairs on the balcony. I think with the smallest of tweaks and completion of the refurb this could easily be the 4 star it is advertised as.

The renovation of the hotel is generally good but cheap furnishings in the room and very old mattresses. Toilet paper rolls were ns a stupid location where one's arm would normally be while seated on the toilet. Most of the water for the shower head drained out before it got to the head. HUGE water waste. I don't use elevators so the 4th floor is a huge barrier to non-elevator users. The front desk staff were delightful!!!!! Especially April...Very accommodating, and professional, and made me feel very welcome.

Climbing over 100 steps to get to the first floor for guest rooms. No idea where was a restaurant, coffee shop, or something to get breakfast. Poor directions to get to a taxi. As an older person with large luggage, I felt abandoned! Finally, a taxi on a different road, traveling in the opposite direction, stopped and yelled to me if I needed a taxi! Thanks only to him, I was saved.

Location was handy, within a few minutes walk of the main railway station. Opposite was a fabulous restaurant and next door a large supermarket which proved very handy. The Internet speed was good and the roof terrace had a fabulous view of the city and great food, snacks and choice of wines.

The room was dark and tired and really in need of a refurbishment. Due to Barcelona being exceptionally the prices of all hotels was high. The Expo hotel was no different and on reality this made it far too expensive for what it is. The staff were incredibly helpful and this went some way to offsetting the financial aspect but overall I felt that it was over-priced

The hotel in general is very well presented and in a good location, its a bit out of the centre of Barcelona but the taxi rank is right beside the hotel and only a couple of euros to travel there. The rooms were very nice, working fridge and nice shower, room cleaned every day and a safe if you need to use one. The breakfast has a great range to suit everyone and is a well presented buffet. The staff are great and helpful. The rooftop bar is exceptional and great views, well priced and a very nice vibe to sit all night at.

The only downside i feel to the hotel is the pool. The size is very small for the amount of people and also the lack of sun loungers. in 5 days, i never once got a lounger but it really doesnt hinder the hotel at all.

Room was quite comfortable. Location was absolutely spot on. We were able to get on a taxi, bus, metro, rail and Hop on Hop off all within a five minute walk. Breakfast, dinner, and refreshments were execellent. I must compliment the staff at the Terraza. They always greeted you with smiles and patience. Felt really relaxed there.

The menu at the Terraza could use a little expanding in their selections but, overall the meals were tasty

The location is great with lots of little coffee shops and restaurants close by. Staff were lovely and accommodating. Very close to all transport links as well as options for food and shopping. All in all a great place to stay.

Pool area is pretty small considering the number of guests that the hotel accommodates. Also, the furniture inside the rooms can be noisy when moved along the floor, causing me and my partner to be awoken during the night. Although, this is due to certain inconsiderate guests rather than any fault of the hotel or staff. A further comment on the pool area, and on the subject of inconsiderate guests, is that the pool area’s sun beds where being ‘reserved’ by using a towel to throw over, despite nobody returning to those sun beds for hours. I think more regulation of the pool area by staff members might be needed to stop these types of guests.
